| Every one's looks great!
(Brit - You turned it in at 7:55pm so you're good ^^ :p )
I'm doing a mega house clean today (in progress??) and tomorrow we are having professional carpet cleaning and errand day. We have 2 more steps.
Please be aware that my husband deploys for 7 months in about 3 days so things are a little chaotic depressing on my side. I'll try to post the next step tomorrow, we will be doing 2 things. |

| January 11, 2014 - Assignment #5 Due January 13 9am PST
- Please start by saving these two images. Image One and Image Two. Make sure they are saved as .png.
- As before, add these two to the overall header document (psd) we are working in.
- The solid color should be above Vibrancy, and the Texture should be above the Solid Color. Your Layer Order should look like this.
- Set the Solid Color layer to "Lighter Color" (NOT LIGHTEN!!!) and the Opacity to 42%. Preview of Settings
- Set the Texture (Layer 7) to "Lighten" and don't touch the Opacity.
- Take a Screen shot or save the image an upload as normal.
Notes on today's assignment: Point one is about the Solid Color Layer. Please note there ARE other ways of achieving this look. What this layer is doing is what I described above in the opening segment of this class. It's lightening all areas that are darker than it and adding a purple tone to them. This helps is bringing all the colors closer together and makes them more similar to each other. This is especially useful when you have two images or elements in your graphic that don't match in tone and/or coloring. I almost always try a lighter color, and play with how I want the layer to be. Ie, "Lighten" "Screen" "Lighter Color" "Overlay". Knowing what looks good and how colors interact when set to these various settings comes with lots of practice and playing around. So experiment!! Point two is about Textures and what I did for this image with one. The background I created for this class header is what some would call a texture. Textures are amazingly helpful, just make sure you know the rules for using one when you save them. I used a texture as an overlay in this case instead of a background. When I first added this image I didn't know what exact thing I wanted it to do. As with the Solid Color, I tested it on many different layer settings, but settled for a simple "Lighten". However as you'll notice when looking at this image, there is a see through section around the subject. I Used the eraser brush to help take away from of the effects since it was too bright. These are the brushes I use to erase AND to make my backgrounds. |

I actually ended up moving cosmos and the stuff around her over a little, the line from the lighten layer looked funny with where she was. |

| @At those with issues on the line, it's present in mine, you can see it here https://i.imgur.com/zmNmMVR.png
@Princess Moon - I think it looks great!
@Princess Luna - I think that might be because your Vibrancy level is set to 17%, Try putting it to 100%. |

| Like I said, the line will stay ^^
I am curious though how many noticed before you started working on this? Did you notice when you initially looked at my header? |

| I believe originally I didn't notice but now looking again I see it. However, looking at the finished product again, it actually gives it some balance and fits well so I see why you didn't get rid of it. ^^ |

| I noticed when I first looked at it, but didn't think anything of it until now xD One of my pet peeves is when I see lines in my work, usually from layering images and not properly blending them xD So I guess I just didn't pay any mind to it until now lol
