| Advanced Character Profile Character Name: Crysdal Aglaea Ianuaria (brightness, splendor from good health/adornment)/(sounds a little like "January-ah" but with an I instead of a J XD) (music)Gender: FemaleAge and Date of Birth: 16Used Canons: Manga, HC EventsAppearance:Crysdal has a slender form, unearned by her personally but gained through lucky genetics and the occasional “adventurous” romp through the countryside, alongside a diet watched over by an assortment of people. She isn’t extremely tall, but she isn’t short either - she’s still growing, but her current height is somewhere near 5’6” - something she considers a respectable height, but she doesn’t really put a lot of thought into it. Her skin has a healthy glow about it from spending her fair share of time outside in the fresh air, but it is obvious that she tries to take care of it with the right cosmetics - not only with natural moisturizers, but with nail paint (pink is her favorite), a light shade of pink lip balm, eye makeup (both a darker shadow on her lids and pink accents running from each bottom lid down the corresponding cheek bone, and from the top of her lid up to each temple), and, during some ceremonies, white face paint that highlights her brow lines, her cheek bones, and the dimple of her throat. She doesn’t mind the paint or the attention it takes to put it on - and once all is said and done, she rather likes the effect it has, especially in making her blue-grey eyes stand out.Her sand-blonde hair is long, reaching the small of her back, with longer bangs on one side of her face; half of her head is shaved. Each year on her birthday, the left side of her head is shaved for “good luck”; the gesture had more meaning than that -- something about longevity and wisdom and etc., plus it was a lot easier to paint on symbols when that side of your head is shaved -- but after that they just let it grow back in. She’ll clip it close when she feels it’s getting past fuzzy and into fluffy, but, typically, the hair on the left side of her head is about ¼ inch long, while the hair on her right is cheek-length, chin-length, or straight down to the middle of her back. Regardless of length, her hair is thick and strong, and typically holds whatever shape she puts it in; it likes to hold waves.Crystal’s ceremonial attire is beautiful. She loves it, despite only getting to wear it a precious few times per year. It was designed for her before she was even born, and each year on her birthday her measurements taken and the dress altered or remade completely to fit her perfectly. The dress itself is a deep rose pink near the top that fades in color to a softer, lighter pink towards the bottom. The main gown is sleeveless and sheathe-like, held with golden thread around her bust and supported with golden chains and decorations that hold it to her arms so it will not slip, and with a thick golden belt across her waist, keeping the front close to her body before the belt slips in through the fabric at the sides and seems to disappear as the silky texture swallows it, fanning out behind her so that her backside is not visibly hugged; the bottom of the dress is loose and easy to move around in, should all the material be well gathered. Her arms are similarly adorned, with thick golden material keeping the pink-hued fabric in place above each elbow, then fanning out beautifully below; the edge of each sleeve is also trimmed in the thick golden material, and is scooped so one end of the sleeve is stitched at the back of her wrist, and the other end hangs free, nearly to her knees. To finish the outfit are two necklaces of gold, one tight on her throat, the other loose across her collarbones. A gold-chain tiara rests on her brow, adorned with red and clear jewels that drape elegantly across her forehead or in her hair.Crysdal’s usual attire includes loose-fitting white pants that end at the knee under a deep-pink tunic-length sleeveless top with a high neckline; there’s a cute triangular cut-out of her cleavage she usually ignores - unless it’s to tease someone about if they take too much notice of it. Then, depending on the season, she’ll either match it with a white belt and wear white detachable sleeves and pink knee-high boots, or throw on a sleeveless shrug and pink-and-gold flats. While she is a princess, she doesn’t really need to stand out beyond her facepaint.Personality: Much of Crysdal's success can be attributed to her father's "Fake it til you Make it" mantra, which she has taken to heart. While deep down it might not have been in her nature for these traits to be at the forefront, after years of practicing it's now second nature to her, and she honestly couldn't tell you if she really were that trait, deep down.- Traits and Explanation:
Confident: Crysdal knows that one day she will be a leader in some capacity, and so practiced from an early age doing extroverted things that others may not have been so willing to do. She will choose to go first, choose to raise her hand, to offer suggestions. She may make a few mistakes, but she chooses to laugh them off rather than let them get to her. She's fearless when it comes to trying things first, because, ultimately, she knows she would've eventually tried them anyway, so why the hassle and drama? Just do it. In the same vein, she doesn't get embarrassed easily, especially when making a mistake for something that she, and everyone else in the room, is learning. Someone had to make that mistake, why not her? She is very much not afraid to be the pioneer.
Outgoing/Social: With potential Diplomacy in her future, Crysdal tries her best to be affable in all social interactions. She strives to be friendly and approachable, but not a push over. She'll extend the olive branch first, will offer her hand when someone falls, and won't laugh when someone is uncomfortable. She tries to make people feel at ease and help them when she can, but won't compromise who she is in the process. She likes to attend parties and enjoys being surrounded by her friends. With people she knows well (and even those she doesn't (see 'fake it til you make it'), Crysdal can be overly playful or affectionate, and enjoys physical contact. She flirts for fun and to see how flustered she can get a person - sometimes she and her friends can go really far before someone cracks up and the game is over. She's had exactly one crush so far, and they never figured it out because they thought she was just playing with them when she flirted; their family moved before she realized what the problem was (she was scratching her head over why it wasn't working) and just confessed. She regrets never telling him, but she's pushing past it - it wasn't serious, anyway.
Suppressive: Crysdal suppresses a lot of her more genuine emotions in order to seem like a stronger person. Fear, disappointment, embarrassment - she'll bury these rather than feel them as she thinks that would make her weak to admit they are there, and instead pushes her more positive emotions to the surface to cover the weaker ones beneath the surface. One she is sometimes unable to easily hide is jealousy; while she is nonpossessive most of the time, if she feels like her place is threatened with a person she really likes, she gets downright grouchy to both parties.
Judgmental: Crysdal trusts people easily - she herself tries to be honest, and believes others to do the same, so for her, everyone is trustworthy until proven otherwise. But, while she tries not to be, Crysdal can't help it. She can assume the worst in people when a poor example arises. She can't so easily forgive and forget, though she can act like she has both forgiven a person and forgotten the incident. She will act like she's over and above it, will sometimes pretend that she can't recall the offending incident, but she does. She can hold secret grudges and sometimes judges people on moments they should not be judged on, assuming their worst moment to be who they really are. She's tried working past it (Pretending to be over and above it could eventually make her over and above it, right? Fake it til you make it) but sometimes it just doesn't work. Her mother advises her to remind herself that everybody's human. Everyone's faults make them human, and she should accept their faults as part of who they are and still continue to love and value them for it, but sometimes she just can't get the knack of doing that.
Relationships: Crysdal adores her mother, and loves her most of all. Her mother is her confidant, her adviser, her chief role model, and her best friend, though her mother encourages her to confide in friends her own age. She loves her father, and their relationship is one that is filled with laughter and jokes along with some quick, teachable moments; when she was younger, he was her partner in crime. She doesn't really know her grandparents, though she has started going for advanced lessons to her Grandmother, when her Grandmother has the time.
Dreams/Goals: To be a respectable diplomat, like her mother, and honor her family name and title, continuing to make her country great. Since awakening as a senshi, her goals have expanded to keeping her country, and her world, safe, and helping her teammate, Elysande, with her political problems back in her country.
Any Unique Abilities/Skills: While not entirely useful, Crysdal can speak 5 languages fluently, is well versed in ancient folklore and traditions, sings beautifully (Ianuarian traditional celebrations include a lot of singing. She really sucked at first, so it's been a long, hard ride to earn her singing voice), and can perform traditional dances rather well. Nothing without hours and hours of practice.History: Crysdal Aglaea Ianuaria is the Crowned Princess of the nation of Ianuaria of the planet Aegle, a beautiful world of which she has seen very little but has learned a great deal about; however, her title is completely unnecessary as the Monarchy was disestablished in Ianuaria in favor of a republic that thrives to this day; her family continues to keep their titles and ceremonial importance pretty much for nostalgia and national pride, only. However, it is expected of her to one day serve the Republic as its primary diplomat - if she is up to the task - or a charming figurehead with little-to-no power if she is not. Her parents serve the position admirably: her mother had the royal blood, as had her mother before her, and when she was not visiting allied countries she spent most of her time with Crysdal, teaching her everything she knew and attempting to instill within her a reverence for life and the good within everyone. Her father was a smooth talker - he could have been very much at home being a confidence man, which made him an especially good resource for her mother to take advantage of in tricky dealings where she needed someone that could sell ice to snow-dwellers and make them feel like they got the better deal. While he didn't necessarily attempt to pass his craft onto his daughter, he did teach her how to con herself into being more confident than she felt, and how to project or control certain emotions in troublesome situations to make her life easier in the future. Everyone wanted a beautiful, charming, confident Queen who was in charge of her emotions all the time and yet was empathetic to everyone's needs and wishes, and he believed the only way that could really happen is if you faked it.She wasn't born with a silver spoon in her mouth - it was golden, thank you very much - but from a young age it was drilled into her that her circumstances made her no better than anyone else. And, indeed, they really weren't. Besides having a larger estate with 2 hired helpers, Crysdal's family didn't have any other sort of leg-up in society. Their old palace was now used as the building for the senate; only the comparatively-modest personal affects were taken into their family home. Upon retiring from their position, the elders - her grandparents on her mothers side - resided in the palace to be at hand for quick decisions. When her mother retired, she, too, would move there as Crysdal took her place and, as head of their home, would be able to change out the furniture with that found in the palace if she so chose. So far, though, from the great-grandmother that ended the monarchy on down, her family wasn't that extravagant in their tastes. The golden spoon was more a joke for them than a sign of wealth, a reminder of where they came from and what they owed their countrymen, rather than a status symbol used to lord over others. So Crystal was raised with the notion that everyone was an equal - but some of those 'equals' had to spend "leisure" time learning ridiculous things like dining etiquette for all bordering countries and participating in seasonal ceremonies to welcome in the new year, while others had chores wherein they cleaned or organized something or other. Equals. It didn't really bother her except sometimes it did, and she didn't take advantage of her position except sometimes she did, and she somehow made it out to be a generally well-rounded teenager who realized the understated power of her position but only used it when she felt there was no other option.Everything was going smoothly until, during the Spring Festival of her 15th year, a visitor stumbled into the city, completely oblivious to the celebration happening around them, and nearly made problems for everyone when they reacted almost violently to being randomly kissed. Crysdal stepped in and managed to lead the stranger off and out of the parade's route without making too big a scene, and it was then that she felt her life truly changed...Note: the below is being fleshed out elsewhere, but this is the general gist of what happened!Within the next few weeks, Crysdal met three Sailor Senshi and awoke as a Senshi of her own - Sailor Aegle, Senshi of the entire planet of Aegle. Her counterpart was Sailor Alshain, whose powers, it was explained, originated from their Sun. Their initial training was overseen by two "visiting" senshi who had come to their planet sensing "Chaos" growing in their southern hemisphere; finding that they, their planet's senshi, were not yet trained in their powers nor really knowing each other, the two took them under their wing and mentored them as they tracked down and ultimately defeated the Chaos inflicting their planet. While Crysdal did not personally participate in that final battle, her new "teammate" did, and she helped clean up the mess afterward. Having tentatively made a new friend from a different country, she promised to one day help her free her family from their predicament. After that the "visitor" senshi, Sailors Enyalius and Achelois, left, heading for another planet with Chaos that needed eradicating. Not five months later, the pair of senshi of Aegle were visited yet again by another visitor, but this one was decidedly less friendly...Other Noteworthy Facts: Pheonixes are commonplace on Aegle, though their reputation there is nothing like what it is on Earth. While they have similar descriptions: red birds with wings that can sprout fire who die only to rise again from their own ashes, the Pheonixes of Aegle are far less regal. They are, in fact, dumb as bricks, more like sissy peacocks than anything. They're easily frightened prissy idiots who explode at the slightest of threats. Crysdal's family has one that has been with them for generations as a kind of pet; that struts about their yard; while it used to have a beautifully elegant name, it's now affectionately known as "Dimwit."While Pheonixes are sometimes used as slang to call someone an idiot, Eagles, on the other hand, are regarded as being very noble and badass. Storyline Specific Information: Made for the HC Event Concatenation Series
- Conscription: Aegle and Alshain are pulled from their planet and into service to do their duty as Sailor Senshi to cleanse a planet of it's Chaotic influence. She doesn't know most of her teammates, save Elysande, and isn't exactly excited about the venture, but she's determined to keep her spirits up and get through this.
- Conviction: Their time on planet Cipiere had been... daunting, but they had made it through. Despite the odds stacked against them and the all too confusing intervention by an old Hermit, a soft, gentle, kind old man who had given them potions that were poisons and, after their great battle, the Crone, a cranky and irritable old woman who healed the hurt caused by those potions, Crysdal didn't know whom to trust. Without the other dedicated healer to back up her ministrations, Crysdal was nervous about their new endeavor on the desert planet of Destore, but she was determined to do her best and save as many innocent people as she could.
While intending to use the compass given to them by Sailor Jin, Crysdal could not ignore the towering smoke off on one horizon when they passed through Destore's atmosphere, and the destruction they had found of a city of that world was heartbreaking, but not nearly so much as Crysdal's inability to follow after the culprits and their potential victims through a great cave-like tunnel on the outskirts of the town, the rest of her team hesitant to divert their attentions when the tunnel did not lead to the Chaos on the planet that they were meant to fight. Crushed, she flew away with them. They found the great evil only after they were attacked by human-sized Crow people, the battle ending as their flying enemies swiftly retreated and an enormous and terrible worm surfaced; in that first meeting with the monster, Elysande was eaten. Desperate for answers, they chased down the survivors of the attack and convinced the pair to help them save their world, finding that the Cawthians did not want to serve the worm but their society had been infiltrated, some of their people brainwashed into serving Chaos and taking control of their government; in what felt like a fluke, the conscripted team followed them to their capital and intended to unite the rebellion and clear the city of the monsters that plagued them; that night, as Crysdal attempted to deal with Elysande's loss and her failure to save the then-unconscious Gabriel, she bonded with Sam, and took it upon herself when the Hermit paid them a visit to take the lead in conversation with him, having been instructed by the Crone to hide their knowledge of his true intent from him less he anger and do more to harm them. Their attempt to save Cawth succeeded, but they lost two of their number in the battle - Sailors Cosima and Alshain. Without enough time to mourn, as the longer they waited the more prepared the Worm became, took advantage of their hero status and lead the Cawthians into battle against the Worm and its subjects. In the end, it was Nyx and Hemera's final attack that destroyed the creature, but Hemera was killed in the worm's last strike.
- Conflagration: Days passed. At the end of the battle against the worm, each of them had felt a disturbance in the energy surrounding them, and each felt an anxiety that they could not place, attributing it to stress and the loss of four of their members. Sailor Jin had not contacted them with a new mission, and in their downtime they attempted to cope. Until, on the day of the memorial for their fallen friends, a new Sailor Senshi landed and requested their help: Sailor Venus, of the opposite side of their galaxy, needed backup in her attempt to find and secure the Tapestry Crystal, a powerful gem used by the Queen of their sector. Venus explained that if the gem fell into the wrong hands, the war would only get worse. This time, the team volunteered to help, following Venus into space, through a nebula, and into the Zhi System.
They had to leave Venus behind when the planet Zhi was in sight, a powerful agent of Chaos that was stronger and moved faster than any of them had surfaced and challenged her; to buy them time to get to the surface and find the crystal, Venus acquiesced. She didn't catch up.
- Consecration: They landed in a city that had become a battlefield. All around them creatures of chaos lurked, flying low over head, creeping through the streets strewn with debris and the dead. Anxiety growing, the team moved through the city towards the pull of the Tapestry Crystal; in an ambush, Gabriel, whom Crysdal had become close to, whom Crysdal had been watching out for ever since they had met the Chaos Agent, whom would not react to them anymore, seemed to act reflexively in saving her and died in her arms.
They kept moving. Upon entering Zhi's castle grounds Crysdal was anxious to hurry and find the crystal; two new senshi - foreigners to their part of the galaxy - appeared and were willing to help, but after a short conversation with Sam, Crysdal made the first move, stepping over a bridge and disappearing into an elaborate maze illusion woven by the tapestry crystal. Racing past the guardians - a pink donkey named Pinky and Constance, the blue hippo - she moved quickly through the maze, despite the calls of her companions, and worked to keep away from the small white rabbits that seemed to be another defense mechanism of the maze; they encountered captured chaos creatures in the walls, but when finally they made it through they found the Tapestry Crystal... with Shen, a scared little girl who had been tasked by Queen Zhi to guard it. Working out that Shen was Zhi's daughter, with General Zhao now into the maze, they all worked together, combined their powers, and Shen unleashed the power of the Tapestry Crystal to destroy the chaos agent. With them, all of Zhi was cleared, and in an unexpected bonus, the chaos agents nearer to the planet and the surrounding systems retreated, afraid of the sudden loss of their commander. Not long after, the Sailor Senshi who had died on Zhi, including Queen Zhi herself, reappeared, having been brought back to life... Sam with them. And Gabriel. And Elysande. As Zhi's court worked to stabilize the region, Crysdal teamed up with Nyx to go back to Destore and reunite with Hemera and Elysande.
- Continuation: Two months after the events on planet Zhi, Crysdal and her friends, some of whom she hadn't seen in nearly the full two months, were chosen to go with Sailor Huo to represent Zhi's court at a conclave run by older, more powerful senshi. They were to learn whatever they could and bring back that knowledge to strengthen Zhi's system as the War against Chaos continued.
Character Relationships:
- Elysande, aka Sailor Alshain: Best Friends!♠ ... Crysdal is a little more enthusiastic about it than Elysande, but she likes to play and so their dynamic suits her.
- Gabriel, aka Amarachius Sworn: Good Friends!♥ Having been each other's confidants during their conscription, Crysdal will always have a place in her heart for Gabriel; after the events on Zhi they went through some missions together, mostly with him serving as her protector on the battle field as she attempted to heal as many good guys as she could. There could easily be something more than friendship between them, but neither have attempted to take the relationship further.
- "Sam", aka Sailor Chalybs: Good Friends!♥ Crysdal thinks Sam is curious but dependable; she doesn't fully understand the technology that encases the girl - the moment when she removed her head - er, helmet - the first time was interesting to say the least - and sometimes she doesn't understand the girl beneath, but she truly likes Sam and enjoys getting to know her; their differences are exciting to her, if sometimes bamboozling (why doesn't she like to be touched? Crysdal loves to be touched??). Their relationship could swerve into "more than friends", but they would definitely have to work on their cultural differences.
- Hadley, aka Sailor Valdis: Crysdal sees Hadley and immediately just wants to take care of her. She's not exactly the "mothering" type, but something about Hadley brings it out in her, despite Hadley being close to her in age. Maybe it's the height. Either way, if possible, Crysdal watches out for the little redhead.
- Quote :
Senshi Information Senshi Name: Sailor Aegle (Ae-g-lee, rhymes with Fleur de Lis)(brightness, splendor from good health/adornment) Realm of Influence(s): Affection Henshin/Transformation Phrase: Aegle Power, Make Up! Senshi Fuku:
Powers: Aegle's healing powers are all based on affection; the more affectionate/friendly she feels towards someone, the more powerful her healing powers are for them. Knowing this, she will always try to find something to like in everyone, secretly terrified that, when it really counts, she won't be able to help them otherwise.
- Aegle Kiss! Sailor Aegle will, in some way, kiss the intended target with her lips - whether via kissing her hand and blowing them a kiss, kissing them on their hand, their cheek, or their lips. As with all of her powers, the effectiveness depends on her feelings for the target. Disliking them would do nothing to them. Liking them would heal them a little, really liking them would heal a lot.
Loving the target, whether platonicly or romantically, can revive them. LIKE SLEEPING BEAUTY AND SNOW WHITE WHAT?!
- Aegle Butterfly Kiss! Sailor Aegle can use Butterfly Kisses (... blinking close to someone's skin so her eyelashes brush their skin) to remove HP-reducing status effects. Most effective when butterfly kissing forehead to forehead
isn't that lovely. Examples of statuses: poison, bleeding, burn
- Aegle Hug! (Level 3) Sailor Aegle can hug or hold someone's hand (for several seconds to minutes) to remove non-HP reducing status effects. Either method (hugging or holding hands) is as effective as the other, longer duration may be required to fully remove the effect, otherwise shorter duration just hold it at bay. Examples of statuses: confusion, panic, fear
- Aegle Eye Contact! (Level 5) (Can be used silently...) Sailor Aegle can share meaningful glances with people to convey emotions or short ideas across long distances (almost like telepathy with short empathic bursts), allowing for nonverbal eye-contact communication. Once staring at them, they can almost hold a conversation silently. Can be used as an attack, too, by glaring at a creature. Causes status ailments that reduce HP; status ailment chosen randomly.
Weapons or Magical Items:
- Aegle Crystal The Sailor Crystal of Aegle; power only tapped, not truly awakened.
Similar to senshi in the Dark Kingdom Arc, she can "level up" and become more powerful by accessing more of her crystal's true strength. A change in her transformation phase denotes the amount of power that transformation is drawing, from standard power (current), to Planet Power, to Star Power, to Crystal Power.
- RP Sample - Conscription Start:
"Okay, let me try again," Crysdal said, leaning her elbows on the small white table, looking across to Elysande - who still refused to go by 'Elly' - and mentally reviewed the slew of unfamiliar names over again. Ever since hearing Elysande's story, she had vowed to try to help her whatever way she could, and while they had done some good, there was a long way to go. However, like her mother said, to truly understand a country, you needed to know everything you could about their history. Only if you know their past could you gauge what they may do in their future, so she had had Elysande quiz her on the lesser-known history of her country. "The old Empress - "
A shriek cut her off and she straightened in alarm, looking towards the source - and groaned, rolling her eyes as she looked to the sky for strength. "Dimwit! Shut up!" she called, silently hoping the idiot of a pheonix had bitten the dust again and they'd have a few days of peace before his moronic fledgling form started bumbling around the estate and setting things on fire again. "Can you believe some people believe them to be elegant? I swear, if it'd do any good I'd strangle him..." the world trailed on her lips as a winged figure dressed in orange and yellow landed in the garden, practically within reach of her. "... myself."
"Sailor Senshi," she projected, though there were none around but they to hear - her parents were out of the city on business for the week. "By Order of Queen Xhi, you have hereby been conscripted to serve on the side of Cosmos in this Sailor War. Transform, and we will be on our way to your first assignment destination."
“How do we know you are who you say you are, or that this Queen is real?” Elysande asked critically, a question Crysdal definitely appreciated, noting that, in times like this, she herself was a little too trusting. She had been ready to request a moment to write a letter to her parents and get going, but, luckily for her, Elysande was much better with her fact-checking. She could have been one of those - those Chaos people that Enyalius and Achelois had warned them about, and there she was, ready to just walk into the trap.
"It figures this backwater planet hasn't heard of Queen Xhi," the senshi mumbled just above her breath. Crysdal frowned, not enjoying the implication. "But, as you haven't heard of her, then how am I to prove she is real? Whether you believe me or not, you will be coming with me, whether of your own free will or knocked-out and tied up is your choice."
She could do it, Crysdal just felt that to be true. When the other two had met them, she had felt this odd sensation coming off of them - their energy - and this woman felt no different. Either of that pair could have squashed them with little effort, so it made sense that this woman would be able to do the same. It was unfair. A weight fell over, making her feel claustrophobic in the crisp, cool air - they had no choice. Was this what Elysande felt when working for the Soliels? Regardless, refusing the offer promised to be a futile endeavor, so before Elysande could have the chance to courageously get herself offed, she stood, with a smile. "Then it looks like we'll be coming with you," she said with a small laugh, shrugging her shoulders slightly. However, she did not transform yet. "Might we have a moment to inform our families, so they don't worry about us needlessly?"
The cruel line on the senshi's face softened, and she nodded her head jerkily, looking off into the gardens, double taking, and looking back at them with a hand pointed to a small fire growing in one of the bushes. Dimwit. Crysdal shrugged apologetically, and the senshi went off to deal with the flames - which was nice of her - as Crysdal hurried to find stationery. She handed a piece of paper and a pen to Elysande, then hurriedly scripted her own note to her parents and paused. "Do we tell them the truth, or do we make something up for them so they don't worry?" she asked of Elysande, glancing over to see the foreign script on the other girl's paper. HCRP Awards!
