Yeah Stars is my favorite arc and while I've always wanted to see it properly told but I have absolutely no faith in Crystal to do it justice. Plus considering Crystal's major drop in ratings (I've even seen diehard Crystal fans began to lose faith in the show )and the negative blu-ray reviews, this doesn't seem like a decision they should even be making so early if this is true. Maybe they're hoping that Chibiusa will boost ratings. 

If Black Moon turns out better, I wouldn't say no to more Crystal, especially for a more accurate adaptation of the Dream arc of the manga.

I want to point out that the oringal anime had low ratings in the first season. It spanned into more seasons due the sales of the Moon Stick. So Crystal could go on if the sales of the merch is high.

I would like to think that as Crystal progresses it will begin to look better and feel better. Just like the 90's anime, think about how crazy the first season looks in comparison to Stars. Fingers crossed. Yeah, it's not the anime I was hoping for, but it is something and with that, I am happy.

Maybe Crystal could get better. I don't care either way. I won't be watching it that's for sure.

I'm praying that it never gets the chance. Stars is my favorite arc and I'd rather not see it defiled by Toei.

I will keep watching if they continue, if for nothing but enjoying it for the shallow reason of the occasional moments when they actually draw things prettily. And seeing the senshi I've always wanted to see in motion for art purposes. >.>

I'm sorry but I just don't get some of the comments on this page. I understand that some of you dislike Crystal or even hate it with a passion. That's perfectly fine of course - I myself hate a lot of things that others may like or love. But for goodness' sake, what's with the "Oh god, I hope not", "NO. JUST NO. This better not be a thing" and "I'm praying that it never gets the chance"? Some of us like Crystal (few of us, it's true, but there are a few who wish to see the whole series complete!) and I don't see how its very existence bothers you. If you don't like it then just stop watching. The old anime and the manga are still there; nothing about them is changing now that Crystal exists.

I just don't agree with this "I don't like it so it should stop existing" attitude.

As for the rumor, for now it's just that: a rumor. That Portuguese announcement had a few blurbs that suggest they didn't quite know what they were talking about. For one thing, it said that Crystal airs weekly in Japan. Which umm... no. The info is one Google search away; so I can't quite take someone seriously when their "official" info contains obvious errors such as this.

Personally I'm inclined to think that they made an error caused by the ambiguous arc-season relationship within the first "season". They probably just bought the first season and a misunderstanding was produced. If Crystal is indeed renewed for another 26 episodes for the entire 3 arcs, that means it'll be even more "crowded"/"fast-paced" than S1. So I hope that if the announcement has any grain of truth to it, then the 26 episode count is only for Infinity and Dream (and 3 extra episodes to spread the action a bit more, since the Infinity chapters are long anyway).

Reminds you that Sailor Moon Crystal debuted in Japan with stream simultaneously worldwide in July 2014. The first series with 26 episodes, includes the arches "Dark Kingdom" and "Black Moon" manga written by Naoko Takeuchi.

It's now on Crunchyroll as well, but it seems that everyone has the same source. I'll hold in the excitement until someone with absolutely no ties to Portugal announces it.

I've also heard France will be airing Crystal as well. I forgot where I read it. So don't trust me.

My website has also mentioned this, it's been confirmed 52 episodes of crystal will be dubbed and premiered in both portugal and france...

I'm not going to believe anything until we get more information. For all we know, it could be a glitch or a typo.

Well, I know Star Uranus from SMPT (his website is affiliated with mine) and I do know for a matter of fact he actually CALLED the network thatwas going to screen it to confirm the news before posting on his website. SMPT was actually the second website to spread the news, the first one being "Tudo por Animes em PT."

Both Portuguese websites mentioned the same amount of episodes (52), which means that the divided acts on the deluxe edition will probably be put together (IDK how, buuuuuuuuuut)

Afterwards, the director of the French department of Crunchyroll tweeted about France also having finished negotiations, so yeah...

I'm pretty sure it's real.

Basically, what this e-mail says is that there will be 52 episodes, but only the first 13 ones will be aired coming May due to a producer's request (most likely 'cuz the other episodes won't have been aired yet on nico nico).

(The same will happen with the French, but they'll start airing in March.)

Hmmm... I saw the ratings on the Japanese NicoNico today here and, well... It's dropping each episode. But the thing is. It seems Crystal is selling well in other countries, and with so much merchandise, they must be profiting from it. 
I'd love to see a proper version of Saturn, but I'm also very disappointed by Crystal lately. I just hope that Toei, seeing the drop on the popularity, decide to put more effort and more time in producing the future episodes. They did it with HappinessCharge PreCure (it was struggling in the ratings) and it paid out, the second half is BEAUTIFUL and the ratings more than doubled.

Yeah, if you compare the animation quality in the first season to the later episodes in SuperS, there's a world of difference in the quality of the animation and it looks much better.  It's the same thing with Digimon where later seasons like Digimon Savers look a lot better than the early Adventure episodes did.

Myself, I hate Tolkien with a passion but I doubt many would appreciate it if I started publicly saying stuff like "OMG they had better not make another Tolkien movie because I personally hate his stuff!". Usually I solve my Tolkien problem by... avoiding his books and movies. I'm just special that way.

Please be respectful to each other regardless on whether or not you agree with someone's opinion.

Personally, I've been disappointed so far by Crystal, but I just really want to see the Asteroids and some other characters get animated. Also I'm holding onto the hope that it'll get better, especially since the manga does get better over time.

Overreact much? I'm allowed to have my own opinion, and your allowed to have yours. But i should be able to say what i think about the series without you acting i'm an idiot.

And for the record, the only reason why i'm still watching SMC is because i'm hoping the series will get better.

I too would feel content if no more Crystal was made.
I am aware that this can seem egoistic for people who love it. But it's not up to me to decide, it's just wishful thinking. No harm no foul.
Why this desire? Because I love Sailor Moon and I don't like how Crystal is treating it. I know I can stop watching it, but that doesn't mean it won't exist somewhere, managing badly this story and these characters I love. I can certainly find a peace with that - it's just that I'd rather not to I'd be more content if Crystal's staff simply stopped touching this beautiful story with all the grace of an elephant. It's not an happy thought.

As for the example with Tolkien, it's not the same thing. If you hate Tolkien, you are not emotionally invested in it, you couldn't care less what happens to its stories, how they are treated.
To care, you should first love it and then see another adaptation ruin the story you loved.
And maybe you would be all the same at peace with that - because everyone is different - but that doesn't mean it's wrong for me or someone else to simply wish that this thing that is 'hurting' us would go away.
That's it, no disrespect for those who love it.
We are not pestering Toei, at the most we are not supporting Crystal (anymore or ever).
We are simply feeling like passionate fans.

^This exactly. For those who don't like Crystal, some better comparisons would be: 

- die-hard Buffy fans disappointed with a Buffy reboot without Joss Whedon's involvement.
- X-Men fans disappointed with the quality of other writers 
- Disney throwing out the Star Wars expanded universe
- Trekkies disappointed with the two newest films


However, no one on either side of the Crystal love/hate debate is likely going to convince anyone else to change sides easily. So please try to keep the discussion civil.

Geez, things got ugly in this thread, wow. I didn't mean to upset anyone by my post; I just would fear the certain elements and character aspects that crystal would remove, specifically ones that made me fall in love with the manga in the first place; since it is evident that they have within the first arc. It would pain me to see the astroid senshi and the starlights getting treated like they handled the shintouu; which is something we can all agree that they could have done much better. 

There is nothing wrong with being excited and enjoying the series. But this entire pro-crystal and anti-crystal is getting far too toxic. Don't bash the people who hate it, and don't bash those who like it. Also, dragging other fandoms just to insult them to farther prove your points? I expected this on tumblr, not CG.

There is a way to state opinions without insulting the opposing opinion. Sailor Moon is just a comic and TV shows. Try to remember that, please.
