Character Name: Eirinn na Rhiale of the Falling Rock Clan (pronounced Erin) – Also known as Sailor Desert Rose, and First Sister of her planet, Aran Cara
Gender: Female
Age and Date of Birth: At the time she first takes up the senshi role she is 13. Her age will depend on at what point in her timeline she is in a story.
Used Canons:Concept of senshi being from planetary bodies based on Manga and Anime. Also referring to canon use of henshin phrases and called out attacks as a trademark of a senshi. This otaku character is also somewhat inspired by the stories of Wheel of Time and of Dune. ^^
Appearance: Eirinn has bright expressive green eyes that can be both open and beguiling, but also narrow and threatening with their piercing stare. Her hair is red and cascades down over her shoulders in waves. She almost never smiles, at least not since becoming First Sister. Her height is about 5'6'' and her build, while well-toned, is not overly muscular and contains feminine curves. Eirinn wears a flowing reddish cloak that protects her from the bitter cold of nights in Aran Cara. She wears long skirts and laced up boots with embroidered blouses.
As her role dictates, she openly carries one or more of several weapons, ranging from a sword, to a bow on her shoulder, to, when subtlety is needed, s knife wedged into her boot. Both her cloak and each of her weapons bear the symbol of a rose with sharp thorns. Around her neck she wears a red stone on an ornate chain. This is called the Heart of Aran Cara and enables her to transform at will

Personality: Sailor Desert Rose is an extremely serious person. She has never been seen to smile or laugh, at least not in the company of others besides her sister. She tends to be quiet while her green eyes take everything in with a sense of solemn wonder. Being still young, and with only a few years of experience as First Sister, she is wrestling with finding balance between the public person she is meant to be, and her own personality, desires, and emotions. So she has gone overboard and subdued her own personality in favor of acting the part of the responsibilities assigned to her. She does not play, and does not pursue any interest outside of her duties. This is a fact her sister sometimes chides her for, often saying she knows her little sister is in there somewhere underneath all of that weight. It is her elder sister’s greatest wish to see Eirinn find a more well-rounded balance.
That being said, she has been well trained for her age, and has proven her bravery on more than one occasion already, although she would tell you that was furthest from the truth. Eirinn is terrified to fail. Because failure would mean failing to protect her sister, the princess. And she could not bear to lose her. Since Eirinn and her sister were pulled from their clan and family to become princess and First Sister protector, all they have is each other. Eirinn, as the younger sibling, looks up to and deeply loves her older sister. She is a rock to cling to as Eirinn adjusts to such huge changes in her world.
Due to her lifelong experience living on the harsh desert planet, upon diplomatic visits to other planets with her sister Eirinn has discovered a very strong fear of large bodies of water. She won’t even step within a few feet of even a small pond if she can help it. It is one of her greatest challenges on off planet missions and one which she would like to remedy at some point in her life.
Any Unique Abilities/Skills: She can move exceptionally quietly if she does not wish to be heard. She is quite proficient in archery, but still honing her swordsmanship skills for which she is still training.
History:Planetary History and Culture: The planet Aran Cara is part of a planetary system containing four planets that have maintained an alliance with each other for many millennia. This is the planet closest to the three suns of the system called Gliese 667C. A desert planet with severe climate including alternating extreme heat and cold cycles. Water is scarce and highly treasured. Residents are partially nomadic as any arable land for farming is exhausted quite quickly as well as the local animal population. The population is limited to the amount of natural resources and threatened by some number of dangers including animals, venomous insects, sandstorms, etc. The populace in general must be hearty, strong, and clever to survive. Their social structure is made up of nomadic clans that have banded together who follow a single ruler, a princess chosen from amongst the clans to succeed her aging or deceased predecessor. There is however an interesting stipulation. The chosen princess must have a younger sister.
The younger sister undergoes serious training to become a protector, the princess’ right hand, guard, and knight sworn to keep her sister and the planet safe at peril of her own life. She is asked to choose a new name that has meaning to her, and is never again referred to under her birth name, as a symbol of being reborn into this new role. Once she assumes this duty, she is known as “First Sister” to the princess, and she carries out this sworn duty for the rest of her sister’s life and role as princess. She is to be as deadly as she is beautiful and trains in combat as well as subterfuge. The older sister also undergoes intense training but in the ways of a ruler. She too must discard her name and her ties to her old clan. She is simple known as the Princess of the Dawn.
Citizens of Aran Cara believe in an afterlife of sorts. They believe that the hard world on which they live is both a testing ground and a dream from which you will wake when you die into paradise. Therefore there is little fear of death, as it is believed death is a release from the dream they are all trapped in, and entry into the true reality in paradise. The only deep sadness would be separation from family and from the clan. Clans are very tight knit and protective of each other much like a family. Everyone has their own responsibilities to fulfill to ensure their clan's continued survival. So while the fear of death is not overly strong, a sense of duty will keep someone alive when they almost surely would have died.
Eirinn’s History: Eirinn grew up in the Falling Rock Clan with her sister Aya na Rhiale. They led a happy enough childhood even despite the trials of desert living and learned to hunt for their own food at around age 9 with small slingshots and bows. But when her sister was 15, the current Princess of the Dawn passed away of old age, and a new one had to be selected. It was the Falling Rock clan’s turn to choose a princess amongst their ranks, and all of the omens and portents pointed to Aya. That meant Eirinn was to be first sister. It was a very frightening prospect to both young siblings at first, having to leave home and undergo such intense training. Many a night they cried in each other’s arms, clinging to the only family they had left as they had to leave everything including their own names behind. Over the next year or so both siblings began to adjust and to flourish in their new roles.
Other Noteworthy Facts: Eirinn loves the idea of the rose, being both beautiful yet sharp and deadly. It was the symbol she chose for herself at the naming ceremony. She has a fairly high endurance for running and physical activity.
Storyline Specific Information:- Crystal Academy:
As part of her training, Desert Rose is sent to the Crystal Academy to learn off world customs, become familiar with other senshi and their powers, and learn in general. Her sister also has a secret mission for her, to send her there to make friends and learn to loosen up a little.

Senshi Information Senshi Name: Sailor Desert Rose
Realm of Influence(s): Fire and Wind
Henshin/Transformation Phrase: "Heart of Aran Cara, please lend me your power!" (Said in a semi-kneeling position (one knee) with one closed hand over her heart.) Her transformation power element is the jewel on her necklace as seen above, but she does not need to touch it physically.
Senshi Fuku: Her fuku is as shown below. The main colors are red and brown. She wears a tan undershirt beneath the top of her fuku which comes to thin straps at her shoulders. She has a triple layered skirt with alternating colors. At the waistline is a golden star which is a symbol used by the planetary alliance to which her planet belongs. She wears the jewel “Heart of Aran Cara” around her neck even while transformed. Her boots are flexible brown leather laced half way up her shins. She carries a curved blade with a golden hilt and red jewels inset.
Powers: 1. Dance of Scorching Sands! - This attack creates two localized hot sandstorms, almost like sand tornadoes which dance and spin around each other, which she flings at an enemy with a forward gesture with her hands. The strong winds can drive an enemy back and the heat can burn. Can be used both defensively to push back or offensively.
2. Fire of three suns ignite! - A fire attack where three miniature replicas of the hot suns of Aran Cara appear in her hands and begin to grow and spin until they are flung out as three giant fireballs.
Weapons or Magical Items: Sailor Desert Rose’s sword can be used when fighting at close range to parry attacks or go on the offensive.
Guardian: RP Sample: Eirinn leaned over the balcony, gazing down as the red glow of the first sun setting cast beautiful hues of color across the sands. She took some comfort in that the sunset was the same as it was at home. Home. This strange palace was home now, to her and to Aya. It was full of strangers, most of whom had the onerous job of scolding and yelling at her every time she did something wrong. As of tomorrow, she wouldn’t even be Eirinn anymore. She would cast away her name on the desert winds. The young green eyed First Sister in training took a deep breath of warm desert air. It filled her lungs with warmth. She had chosen a name, though she kept it a secret even from Aya. It was a symbol of who she wanted to be, of who she must be, for Aya’s sake.
Her only consolation was that Aya was going through her own trials, spending hours in stuffy rooms with white haired tutors talking about diplomacy and the responsibilities of a ruler. How she wished Aya could get free even for a minute to join her outside. If only they could chase each other around the dunes like children again. Would the pangs of homesickness never end?
She let her hand rise to the stone around her neck. She could feel it warm up gently as her hand closed around it.
Why am I indulging in these thoughts? she chided herself. She could no longer afford to be a child. Aran Cara was counting on her. Aya was counting on her and Aya was all she had left. “Please, Heart of Aran Cara…teach me to be a great warrior so I can protect my sister…” Her soft voice carried her fervent wish away on the breeze as she turned to go inside once more. She had studies to attend to.
