So what moment in Sailor Moon made you facepalm the most?

For me, it was episode 181, in which Seiya and Usagi go on a nervous date together. When Seiya gets attacked by Sailor Tin Mouse, Sailor Moon comes to the rescue! However, Seiya gets to thinking that Sailor Moon looks awfully familiar....


and then at the end of the episode, Seiya's like, naaaaaaah, can't be. SEIYA YOU ARE A GENTLEMAN AND A SCHOLAR.

I know right, that one definitely made me facepalm too.

Also wow sailor moon villains why do almost NONE of you have a system? Even when you are looking for something super specific? Ok you have a plan every week but it is ALWAYS THE SAME PLAN and also basically boils down to OK WE WILL CLOSE OUR EYES AND PICK ONE. I think I may have cheered every time someone did something vaguely smart instead.

my facepalm moment was in episode 102 where Sailor Venus disguises herself as Sailor Moon to hide the true identity of Sailor Moon. She just looks so ridiculous in her disguise which is why Sailor Venus is my favorite solider.

118 and Mimete causing that resonance cascade alternate dimension to open up in Professor Tomoe's house. Ikasaman was the most wonderful daimon in my opinion. The whole episode proved to be "WTF" moment.

Though one worth mentioning is after the whole Mistress 9 fiasco you see Professor Tomoe with Hotaru and he looks sooooo happy. Then the outer senshi come and take her away. I know it was necessary but, still, it was terribly sad to watch. Very bittersweet.

in "Last Resort" / "The Legendary Lake Monster! Usagi's Family Ties" when the senshi just randomly appear with no real explanation of how they got there. Did they walk? Fly? WTF

Considering what happened in the anime, I was kind of glad Prof. Tomoe was able to be with Hotaru, if only for a little bit.

Honestly, when I think about it, I spent loads of the anime going WTF at stuff. ILU sailor moon but um not really for your consistently excellent plot construction or anything...

Another moment is when Chibiusa sees the girls transform for the first time. She was in shock to find out that they were the soldiers. I laughed because the girls look the same when their sailor soldiers.

This is really early on in the manga/anime/everything else (ha) but calling Sailor Venus the moon princess?! Really? I never got their logic...I'm sitting here like, "uh, Sailor Moon; Princess of the Moon. Is it really that hard to figure out?" haha

Michiru was getting some payback for the S season.

That moment in Ami's debut episode where Mamoru catches Usagi talking to Luna and it just gets REALLY awkward until she yells at him and runs away. It's even worse in the English dub, but I don't think there's a single version of the anime where this moment isn't incredibly awkward to watch.

And my personal favorite:






I honestly consider that to be the funniest part of the entire series xD

The whole Mamoru + Dark Lady was a WTF moment for me. They did a better job in the anime but still, when I saw it (and I had not read the manga at that point), I was completely shocked. O.o It's almost an incredibly stupid ploy to play against Sailor Moon because rather than think her Mamoru was abandoning her, you'd think her initial response would be "Mamoru would never go after his daughter!!!!" lol. The whole thing was just ... no.

And it always bothered me how everyone was always going on about Usagi's weight -- especially Mamoru. -_- The girl has the fastest metabolism in the world. Seriously. Mamoru no baka.

Look up "fera" in a Japanese-to-English dictionary and it'll be even funnier. No wonder everyone looks so weirded out.
