Character Name: Serenity Chiyoko Tsukino (goes by both "Serenity" and "Chiyoko")
Her formal given name, Serenity, is a traditional name now passed down to the first female child of the royal family. It is derived from the Moon's Sea of Serenity. Her second/informal given name 千代子 means "child of a thousand generations". It is a homage to the long line of successive rulers of the Moon Kingdom (and now the Earth Kingdom as well).

Appearance: Serenity stands at 5'9" (175 cm) and is considered quite tall. She has a slim and lithe build, and as she has reached adulthood Serenity body type has changed from the straight, flat girlish figure to a fully developed woman's body. Her limbs and fingers are long and nimble.

Serenity's hair is a curtain of thick, voluminous silken tresses that fall in long, loose curls, and ends at about mid-thigh. It is multicolored with three layers of pure white (top layer), lilac (middle, lower layer; pinkish color in reference photo is incorrect), and pale, light blue (bottom layer). She has a blunt fringe. Generally her hair is styled in a loose, curly hairstyle. She does wear her hair style in the traditional odango style of the White Moon family, but not on a daily basis. The shape of her odangos varies, depending on her mood, but she usually prefers for them to be heart-shaped. She will wear the traditional hairstyle in formal and informal situations.

Her eyes are almond shaped with thick, long, heavy lashes. They are a deep shade of liquid gold with flecks of rose gold. She is fairly pale, with a milk white even tone and no visible freckles, moles, birthmarks, or blemishes. But, she does have the standard golden crescent moon on the center of her forehead. Serenity's cheeks are a natural blush and her lips have a soft pink tint to them. 

Serenity's everyday wear is much more relaxed than most would expect. She prefers too look nice, but will always take comfort over fashion. Serenity prefers floral prints and lighter colors such as peaches, pale blues, white, cremes, soft blues, and beige. She is usually seen wearing a button up blouse or semi-formal shirt, and prefers to wear denim shorts or capris over a skirt, and her comfort is always preferred when choosing shoes. She prefers cooler, fall weather and has a large collection of sweaters and cardigans that is so abundant she is often teased lightly about having an "endless" supply.

Serenity attends a private women's university therefore her school uniform is different than Usa's. The school uniform consists of a white short-sleeved button up blouse, a dark red and gold striped tie, dark cardigan with thick white stripes that border near the edges, black blazer with the same thick white striped outlines also defining the pockets, and the university's crest on the left breast pocket. The skirt is a plaid, pleated, and approximately mid-thigh length. Serenity wears the approved knee-high white socks or black socks and low-heeled black Mary Janes. Reference photo.

Because of Serenity's desire to live a normal life she has been registered in school under a false name and a transformed appearance. This information is only disclosed to those that it is deemed necessary to keep in the know so that Serenity may have a normal life outside of the palace. Her false identity is Hanako Yamamoto and her appearance is changed with the help of a disguise pen gifted to her by her mother. In her "Hanako" identity she sports chin-length dark chestnut hair with a straight fringe and light brown eyes. She still retains her 5'9" height and build.

Personality: Serenity is well known for her grace, and demure personality among royal visitors. Anyone who has met her will thoroughly express how well-spoken, charming, and graceful the princess is. However, there is much more to Serenity's personality than just this on mask and she has striven to prove this. Typically this mask that she puts on in the presence of formal visitors to the palace such as ambassadors and visiting royalty from other planets and galaxies is sincere. She has endeavored to synthesize her various "selves" and to become her own person instead of being seen as just the princess, fearing that many who are not close with her will never know the true Serenity due to her own inability to show them. Serenity also struggles with self-doubt and becomes defensive, evasive, and anxious before she'll admit anything is wrong. She finds it difficult to “put her problems on others” and prefers to not “burden” others with her own struggles. Therefore she usually bottles up her own negative emotions.

At her core Serenity is warmhearted, sympathetic, empathetic, and puts others before herself. She harbors a passion for friendship and befriends others easily with an easy going, cheerful nature. But, she struggles to find a balance between finding her own voice and making others happy while also completing a synthesis of identity (being princess, being Serenity, being a normal student, and late on being Sailor Elysion, etc). Serenity possesses a trusting nature, and has a penchant for giving people the benefit of the doubt. She believes that there is good in everyone, regardless of their first impressions and past actions. She is good at reading others and, for her family and true friends, isn't afraid to be the bad guy if it means helping them.


However this does not mean that it is impossible to upset or anger Serenity. When her trust is severely broken she will waste no time in making it very clear that you have crossed her. Any attempts at getting on her good side when she is upset will require a well thought-out strategy and a fair amount of caution, and will usually result in a silent, cold shouldered Serenity. She can be difficult to receive forgiveness from when deceived in serious situations (she isn't angered about trifling things), and has been known to hold a grudge.

As the heir to the throne and having trained to be a senshi all of her life Serenity possesses a strong sense of responsibility. She is dedicated to her roles as a princess and future queen, and a senshi and will not hesitate to do what she believes is right. As a future senshi Serenity does not believe in killing innocent humans even if they have been turned into monsters. 

She becomes uncharacteristically talkative and sometimes flirty when over-exhausted, loves cute things, is terrified of the dark (she sleeps with a dim night light still), and believes strongly in supporting and protecting hers and others figurative and literal dreams. Her time spent in Elysion assisting her father in the dream gardens has largely influenced her outlook on others and herself.

Any Unique Abilities/Skills:
Ecopathy: The ability to create, manipulate, and speak to flora native to Earth and the Moon. This allows Serenity to influence flora native to both celestial bodies to do her bidding. She can create small flowers and other various flora out of thin air. She discovered this ability, dormant and later awakened by her grandfather while in Elysion, and has been trained by him specifically. She is not a novice, however at a more advanced stage she could control multiple forms of Terran and Lunar flora as well as create it out of thin air. She uses this skill to influence her gardening hobby as well as her assistance in Elysion helping her father take care of the gardens within that contain the flowers holding the dreams of all people.
The Golden Crystal: Generation of energy via the Golden Crystal; energy can be destructive or healing in nature, and is capable of purifying an individual of dark influence. Serenity has little to no power over the Silver Crystal since her sister, Usa, is Sailor Moon. With Serenity's influence stemming from Elysion it is her duty to power and utilize the Golden Crystal in a positive manner as well as to protect the dreams and beautiful dreams of others. 

History: As the eldest child of the royal family it had always been assumed that Serenity would awaken as Sailor Moon. As a result she has been trained to be Neo Sailor Moon from an early age up until her younger sister, Usa's, awakening. Usa's awakening came as a shock to everyone but the now newly awakened Sailor Moon's sailor senshi duties and training were quickly transferred from Serenity to Usa. This left Serenity feeling slightly abandoned and forgotten, as well as without a purpose beyond her royal duties, duties in Elysion, and everyday life. She was slightly bitter about this, but never expressed it.

So, Serenity's focus turned towards Elysion where most of her free time (when not with friends or Usa, or solely training to inherit the throne) had been spent since early childhood. Elysion had always been a haven for Serenity and a wonderful place for the princess and her father to bond. She had always cherished the beautiful, rolling hills that contained an endless array of gorgeous flowers all housed the individual beautiful dreams of all the people in the universe. Many times as a child Serenity had expressed her desire to take over caring for the Elysion gardens and temple whenever her father chose to step down, if at all. 


Her dream was achieved, in part, when her father was attacked by Nachtmar and Serenity awakened as the newly realized Sailor Elysion, protector of beautiful dreams. Her acquired senshidom was in a way a realization of a small segment of Serenity's own beautiful dream and she accepted the position readily, resuming senshi training along side her younger sister. Having trained in Kyūdō all of her life Serenity's natural senshi-specific item/weapon was her yumi and ya (Japanese bow and arrow). It is capable of piercing nightmares and corrupted beautiful dreams in order to purify them, and can be used to eradicate protective barriers among others things.

It cannot be ignored that after Serenity's awakening as Sailor Elysion (and experience in battle) she has questioned the validity of senshihood more than once. Despite the pride of her duties that she feels, and knowing that the fate of the universe can and will potentially lie on her, her sister, and allied senshi there have been many times when Serenity has wondered if her senshidom is as valid as her fellow senshi's-- particularly Usa's. These thoughts have only increased with with the threat of an actual, true enemy approaching. Serenity fears that this will prove her unworthy of being a Senshi due to her conflicting feelings, and also drive her fellow Senshi to view her as invalid, useless, and unworthy of her title.

She is currently attending her first year at a women's private university studying botanical medicine and botany. All of her life Serenity has expressed the desire to be a normal person before she ascends the throne and has even gone to school all of her life under a created false identity and changed appearance. This information has only been disclosed to those that it is deemed necessary to keep in the know so that Serenity may protect her secrecy. Her false identity is Hanako Yamamoto and her appearance is changed with the help of a disguise pen gifted to her by her mother. In her "Hanako" identity she sports waist-length dark chestnut hair with a blunt fringe and light brown eyes. She still retains her 5'8" height and slender build.

Sailor Elysion wears a white bodysuit. Her sailor collar is white with three thin gold stripes placed close together near the edge. She has three-tiered shoulder wings that are a translucent sea green. Her short pleated skirt is white with a translucent sea green skirt directly beneath it. Where the skirt attaches to the body suit there is a v-shaped light blue waistband. Her front bow is white and her transformation brooch is situated in the center. Affixed to the waistband at the small of her back is a sheer light blue ribbon no longer than her skirt with a pair of white wings and a golden jewel in the center. Her tiara is the traditional "V" shape and bright gold with a light blue jewel in the center and a small teardrop-shaped jewel hanging directly from the bottom point. Her choker is a set of twin, thin gold metal bands. Her gloves are white and elbow length with a downward V-shape light blue strip of color at her wrists, the bottom point situated towards her fingers. She wears small golden studded earrings with golden crescent moons suspended from them. Situated above her bangs are barrette clips that are three gold pearls with three feather coming from them. Her shoes are white high heels with a pointed toe and a strip of gold pearls around her ankles; at the back of her heels are wings.

It was raining outside and Serenity had taken the first chance she had to leave the palace and head outdoors. On rainy days Serenity would often be relieved from her duties for the day and take the opportunity to stroll through the Crystal Palace's private inner gardens. There she would listen to the chirps and trills of songbirds as they went about their day, ignorant of the rain. She would always grab a translucence umbrella so that she could gaze above her at the rain drops splattering against the plastic.

The palace gardens were always beautiful, but when it rained she loved them most. The air was fresh and clean, and the whole world seemed to shift ever so slightly. Children played in puddles and pools of mud, couples walked hand in hand beneath a shared umbrella, and many a citizen stayed indoors to read or play games with their families. The possibilities that unfolded when it rained seemed endless, but to Serenity they were more importantly different.

Serenity was so lost in that as she strolled along the soft pitter-patter of cat’s feet didn't reach Serenity’s ears. A loud meow however did reach her ears and she turned just in time to see Phoebe, her companion, leap up into her arms. The princess let out a wordless exclamation of surprise as she barely caught the feline while making a desperate attempt to not drop her umbrella.

“There you are, Serenity. I’ve been looking all over for you.” Phoebe said, daintily licking her rain soaked paws. She squirmed slightly as Serenity shifted her small body.

"What for?"

"I thought we could enjoy the rain together." Serenity smiled at that and bent to kiss the cat's head. Today was going to be a good day.

It's quite interesting how her sister was the first to awaken, claiming the title of Sailor Moon, and yet she is still her own senshi as well. I like how it has created this turmoil for Serenity. It's neat to read xD Also, Phoebe sounds adorable!

Could you just mention in her physical description if Serenity wears the traditional odango-type hairstyle that is normally associated with the White Moon family? Since it is such an iconic hairstyle, I think it would be interesting to mention whether or not Serenity keeps that tradition =]
