Character Name: Usagi "Yume" Tsukino, Crown Princess "Sweet Dream" Serenity
Following the tradition of her heritage, the eldest daughter was given the names of her grandmother and mother before her—Serenity and Usagi Tsukino. Her surname, 月野, contains the kanji for "moon" and "field". Her first name, うさぎ, is the same as the common word for "rabbit". When pronounced, it sounds like the phrase, "rabbit of the moon", which relates to Japanese folklore.

Her parents took to calling her "Sweet Dream" almost immediately upon her birth, and the use of this nickname spread throughout the castle. The little princess was referred to by this nickname for many years, but when she reached her teenage years she expressed that it was "too childish" to be called by such a name. At this point the general switch was to "Yume," functionally the same in meaning, but less "babyish" to their dear princess. Still, those who have known her since her youngest years frequently call her by the other name instead.

When she is disguised and mingling with the populace of Crystal Tokyo, such as for school, she uses "Yume Chiba" as an alias.

Used Canons: Designed to be inserted into the Sailor Moon universe in either manga, 90s anime, live-action, musicals, or Crystal timelines. This character did not exist in any universe.

Appearance: Princess Serenity is a young woman of moderate size, standing at 167cm (about 5'6") and weighing an average amount for her height. She has a slender build with a shapely figure. Her skin is a warm creamy peach colour. She has beautiful golden eyes just like her father. She has long eyelashes, long legs, elegant fingers, and a beautiful profile—in all ways, she is a princess her people can look upon and adore. They could not have asked for a more lovely young woman in the royal family.

Her long hair is a soft lavender blue, trending more towards violet or blue in different lighting. It is very smooth and has a fair amount of wave and body. When left down, it reaches the floor. When appearing to the public as Princess Serenity, she wears her hair in two high pigtails. Carrying on the tradition of "odango", although not specifically considered buns, each pigtail is topped with a cluster of three twisted loops that look vaguely floral in shape. A few strands of hair curl in front of her ears. Her bangs, although still parted down the center to highlight the golden crescent moon on her forehead, resemble the hairstyle of Priest Helios more so than Queen Lady Serenity.

The princess dislikes this hairstyle and anything else that has her looking like a copy of her mother and grandmother. Left to her own devices, she pulls her hair back into a thick low ponytail with a few tendrils curling in front of her ears.

As the Crown Princess of Crystal Tokyo, she is most often seen in a variety of formal dresses in shades of white or pastels. They are usually floating and elegant in design—the way the public wants to view the princess, not anything related to her own tastes and preferences. She wears makeup constantly in the public eye as their princess and almost never when not being scrutinized or photographed. As an attendee of Crystal Tokyo High School, she wears the blue uniform that seems mostly unchanged from its years in centuries past as Juuban High School. Other common attire for the princess is her Kyudo uniform—a white Kyudo gi top and black hakama.

Personality: Studious, graceful, kind, warm-hearted, and gentle—Crystal Tokyo could not have dreamed of a princess they could be more proud of.

If only they knew that she hates every minute of their attention. The pressure of being "good enough" has always weighed on Serenity's shoulders. From birth, everything she did has been scrutinized and compared, particularly to her mother and grandmother, both legendary in their own rights. There is an endless amount of support for her, no matter what she does, but the risk of failure has always been terrifying. As soon as she was cognizant of how much everyone expected of her, Serenity has thrown herself into meeting and exceeding the endless expectations.

She is a perfectionist, always wanting things to be just so. Always striving to be better than necessary—the best is the only option for her. When things go wrong, she doesn't visibly sulk about it, but she will beat herself up internally. Serenity is her own harshest and most exacting critic. She struggles with very low self-esteem because she holds herself to impossibly high standards, feeling forced to do so with all of the focus on her as the Crown Princess of the realm.

Serenity feels trapped, like there is no moment that is truly her own. News stations report on her favourite food, on her test scores, on whether or not she caught a cold. Everything in her life is documented. Anything silly or embarrassing she did as a child comes back to haunt her on a regular basis, because it's all part of the public record. She never has a moment to relax. The eyes are always watching; the ears are always listening. She cannot do anything that is not befitting of a princess, because someone might share it and ruin her reputation.

The stress of this has been building over the years, it is not something that the Queen and consort have been ignorant to. If it were not for the loving support of her mother, who lived through some of these same concerns as a young girl, and her father, who has such a warm and calming presence, Serenity would have flew to pieces long ago. It was her mother, thinking back to the years of living in the 20th century, who suggested they secretly enroll Yume in a public school under an alias. The Queen hoped that interactions with those who didn't know her daughter as the princess would help. Her father encouraged that she spend time with him in Elysion, tending to his official duties. It was calm and peaceful there, a perfect place to learn meditation and stillness. It was Princess Serenity's own suggestion to take up the martial art of archery, Kyudo.

These have helped manage her stress levels, but have not alleviated them. The first attempt to enroll her in the local junior high school coincided unfortunately with a number of regal affairs that negatively impacted her studies. The continuation of her private tutoring in the palace prevented her grades from suffering, but they found she was missing too much school to continue her guise of a normal student. It was only this year that she was enrolled at the local high school, and she has yet to find her place as a new transfer student. The other students, although not unkind, are not so welcoming that they can overcome Yume's significant boundaries to contact with others. She wants so badly to be free of her role as the princess, but she is terrified of betraying her true identity or threatening it in any way. This keeps her isolated from the very people she is trying to meet.

It is working with her father where she feels she has found her calling. The duties of Elysion, tending to the extensive gardens and protecting the dreams of the people... That is something she wishes she could do instead of someday ruling over Crystal Tokyo. She feels at peace when she is there. If only she could spend more time there, following her father as he performs his role. Her archery studies, as well, have been a way for her to center her focus and ignore the fears of failing to live up to expectations.

Princess Serenity yearns to break free—to do something truly unexpected and liberating... if only there were no repercussions. She is bound by her fears of failing to perform as the princess she is expected to be. She feels lonely, knowing that she has no one she could call a true friend—nothing like the bonds of friendship between the original Sailor Team or her mother and the Sailor Quartetto. She is friends with her sister and her adviser, of course, but that is not quite the same.

Serenity dotes on her younger sister. She was too young at the time to understand why everyone else was so shocked, but she loved her little sibling from the moment she first saw her. Serenity has a protective and caring nature, and that is most visible in her interactions with her sister. She never minded being followed around or asked to play. In fact, as she got older she became more and more concerned with protecting her sister from the stress of her own life. She didn't want the second princess to have to go through everything that the first did. For this reason, even though the two are close, Serenity has never expressed some of her deepest fears and feelings to her sister. She doesn't want to burden the younger.

Although Serenity knows that she has contributed to the carefree state that her sister can enjoy, she sometimes feels pangs of jealousy. She doesn't want to put the stress of her life on her sister, but she doesn't want it for herself, either. Witnessing some of the moments where she can see just how well she has insulated the younger from her own struggles can be emotionally confusing for the elder princess. She feels some of the same jealousy when others compliment her sister on being "just like" her mother, grandmother, father, or grandfather—Serenity herself wants to be recognized as a unique entity, but she tries so hard to meet everyone's expectations based on her heritage. If her sister is commented on performing well without even trying, it makes Serenity feel particularly unappreciated and a bit like the only thing she's good at is in jeopardy (although she is reasonable enough to understand that it is not).

At this point, as much as she wants to be her own person, she's deeply afraid that maybe there's nothing left in her other behind that facade she tries so hard to maintain.

Any Unique Abilities/Skills: Princess Serenity has demonstrated affinity with both her mother and father's powers. She is able to support her mother's control of the Pink Crystal with her own emotional wishes. She can help her father tend to the dreams and gardens of Elysion as he performs his tasks as Priest.

History: When the princess was born to Queen Lady Serenity and Priest Helios, the people rejoiced. It seemed a symbol of the continued peace and prosperity of Crystal Tokyo. Another daughter of the White Moon, her forehead marked with the same golden crescent. The realm had an heir! Everyone was certain that this Princess Serenity would follow in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother, protecting them as Sailor Moon when her powers came of age and someday ruling as Queen of their expanding domain when her mother retired.

During those first few years, Princess "Sweet Dream" Serenity was loved and adored by all, and still too young to understand the pressures of being such a highly-anticipated child.

When the Queen became pregnant again, several years later, the people were in shock. Was it not accepted and known that the Queen could only have one child—a daughter? How could this be possible? The rumors and confusion that circulated cast all sorts of bizarre suspicions on the royal family. When the second princess was born, clearly a child of the White Moon as well, this fervor relaxed—but some of the tense concerns that surfaced at that time never truly went away.

The eldest daughter was the Crown Princess, and it was her that would someday take on the mantle of her mother and grandmother before her. Partially out of necessity and partially to quell the whispered concerns of the people, Sweet Dream began her training at an extremely young age. Private tutors, extensive practice, academic subjects, diplomatic subjects, culture, decorum, and (of course) training for the sailor soldier-to-be kept the young girl extremely busy. She excelled at it, and the better she performed the more responsibilities were heaped upon her.

Her parents expressed concern for the girl's workload, but she always insisted it was fine. In fact, the princess was so terrified of being considered a failure that she was unable to admit how hard it was to manage so much. The coverage on the news or just in social media was not something they could hide from her—Princess Serenity knew that when she tried to be the very best princess, the people thought positively about her. She couldn't risk her reputation. She couldn't suddenly be less than her mother or grandmother had seemed to the populace.

There were several attempts to find ways to modify the princess's intense training. An attempt to send her (in disguise) to a public middle school, thinking that time to interact with those who did not know her position as royalty would be beneficial, did not work out, but the same thing was attempted more recently with high school and seems to be progressing in a more positive way. Just before her teenage years she began spending time with her father in Elysion, something she truly loved the opportunity to do. She feels at peace there; it has provided a much-needed way for the princess to set some of her worries aside for the time being. Of course, she also has love and kindness from her little sister, the closest friend she has at the moment.

It was always expected that Princess Serenity would someday become Sailor Moon. When she did not show any indication that she would transform—although she did seem to be able to exert some minor influence over her mother's Pink Crystal—this was attributed to the unprecedented peace in their world. Queen Lady Serenity and her Sailor Quartetto had fought no enemies for several centuries prior to the birth of the first princess. The Solar System seemed safe and perfect. What need would there be for a Sailor Moon in these circumstances? Still, the assumption was that when the time came, Princess Serenity would unlock those powers.

When instead her younger sister awakened as Sailor Moon, it was a terrible shock to Serenity. As much as she resented being constantly compared to her predecessors, she had been waiting her whole life to become Sailor Moon. She felt that title and powers were hers by right. She had trained so hard, honing her skills and focus for the day when she would protect her world as their champion. How could she have been passed over? It seemed too cruel.

But almost immediately the fledgling sailor soldier was in danger, and Serenity's disappointment was not enough to prevent her from taking action to save her little sister. She jumped in, ready to fight in whatever way she could. In that moment she felt a strange power filling her body, something warm and familiar. She did transform into a sailor soldier—but not one she had ever expected to be. Instead, she transformed into a new soldier: Sailor Elysion.

Other Noteworthy Facts: She has a younger sister who is the new Sailor Moon. (Currently I intend to have Sailor Moon / Tsukino Usa "Bunny" as her sister.)

Senshi Fuku: Her uniform is clearly inspired by her connection to her father, Priest of Elysion. All of the white on her uniform has a slight blue tint. She wears a white bodice with a curved seam just below the bust. Her sailor collar is white, and two golden stripes trace the edge. Her sleeves consist of large padded band of pale sea foam green at the armscythe of the bodice. From that, two panels of sheer chiffon in the same hue drape down her arm, the length reaching just above her elbow. A short pleated skirt in white with a pale sea foam green underskirt is attached to the bodice with a thick v-shaped ribbon of light gray blue forming the waistband. This ribbon circles around her waist to the small of her back, where two sets of small white wings emerge. At the center of the wings, the ribbon is tied into a small loose bow that drapes down with extremely long tails of the ribbon reaching her ankles. At the center of her chest is a sheer white bow. Atop the bow is a narrow-diamond shaped golden brooch with large white wings.

She wears white gloves that reach a few inches above her elbows, the end marked by a large white cuff that forms a slanted outward-facing edge. Just before the cuff is a thin band of pale sea foam green piping. Centered with the peak of the cuff, a golden bead with a large pale gray blue tassel is attached to the piping. A ribbon of the same pale gray blue forms a v-shape at the back of her wrist. Her shoes are mid-calf mid-heeled white boots with wide and loose cuffs. Around the ankle are two thin bands of pale sea foam green piping that meet at the front center of the boot. At that location is attached a golden bead with a large pale gray blue tassel.

Sailor Elysion wears a choker of two loose thin golden hoops. Two thin anklets in the same style are worn on her left ankle. Her earrings also fit the theme of thin golden hoops. Her golden v-shaped tiara is thinner than those worn by her mother and grandmother. At the nadir of the tiara is an oval bead of pale gray blue. Dangling below that gem is a teardrop-shaped bead of ruby—the style of the adornment on her father's forehead. In this form, her hair returns to the formal style of pigtails and "odango" she wears as Princess Serenity. At the top of her head, just in front of each "odango" is a decorative pin of three gray blue beads (even lighter in saturation than the other shades of pale gray blue on her attire) with three longer almond-shaped beads fanned out from there. This is similar to the style of hairpin worn by her mother and grandmother, but the size is larger and the placement is different.

Powers:
• "Sleep Paralysis!" (low) - She reaches up and plucks from the air one or more small, narrow darts that bear a resemblance to the tassels on her uniform. Sailor Elysion whips her arm out, sending the dart(s) flying towards her opponents. Any that are struck will find themselves not only attacked, but suddenly unable to move. This is able to destroy very weak enemies, but is mostly used as a maneuver to prevent her opponents from attacking or running away.

• "True Reflection!" (medium) - Sailor Elysion closes her eyes and spins around, crossing her arms over her chest. She opens her eyes and pushes her palms forward, her fingers curled around some unseen frame. With a shimmer, a large mirror (made only of energy) in the same style of the Dream Mirrors once sought by the Dead Moon Circus appears in her outstretched hands. The clouds above her part, and a full moon is seen in the sky even if there was no such phase at this time of month. A beam of moonlight shines down on the battle, striking the surface of the mirror and setting it ablaze with light. The light collects into a beam that targets the enemy.

This attack destroys creatures that cannot be redeemed or purifies those acting on behalf of Chaotic evil. It can also be used in a more defensive manner, to reflect energy-based attacks back at their sources. When used in this way, it is much quicker to perform, as it then consists of Sailor Elysion summoning the mirror and using it to volley the energy away. The moonlight gathering is the more time consuming aspect of this attack, and that is needed to concentrate dream power so that it may be used to purify.

• "Golden Arrow Purification!" (high) - The gemstone in her tiara strobes twice with a bright light, and behind her the crystal forest of Elysion can be seen, glowing brilliantly with energy. Sailor Elysion twirls around and poses, reaching out her left hand as the Morpheus Bow coalesces there. She does a brief balletic move and poses again, this time ready to draw. As she targets her opponent, a gust of wind blows past her, kicking up billowing lavender clouds. Her right hand pulls back the bowstring, and when it is fully drawn a beautiful arrow of brilliant golden light appears in the bow, hoovering there. When Sailor Elysion releases the string, it shoots forward at blinding speed, leaving a trail of starlight behind it. The arrow is absorbed into the form of the foe and fills them with light.

This attack destroys or purifies a single target. It is rather draining for Sailor Elysion, as it takes a high degree of concentration for her to focus her powers in this way. However, she is capable of using it multiple times in a single battle without threat to her life.

Weapons and Magical Items:
• Communicator - Serenity's handheld communicator resembles a rectangular smartphone. It features a touch-screen, and can be used to video-conference with registered contacts; receive text, voice, or video messages; and perform minor calculations and analyses of opponents.

• Luna Pen - This item, originally belonging to Tsukino Usagi who became Neo Queen Serenity, belongs in the Royal Archive. Remembering stories of its use in the past, the current princess "borrowed" it so that she could get out of the palace without being identified as royalty. Thankfully, she is able to use its powers of disguise in the same way that it was originally used.

• Golden Jewel Mirror - This item permits Serenity to transform into Sailor Elysion. It is a small, hand-held folding mirror that has an external design reminiscent of the Dream Mirrors once corrupted by Queen Nehellenia. It has a golden metallic finish and is marked with a small image of the Golden Crystal with small white wings at the center of a sea foam green bow. Inside there are two mirrors, one that has a silver sheen and one that has a golden sheen. They resonate with Serenity's heart, and can be used for scrying that can depict an event currently occurring, provide a vague warning about something that may happen in the future, or give clues from the past.

• Morpheus Bow - A large bow ornate bow, taller than Sailor Elysion's height, designed for Kyudo. The bow itself is a pale sea foam green, with a very thin golden string holding it in curve. At the bottom is a charm consisting of three large golden beads in increasing size with a pale gray-blue tassel hanging from the beads. She uses this bow with arrows of dream energy for her purification attacks. There is no need to carry a quiver. It is not suited for physical combat, but the bow is sturdy enough to withstand force if necessary.

• Golden Crystal - A beautiful crystal that glows with warm golden energy. It frequently appears in the guise of a multi-faceted cut gemstone, but sometimes takes other shapes as well. This is a focal point for her abilities as Sailor Elysion.

Guardian: Trivia - This navy blue short-haired cat with silver eyes and a golden crescent moon mark on her forehead is the daughter of Diana and Napir. Napir came to Crystal Tokyo shortly after the birth of the crown princess, a new and eager ambassador from Mau. He fell swiftly in love with Diana, and settled permanently on Earth. Trivia takes after her mother in many ways, and for this reason she was trained to advise the eldest princess. She is extremely proud of her job, but not altogether very good at keeping tabs on Serenity. The two are very close friends, but the princess is not terribly inclined to be ordered around and her guardian is not particularly effective in enforcing guidelines. As much as she tries not to, she dotes on her charge.

RP Sample: Serenity tied the satin bow on her school uniform with trembling fingers. When she glanced up at the face in the mirror, for a moment she felt confused. She didn't see Crown Princess "Sweet Dream" Serenity of Crystal Tokyo. There was no ornate tiara perched upon her head. No long pigtails, twisted up into decorative shapes to be further adorned. No dress of yard after yard of white silk and lace, chiffon and ribbon, pearls and beads. Her fingers reached up hesitantly to touch the center of her forehead where the golden crescent moon mark had always been.

Would this work? Would they really not recognize her?

Could she keep them from learning the truth?

"You look perfect, Sweet Dream!" echoed the cheerful praise from a very familiar voice. Serenity turned around to see the navy cat bound into the room, gracefully stepping onto the dresser and peering over at her charge.

"It's 'Yume', Trivia!" she reminded, shaking her finger at the feline. "'Yume.'"

The name still felt strange on her own tongue even though she'd been begging since age 13 for her family, their friends, and everyone working in the Crystal Palace to call her by that instead of "Sweet Dream". Now it would be more than a nickname. It was on her school ID, written inside of her brown leather book bag, and scrawled on all the official forms and documents.

"Chiba Yume," Serenity practiced, golden eyes looking curiously at the stranger in the mirror. Who was Yume Chiba? What kind of a girl was she like? Would she get along with her classmates? Would she be a loner, instead?

Yume Chiba was a new person. But Serenity still wondered... was she... herself?
