Ugh. Clearly this backache was not about to go away on its own!

After finishing her first incantation, Rocbouquet brought her palms forward and began to cast Life Water on herself. A vaguely Rocbouquet-shaped silhouette stepped away from the wall and assumed the same position, calling forth a vibrant splash of cerulean that cleansed the blood from the enchantress' arm and left her feeling refreshed.

So much better.

Rocbouquet then opened the door a crack and peered out, her curiosity getting the best of her. As expected, nothing had improved out there, and the golem appeared to be casting another spell. At that moment, a devilish thought crossed her mind. Wouldn't it be amusing to time her spell with the golem's attack and then strike every last one of those fools dead? Rocbouquet raised her hand above her head as if she were going to summon a lightning storm over the group, but she hesitated when she noticed how Garland was nearly hacking up his lungs in response to the noxious fumes polluting the immediate area.

If the golem struck him again while he was vulnerable, he might die, she realized—And if he died, that only meant his valuable knowledge of inter-dimensional magic would be lost to the senseless violence inflicted upon the group by the undead behemoth before she could extract it from him, so shouldn't she be protecting him as if he were her own slumbering body? Rocbouquet pouted.

It's not fair! I shouldn't have to protect you, she thought in annoyance. But you give my life purpose—just like big brother!

Angela - Asvas (Tower Roof)

From what she could tell, that abomination was not all the phased by her attacks. If anything, it just got even more mad, and decided to throw what seemed to be a combination of its previous attacks. As if the lightning strikes were not bad enough, Angela was unable to avoid this sickening smoke this time. She got on her knees, almost going into a coughing fit; that felt like pure poison.

She glanced towards the others to see how they were faring - apparently the pirate was down for the count, but he was not gone, at least. She couldn't really tell how much longer the others would be able to keep up, either, but one thing was for sure; she had no desire to get another taste of its attacks. They had to end this.

Angela steadied herself, directing once more the light she is able to command against this creature of the dark.

Garland - Asvas (Tower Roof) 

The nauseating miasma returned, and much to Garland's chagrin it was also carrying the right conditions to discharge numerous bolts of lightning. That awful combination caused burning pain to both his outward skin and his inner lungs, making the mere act of standing upright a difficult task.

Briefly dropping to a knee to recompose himself through sporadic coughing, he could see that Angela wasn't faring much better against the golem's vile sorcery. If anything, he hoped that Rocbouquet wouldn't be choking on the deadly mist either. Not that he was going to permit that perversion of nature to last much longer, of course..

Using his sword as an impromptu cane, Garland wearily rose back up to his feet and began to draw upon the energies of Eldetrius. Angela had the right of it from the beginning, bless her heart; this monster didn't seem to like her light-aspected magic very much. It certainly would not enjoy the flood of light that once burned away Garland's vision. Partly, he hoped, because it wouldn't be there any longer.

Closing his eyes, Garland chanted a familiar magic spell - the very same one that he had used to smite a certain black-furred menace. For a few moments, a ghostly echo of a large piece of rock appeared, perhaps no more tangible than the phantom duplicate of his sword that he previously called forth. Curiously, for those finding any time to look at the object in the heat of battle, the crumbled cornerstone appeared to bear writing upon its surface that was constantly shifting place.

Asvas (Tower Roof Enclosure)

Rocbouquet felt a shift in atmospheric pressure and noticed right away how her long blue strands of hair were drawn out the door as the monster concocted yet another effluvium of noxious gases. Sparks traveled up and down the virulent cloud of charged particles as it billowed forward unleashing a barrage of lightning strikes against Angela, Garland, Papyrus—and of course it just happened to be rolling right toward her! Rocbouquet exhaled in exasperation. Like hell she would let another high voltage attack plow her over again! She quickly slammed the door shut. Her fast thinking managed to keep the lightning out, but it did not prevent the bothersome smog from seeping through the cracks in the wood.

Quick to counter the unanticipated chemical assault, Rocbouquet's shadow leapt out in front of her and absorbed the toxic fumes before they managed to fill her lungs. The impact between the ghostly doppelganger and vile mephitis caused the temptress to stumble back into the marble wall as her shadow buffered the attack and returned to her body. She coughed and gagged at the putrid stench lingering in the room. This was terrible. Absolutely terrible! Not only was the clone gone as a result, there was now an awful odor looming over her mostly safe space. Rocbouquet clenched her fists and thrust them downward to her sides, stomping her foot against the floor at the same time like a stubborn child.

“Dammit!” she cursed. The last place she wanted to be was in a small enclosure where poison vapors could accumulate and suffocate her. Ugh. What a nuisance! The temptress nearly kicked the wooden door off its hinges as she stomped outside with her spirits trailing angrily beside her. She'd show that pesky monster!

Her demeanor changed, however, the moment she caught sight of Garland dropping to his knee. Despite a violent episode of coughing, he somehow managed to lift his weary body from the ground using his sword like a crutch. The spirits around Rocbouquet began to panic as he prepared to cast another spell. No! What was he doing!? If that monstrosity struck him one more time, he would be killed! She needed to do something and fast, or else all of her effort to win his trust and learn his arcane secrets would be in vain!

Using the soft verses of an ancient hymn, Rocbouquet quietly called forth a protective wind current. It was the best she could do given such short notice.

Rocbouquet's Action:

Papyrus could do nothing as yet another plume of toxicity spread across the battlefield. Everything burned, including his eyes. It was next to impossible to see his surroundings, and his gloves were not a satisfactory filter. How the creature had survived a direct hit by his blaster was far beyond him.
As vision returned, it became apparent that the situation had become more dire. Papyrus had felt significantly weaker-he didn't even want to know what kind of magic that creature had cast upon him. Buggy had still not awoken, causing Papyrus to think the worst. More anxiety provoking, however, was seeing that Angela had missed, and Garland falling onto a knee. He looked like he was mere moments from losing consciousness, using his blade in a feeble attempt to help steady himself.

Memories of losing Lightning and Samus flashed in his mind. He wasn't about to lose another.

Ignoring the aches in his limbs, Papyrus quickly raced to Garland's side, placing himself in between Garland and the beast, trying his best to erect another shield of bone. It was hard to tell if the shield would appear, having dissipated mere moments before-but he had to try. 

If he could at least be target of the beast long enough for Garland to cast the spell! Papyrus dug his heels into the ground as firmly as he could, and braced for the inevitable pain that would surely strike him.

Asvas tower rooftop-

He wanted to be the hero...he wished to be the one that all of them, even the persistent pony Princess and even the one known by the others as Floozy #2...but like usual and many of the other times both in his homeworld and all the spots they have been in...he failed.

The Golem swatted him away like a pesky fly that wouldn't leave it's putrid body alone. Combined with all the lightning and other Golem attacks, Buggy didn't feel so good. In fact, he ended up getting hurt so badly again for..if he was awake to even count the times maybe like the 4th or 5th time.

So he lay there while probably lots and lots of stuff was happening around him but at least he was dreaming of the women back home...

Garland - Asvas (Tower Roof) 

What a relief! The tower was once again free of intruders, as it was meant to be. Papyrus had moved closer to him to aid in his faltering defense, calling forth a familiar barrier of bones to ward off incoming attacks. But even as that happened, the composite creature collapsed before their eyes and began to disappear - much like their previous foes of power, Kraid and the black rabite.

To some extent, everyone around Garland had contributed to the defeat of the zombies and the flesh golem. Buggy had inflicted damage with one of his explosive weapons, while Sunset seemed to have distracted the gestalt monster with a strike of her conjured hammer. Even Rocbouquet was mindful of his warning to stay away, which aided the Cosmos warriors' ability to fight the undead menace without any restraint.

Garland winced involuntarily, not knowing whether it was from aching lungs or a modicum of guilt from his inaction with regard to pursuing Frieza. He spoke aloud so that Sunset and Buggy could know that he was aware of their efforts.. well, at least one of them was awake and conscious.

"We've put them back to rest.. no one should ever have to suffer such a fate. Thank you for helping me."

Angela - Asvas (Tower Roof)

As the light from her elemental magic dissipated, Angela could tell that the creature had hardly been fazed by it... It's true that she used it quite a few times against it already; could it be that it had grown resistant to it?

No matter, they still had to move fast. While she considered her next action, she noticed that Garland wasted no time either, already chanting a familiar verse, with Papyrus assisting him on the defensive aspect. An item materialized next to them, but Angela had no time to inspect more closely as she remembered - he had used that attack before! She quickly shut her eyes and shielded them with her left arm as the blinding light illuminated the battlefield and sent the creature of the darkness back where it belonged.

So it was over. Thankfully, Garland managed to do exactly what she tried to a few seconds before. Which meant that she had been practically upstaged, if she had to be honest, but now was not the time to linger on that. Her eyes fixated on the blue crystal instead, as she waited for everyone to catch their breaths after their long battle. It was shining softly, like the others.

Hopefully, this meant that their journey would come to an end soon.

Asvas (Tower Roof)

Rocbouquet rolled her eyes when Papyrus suddenly stepped in to defend Garland while he concentrated on his spellcasting. Of course that skeleton warrior was off trying to play hero again, throwing himself and his shield between Garland and the golem, undermining her personal effort to protect the winged warrior from another electric assault.

“...What a difficult pest,” she grumbled, her thoughts consumed with obvious jealousy. But it soon became apparent that both Papyrus' and Rocbouquet's protection was unnecessary to the mage's well-being when his spell fired off, flooding the battlefield with a searing, white light that instantly sent the golem to its demise. Rocbouquet shielded her eyes with the back of her arm.

What the hell was that? Sunspot Destroyer?

Well, whatever spell it was, it sure took care of that grotesque pile of flesh! Impressive. Now, if only Garland had been around when she needed somebody to defeat that stubborn guardian...

Seeing that there was nothing more to worry about in terms of monsters, Rocbouquet stepped away from the rooftop enclosure and then darted across the battlefield, acknowledging the others with no more than a passing glance and a weak smile of relief as she made her way over to Garland, shouting his name and waving to him. Her hair continued to flutter around loosely in the breeze although the spirits were no longer visible.

“Thank goodness those awful monsters are finally gone! I was so worried about you!” she exclaimed, the tears welling in her eyes as she stopped in front of him and immediately began to pull his sleeves back and check his arms for injuries, careful not to touch any obvious scratches or bend his elbows too much in case he sprained a muscle. “...The bites you sustained from those zombies are a lot worse than I expected,” she pointed out, giving him a worried frown as she pretended to concern herself with his current physical condition. “Please, if you would, allow me to heal your wounds. It's the least I can do for the man who offered to bring me back home safely to my brother.”

Sunset looked over her shoulder, hoping that the golem had take the bait, but it only was distracted by her for a few moments before it turned back towards the others. She huffed and rolled her eyes. Of course they would just keep attacking it, when all they needed to do was knock it off the roof!  She started back towards the golem, eyes briefly darting to the glowing crystal, so close yet so far from her reach, but the golem had released another cloud of its putrid miasma. She ran right into it, jolts of electricity stunning her. The sudden pain and stiffness from the electricity made her stumble and fall.

Just great.  She looked towards Buggy to see if he had been able to get up but...her healing bandaid had somehow missed. She saw it laying next to him and Buggy was out cold. All Sunset could do now was watch the golem. Maybe it would destroy everyone and continue to ignore her so she could finally get what she wanted.

However, there were flashes of light as more attacks hit the golem. She could see Garland looking just as weak as she felt casting some sort of powerful looking spell. It hit the golem and it fell, disappearing in a flash of light.  For an illusion, it’s hits sure hurt. Couldn’t Chaos have turned on friendly fire for them? Useless. All useless.

Now that was out of the way...what next?  Sunset got back on to her hooves and inspected the aftermath. Buggy had not stirred and both Papyrus and Angela looked like they had made it out alright. She had hoped they would have been roughed up a bit more or at least died. Why couldn’t they have just died? Then, right on cue, Rocbouquet came running out to check on Garland, fawning all over him. It made her want to puke but...she turned once again towards the glowing blue crystal. If she could keep distracting the idiot crew a bit longer, she could try to get her hooves on that crystal finally.

For some reason Garland thanked them all. Why she could not understand. It was either fight or die. All these heroics and feelings, she glanced at Buggy again, feeling something odd in her chest. A mess of emotions that she would rather not have to deal with right now.


Pah. Idiots.

Angela - Asvas (Tower Roof)

Angela's was just staring passively at the blue crystal, but it did not take long for the irritation to kick back in as Rocbouquet emerged from her hiding place and started calling out for her knight-in-shining-armor, dashing to his side. Right. She had almost forgotten about her, but regrettably, she's still here. She let out a sigh before her expression softened as she focused on the crystal once more, reminding herself that their end-goal was closer than ever. Once they secured the crystals and gave them to Cosmos, surely then she would be able to send that stupid girl back to her stupid brother and be done with all this.

She suppressed the urge to scoff at her offer to heal Garland. How exactly was she planning to do that? Perhaps by shedding her tears on his wounds? Or did she just so happen to be abducted together with a first-aid kit? Foolish girl. 

Speaking of healing though, that clown slash pirate was still not moving. Should they do something about that? The well-being of their previous adversaries did not have to be on the top of their list, she reasoned, but he did help them out in the end, admittedly, so...

Well, his unicorn teammate was still standing so she could handle him, surely. Instead, Angela walked towards Papyrus - she was genuinely interested in his well-being, after all, and this would come with the added bonus of being distracted from that girl's antics.

"Are you alright?" she chose to simply ask. "Nice work you did back there - things would have been much worse if you hadn't blocked off those creatures with those bones you summon".

He'd braced himself for an attack that would never connect.

Garland had managed to finish his spell just in the nick of time, and the grotesque abomination was nothing less of obliterate by the end of it. It had all happened so quickly. Papyrus stood there dumbly for a second. He was slowly brought back to his senses as Rocbouquet began to treat Garland's wounds. 

Papyrus blinked in response to Angela question. He wanted to blurt out all kinds of things: What kind of question was that? What were those things? Why do those things exist? Were they really, honestly, and truly made of dead humans? Why was it that strong?

Yet all Papyrus could make out was "We're alive." in a tone of nothing less than absolute astonishment. 

Pure relief rushed through him as the realization hit him. They had fought the worst thing Papyrus has ever seen, and they'd come out on the other side. Complete and utter joy radiated through his every being.

"WE'RE ALIVE!" Papyrus shrieked. Hopping up and down, he grabbed Angela tightly in a hug and spun once or twice before setting her back down on her feet. 

"WE'RE MADE IT! WE'RE ALIVE!" Papyrus continued his small yet loud celebration. He couldn't contain himself, even if he wanted to. 

"I THOUGHT FOR SURE WE WERE DONE FOR-BUT WE'RE ALIVE!"

Garland - Asvas (Tower Roof) 

There was a gnawing uncertainty in the corner of Garland's mind that, with the defeat of the cadaverous crew, was steadily growing with each passing minute.

What now? What is it we're supposed to do?

Papyrus was jubilant in the wake of their survival, and Angela.. well, she was getting swept up into Papyrus's embrace. That seemed better for the moment than lingering too heavily upon whatever animosity had existed between the two young women. In regards to Rocbouquet, Garland hadn't focused too much on her beyond the context of his self-asserted duty of protection.

Having emerged from her hiding place, the wayward young lady was now insistently looking over his physical condition. Zombies had in fact gotten to him, but the worst of the pains had come from the flesh golem's lightning and miasma. It was practically impossible to not acknowledge her presence at this point, and considering that she was offering to heal his injuries, it seemed only reasonable to accept! It was a hard-fought battle atop the tower, and Garland's own natural skepticism suggested the ordeal was but one of many.

"I never thought of you as a healer, Rocbouquet; if it's all the same, though, thank you for helping me. With that last crystal, we can take the necessary steps to return to our respective homes."

Not that he knew what exactly those were, but Garland thought he was at least partially educated enough for the task.

At first, he wasn't moving at all and figured that it would be his last voyage and he would never return to his crew or anyone for that matter, but all of a sudden his eyes opened slowly. He had regained consciousness and everything was right again...well as right as it had been on this wacky trip.

After he was able to stand and stretch a little, he suddenly heard something that got on his nerves and he finally had enough of it and turned around stomping towards the problem. It was the bones for brains himself yelling and parading around like they just saved the world or something.

Buggy went right up to them and said softly then getting louder, "Your alive? YOUR ALIVE?? SHUT THE HECK UP YOU STUPID SKELETON!! YOU ARE DEAD!! THAT'S WHY you're A SKELETON!! TRUST ME...I KNOW ONE IN MY WORLD AND BROOK EVEN KNOWS HE'S DEAD!"

Buggy then calmed down, "Anyway, yes we are alive but can anyone and I mean ANYONE get the rest of the job done so we can all go home, Please"

Asvas (Tower Roof)

Smiling, Rocbouquet took a hold of Garland's hands and brought them together between hers.

“No. Thank you, Garland,” she replied, locking eyes with him. Then, without hesitation, the enchantress leaned in closer to his lips than ever before and lowered her voice until the words trailed beneath her breath as a soft mellifluous whisper. “I promise you'll feel a lot better after I take care of you.” The corners of her smile curled into an arrogant smirk as her pupils suddenly began to glow a deep orange.

She paused, gazing at him with longing eyes. A vague semblance of human skulls emerged from the ends of her fluttering long blue hair in an array of amorphous wisps that quickly spread across the rooftop like a suffocating perfume, caressing both warriors of Chaos and Cosmos alike with the intoxicating scent of fresh-cut roses as a flurry of blood-red petals scattered past Rocbouquet and Garland.

“Now, if you would kindly hold still for just a minute....”

Angela - Asvas (Tower Roof)

"We're alive? Oh come on, of course we're aliiiiiiiiiii--" was all that Angela managed to blurt out before Papyrus swept her away in an impromptu dance. It took her a second or two to reorient herself, mostly because she did not see that one coming. Meanwhile, Papyrus' burst of excitement continued.

"Sheesh, have a little faith!" she teased once he settled down. "I'm sure that together, we can deal with this whole mission thing..." she trailed off as Buggy approached the two, apparently quite irritated. What was the matter with him? Maybe it was better when he was unconscious, after all.

Angela considered telling him off here and now - after all Papyrus has had enough already. First that annoying girl and now him? Give him a break. But finally, she decided to let things go. It was true that the pirate had taken quite a beating in this battle, so she would excuse this little outburst since he calmed down.

She still did not appreciate his tone but at least he had a good point; they should move on. "That's right," she replied coldly, looking back towards Garland and the pest. "As soon as you two are done with your business...?"

What in the world is she doing?

Angela nearly screamed as blue, half-transparent, human-like skulls emerged from the girl's hair and spread all around the tower's roof. Instinctively, she tried swatting them away as she continued watching, eyes wide open. Rose petals appeared seemingly out of thin air, scattering right past the duo.

That is magic alright. And that is no healing spell.

"What are you doing to him?!" she yelled at her, holding her staff tightly, ready to attack at any moment. As if she needed much more provocation when it came to that person. "Just who or what are you, really?"

Sunset hesitated, watching as Rocbouquet approached Garland, wondering if the sorceress was going to finally turn the tide of this whole ruse. She nearly bounced in anticipation, ignoring Buggy's outburst at Papyrus. It was idiotic but perhaps enough of a distraction...

Yes YES get him while he's weak!

Sunset smirked as she felt a strange feeling wash over her temporarily and then shuddered. The idea of falling prey to that witch was disturbing. The witch may have drove her to near insanity with her incessant prattling, but if she was going to do what Sunset hoped...this was her opportunity to finally get what she wanted.

Papyrus
The pirate had done a complete 180* upon awakening, immediately launching a barrage of verbal assaults at him. It was as confusing as it was startling, as he kept jamming the idea that Papyrus was undead down his throat with increasing ferocity with little to no provocation. 

And that wasn't even the beginning of it. Papyrus was too busy trying swallow Buggy's sudden outburst to have seen what was happening. 

It took Angela's shouting to do that. 

So he swirled around and saw the unthinkable. 

Rocbouquet-the innocent human, the powerless human, the damsel. The one who he managed to save from strangulation by suggesting they work together. Her hair was no longer hair. It swirled up in a wispy plume behind her-with ghostly skulls formed at the ends of each large strand. 

The second Papyrus laid eyes on them, he felt an intense disturbance within the depths of his soul. It was as though each and every ounce of fear, insecurity and doubt he had ever felt since being summoned here came back twice as strong. Sounds became louder, colors became brighter-his limbs became both heavy and light at the same time. It felt like he would choke on his own tongue. He couldn't manage to find his voice or open his mouth to scream as his heart began racing faster then he'd ever thought possible.

Then as sudden as this terrifying onset started, it stopped-leaving Papyrus in a cold sweat as he continued to watch the scene unfold before him. It couldn't have lasted any longer then a few seconds-not even. 

The sickly-sweet smell of flowers wafted through the air as a pink aura of magic danced among many flower petals as the ghostly skulls began to fly about all around them. Papyrus swallowed hard, and possibly did one of the most dangerous things he could have done.

He addressed her. 

"Roc...bouquet?"

After he calmed down he noticed Sunset happy about something and truthfully he hoped it was for something he did but it probably wasn't, oh well. He then heard Angela and even Papyrus too asking about his "Harmless and normal" friend, Rocbouquet. So, he decided to go try to educate his peers.

He walked over placing an arm around Angela's shoulders and produced a lit pipe from somewhere on his person (One of his many treasures) "It's quite simple my dear Angela...you see the wonderful beings coming out of the wonderfully groomed and cared for hair of our lovely friend here as what are called Spirits. Now Spirits are usually formed when a person dies and their soul or something roams free. The only difference though in this case, the spirits were all men that the Great Rocbouquet has defeated and they just couldn't resist her..."

Buggy looked at Angela and took a puff from his pipe, "So, in other words, Angela my adorable wizard friend...Rocbouquet...is not the type of woman you wanna mess with and when she is in love...THEN YOU REALLY STAY BACK!" Buggy smiled and hugged Angela tight..."Please Stay and watch with me, ok cutie.."

Angela - Asvas (Tower Roof)

As Angela was watching the scene unfold in front of her, eyes wide open, she felt someone's hand on her shoulders, sending a shiver down her spine. It was that good-for-nothing clown, who started to explain what "Great Rocbouquet" was doing. Spirits of men that could not resist her? Her?! How dumb can men get?

But before she could reflect on the matter further, he went ahead and held her tight in an embrace, asking her not to interrupt and simply watch with him from afar.

Watch with him? Cutie? Is he for real??

"DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH ME, YOU CREEP", she shouted at the top of her lungs, slapping him hard across the face and pushing him away from her.

Buggy got slapped! His cheek may be a little red, but he's otherwise fine.

Like that, the effect of her charm took an instant hold of Garland's mind. Rocbouquet was ecstatic.

“My oh my, I was not expecting for it to work so easily on you given how hesitant you were at first when I asked for your help!” she laughed, stroking Garland's cheek with the back of her hand before stepping back from him. Of course the rest of the maggot brigade was more than ready to rain on her parade, wasting no time calling out to her and questioning her. Rocbouquet turned around to address them, Angela specifically, only for Buggy to step in to resolve things on her behalf. The temptress squinted her eyes with detest and disbelief as he put his arm around the purple-haired girl's shoulders and pulled out his pipe to start explaining everything for her in a less than desirable fashion. Not to mention his tactless advances toward Angela. Was he for real?

Naturally, Angela responded by slapping him. Rocbouquet didn't blame her one bit. She would have done the same thing.

“Silence, fool!” she cut in sharply. On cue, one of Rocbouquet's phantoms manifested in front of Buggy's face and snapped at him.

“...Now then, where were we? Ah, yes.” The temptress' eyes glossed over Papyrus with disinterest, returning to Angela, the more aggressive of the pair. The defiance in the rival sorceress' intent gaze burned almost as hot as Jeanne's. Had Rocbouquet crossed paths with her back in the jungle, she might have mistaken the girl for one of those pesky Amazons. The temptress scoffed at Angela. “That look of betrayal in your eyes makes me feel so good,” she giggled, covering her mouth coyishly with her fingertips.

“I am Rocbouquet, one of the Seven Heroes, and the Queen of Salamat. I was mistakenly summoned by some Beelzebub claiming to be the God of Discord. But don't worry; I have nothing to do with that fool. Clearly he has no conception of what a hero is.” She paused and clenched her fists. “And that so-called goddess Cosmos? She's got some nerve insulting big brother's and Wagnas' great sacrifice by allowing such a mix-up to happen in the first place!” Rocbouquet raised her right hand and slowly uncurled her index finger, finally acknowledging Papyrus by directing it at him to emphasize her point. He was, after all, the odd one out.

“...Just how stupid have humans really become since the termite queen's defeat?—” Changing the direction of her rhetoric, Rocbouquet flashed her two adversaries a devious smirk. Her voice sunk into another one of its mellifluous lulls as she shrugged her shoulders and looked toward Angela, speaking out in a tone of ironic sympathy. “—Or perhaps you're just using him to secure your own selfish desires. After all, why should a human care for a monster except in times of common danger? In your eyes, he's just another threat, isn't he? As soon as this is all over, you will turn your back on him, won't you? Even if he saves your worthless life.”

Rocbouquet concluded her sentence with a light tut and raised her chin, demonstrating an air of self-importance. “—But that is not my problem. You see, this man here knows something much more valuable to me than any stupid gemstone,” she indicated, momentarily placing her right hand against Garland's left shoulder. Rocbouquet tilted her head to the side and giggled innocently. “But I suppose I shouldn't let you off the hook so easily. It wouldn't be to Wagnas' taste.” The temptress brought a finger to her lips and adverted her gaze thoughtfully to the dreary sky, as if to insult Angela and Papyrus by also squandering their time. “But then again, big brother might get upset if I don't at least try to make a deal with you....”  

Shifting her eyes back to the pair, Rocbouquet took notice to Angela's aggressive posture, in particular, the way she gripped so tightly onto her wooden staff. “It takes only two simple words for me to end his life,” she commented with an indifferent shrug as she motioned to the sword resting against Garland's left hip in its scabbard. “And I don't really need him alive to get what I want from him. So unless you have a death wish for your 'friend,' I advise you drop that weapon at your feet.” The three, more prominent apparitions lingering closest to Rocbouquet's side seemed to sneer at Papyrus' and Angela's misfortune through their gaping maws and eyeless sockets. As if to further prove her point, the temptress looked to Garland.

“Garland, if you would. Please demonstrate to these maggots how willing you are to die for me so that they understand I mean business.”

Garland - Asvas (Tower Roof) 

True to Rocbouquet's expectations, Garland had not been anticipating her attempt to weave a bewitching enchantment when his guard was lowered. By the time he would have ordinarily recognized what was going on, it was too late. The thick rose-scented haze had clouded his senses, searing the temptress's longing gaze into his thoughts. In that moment, everything else seemed.. inconsequential. His breathing grew heavy, and his eyes were a discolored, vacant blue.

"Agh... Mistress Rocbouquet.." Garland's mouth parted slightly, though not so much that he would freely dribble over his clothes. He stood by, gazing with rapt attention as the seductive young woman delivered a proper introduction to Papyrus and Angela. Whatever injury had been sustained must have been significant, for he was still quite sore after her healing - but that was a pain worth suffering for her sake!

Curiously, now, she was addressing Angela with a tone that had suggested some underlying displeasure to Garland's ears. Was it the disturbance she caused from the loud slap to the privateer's cheek? It had been preceded by some very loud shriek; surely his mistress would be upset by that in some way or fashion. Peace had to be maintained.

Rocbouquet then addressed Garland again, impressing upon him the need to demonstrate his readiness. Without so much as a count of one, he stepped forward and drew his sword, holding it at the ready like a valiant knight serving as part of the queen's personal guard Surely he would give his life for Her Grace if that was necessary.

"You had better listen to Mistress Rocbouquet! No one has to come to harm; they only have to heed her words.."

Papyrus
Papyrus simply stood there, stunned out of his mind in panic, and the horrible events continued to play out. Buggy inappropriately intruded onto Angela's space- and Rocbouquet kept talking. Whatever kindness and playfulness that had been in her tone throughout their entire time together was now tinted with toxicity-the joy of one who marveled in despair and pain of others. Papyrus had never heard of anyone with such animosity in their voice-yet somehow couldn't shake the familiarity of it. It was as though he'd experienced something like this before. In a moment of pure instinct, he rubbed frantically at his throat and found the lack of injury from when? how? from who? relieving, even if only a little.*

Like zombies and the literal undead-possession magic of this caliber did not exist. The existence of souls was well known in his universe-though the ability to thoroughly control them along with the sentient will of the owner was anything and everything beyond imagination. Yet he'd encountered a lot of impossibilities on this journey hadn't he? So why wouldn't the most taboo of things be part of the equation? When Garland arose at Rocbouquet's beckoning, drawing his sword-Papyrus could have screamed. 

Somehow, he'd managed not to. 

"Or perhaps you're just using him to secure your own selfish desires....Why should a human care for a monster....he's just another threat, isn't he? As soon as this is all over, you will turn your back on him, won't you? Even if he saves your worthless life.”

"That's a lie!" Papyrus instead found himself desperately defending the party against Rocbouquet's intense accusations. 

"Angela would never do that! She's been nothing but a true ally and friend this whole time!" Papyrus cast a pleading gaze in Garlands direction.

"And so have you, Garland. You've fought, laughed, and stayed with us this whole time. Even when...even when we lost the others." 

His voice cracked only a little.

"I refuse to believe we've lost you, too!" 

Papyrus refused to believe a lot of things. How could he fight against Garland? How could Rocbouquet have such horrible powers and pretended to be a damsel-one whom he'd gone through leaps and bounds to prevent from getting suffocated? 

How could he have been betrayed?

"Please, stop."

"Please-let him go"

This bargaining over life and death really did feel familiar.*

Angela - Asvas (Tower Roof)

Angela allowed Rocbouquet to finish her little story without any interruptions. After all, the more you know about your enemy, the better. The conclusion of the story was not particularly to her liking, though. She suggested that Garland would do anything and everything she commanded him to, even bring himself to harm's way.

As if on cue, he drew his sword and advised that they all listen to 'Mistress' Rocbouquet... Which, honestly, given how he was behaving since he met her, it was totally something she could have attributed to 'regular' Garland - at least if he hadn't started calling her 'mistress' all of a sudden.

Or maybe not. After everything she revealed, she was positive that he would no longer support her, if he had not fallen victim to her spell. Or at least she surely hoped so.

"A hero?" she questioned defiantly in the end, her glare fixated on the blue-haired enchantress. "Is that really what you think you are? Don't fool yourself. You're nothing but an evil witch. What kind of heroes do you have in your world that would attempt to capture and kill those that helped them in a time of need?" she shook her head in contempt.

Papyrus defended Angela against her accusations that she would betray him. 'Angela would never do that!'

"That's right!" she added. "Why? Because he's a monster? I guess someone like you would never understand," she retorted. "Humans... Monsters... It's not what you are born. It's how you act towards those around you! If all that matters to you is to pursue your own selfish desires, betraying everyone you come across, then everyone will inevitably betray you, too. And those who believed in you will despise you. In the end, it'll be only you and those phantoms you command. A Queen of Nothing is what you'll become."

Hesitantly, she brought her staff forward, in a horizontal position, ready to release it from her hands, as if to motion a surrender. Angela had little doubt that she had every intention to follow up with her threat. She really meant it, didn't she? That person would stop at nothing to take what she wants; that much was obvious even when they all thought she was actually an innocent damsel, let alone now!

"And what about you?" she turned towards Sunset Shimmer for the moment, as Papyrus attempted to plead with Rocbouquet. "What do you hope to gain in all of this? That witch's favor? Or Chaos'? You don't strike me as so stupid as your friend over here," she motioned to Buggy.

Sunset kept quiet, observing and waiting for Rocbouqet to finally make that oaf get what they needed. She merely shook her head when Angela slapped Buggy hard across the cheek. Sunset would do the same if any stallion thought they could pull a fast one on her. He truly was 100% an idiot.

Of course, in Rocbouquet fashion, she wasted her time talking on and on about herself and antagonizing those fools. They, of course, responded as Sunset expected. How typical. She couldn't roll her eyes any harder at Papyrus's whining, and she was starting to get frustrated by it all. All she wanted was that stupid crystal, but they were just taking their time! Having to rely on this stupid witch was driving her mad and she was on the verge of just making an attempt while the others were distract them.

While considering the consequences of making such a brash move--it would just end in her getting blasted back and probably distract everyone else for the worst--Angela startled her with her question. She blinked a few times, considering her answer. No one was quite as stupid as Buggy--how could she even think to compare the two of them!

"I don't care about any of that. I just want what's rightfully mine," she finally replied, taking a few steps towards the crystal. There was a lustful gleam in her eye as she stared at it. She could hardly resist the potential power that crystal possessed, but she managed to restrain herself.

"Quit wasting time!" she said, addressing Rocbouquet, "Do whatever it is you want to do with your boy toy. It's time to end this."

He stopped for a moment rubbing his face chuckling then one of Roc's spirits snapped at him. normally he would freak out but it wasn't the first time that had happened. He stopped talking and listened to Roc's speech and then turned to look at Sunset to see what the Pony would have to say.

Buggy then decided to make a big decision and he walked over in front of where Sunset was. She was right, it was time to end this and he made the choice to stand with Sunset. Lots of things had happened between them: Snowdin, inside the tower and others to name a few. Plus, she had tried to heal him and save him before and him to her and even though he knew that Sunset would never admit it...she would rather work with him then Roc.

"Your absolutely right, Sunset! Let's end this with you in the lead as our rightful leader. Roc and Garland can do whatever they want...I'm with you...let's finish the job!"
