I'm all for having Kyuubey jump in and explain that Usagi is different and special, but I'd love it if first one of the other magical girls could notice that Usagi's soul gem is not tarnished and be surprised by it.

I have posted! I didn't mention Usagi's soul gem in my post since she hasn't really held hers out, or done anything to draw attention to it yet.

And I kind of just wanted to get the possibility going that the girls would give out their names xD It's difficult to differentiate everyone sometimes haha

Dumb question,

Is Usagi supposed to know that her soul gem doesn't turn black, or will it all soon be explained? Because Usagi volunteered to not use it ready, and it can be for 1. Being nice, doesn't know, or 2. Doesn't want the other girls to notice.

Usagi would know, yes. I mean... she would have to notice, lol, since Soul Gem is a physical object that she can see. (And Kyubey would have told her this is unique to her.)

And if it's unblemished she would have no reason to use Grief Seeds all this time, so it's up to you whether she's been collecting them or just disposing of them. (If she collected them, she would be happy to be able put them into good use now that she's found other girls who need them.)

The movie is extremely condensed, so they took a lot of details out! You should watch the entire series as it's only 12 episodes anyway

Cheat Sheet:
- Soul Gem = the object magical girls use to transform, which also contains their soul (upon contract their soul is extracted and put into it for safekeeping so their body is more like an empty vessel. This is however a fact that is not widely known by magical girls. They usually just know of it as their transformation device and magic source.) Every time a magical girl uses magic using it, it gets slowly blemished. When it gets completely corrupted, the magical girl turns into a witch (again, not a fact widely known by magical girls. They just know if it turns black they can't use it anymore. Also, it's kind of inevitable that this would happen... but yeah, Kyubey hides all these facts.)
- Grief Seed = the object that drops from a witch once it's killed. It could cleanse the Soul Gems when held near it. The reason most magical girls hunt witches (for the less noble ones that is)

Okay so I'm going to make my post, but I have a question. Is the goal to get them all to agree at this moment on joining together? Or are we going to have the girls separate, and have another by-chance meeting with the next witch?

I was going to have Minako give Usagi her business card or something like that (whether or not she gives it to the other girls is kinda a mental debate right now), and say that if she ever needed anything to call her or something like that xD. But I won't do anything until I know what the next step is

It's fine with me either way! If you guys think it makes sense for your characters to agree to work together now, you can agree. Ami will probably be tentative but surrender to peer pressure lol.

I'm not sure where we're supposed to take this after the girls reluctantly agree to partner up, but if someone could establish that here I'll post for Kyuubey and try to shove everyone in that direction.

I think there should be some relationship development between the different characters at some point, but that's just an idea.

They should form that bond slowly but surely. Definitely not instantaneously. They'll go back to their homes tonight and will meet again in another witch's labyrinth. Maybe they exchanged numbers so they could contact each other if they need back up?

Or! Their second meeting could be in a more ordinary setting. Perhaps some of them go to the same school. Or they run into one another in a public place, as ordinary girls. The dynamic will be a bit different there, I think.

Oh! What about a ~strategic meeting~? To discuss everyone's weaknesses, strengths, and how best to tackle witches since during battle they don't always have a lot of time to talk strategy? That way they can work more effectively with each other.

What I need from Kyubey right now is for him to tell the girls that Usagi is a more special Magical Girl and she needs protection from witches going after her soul gem (haha I almost said star seed wtf). He could say that if a witch gets a hold of it, the effect could be catastrophic or something. Basically, he's shoving them into the roles of her guardians. Which they would have to take in order to protect the rest of the world.

I could see the girls saying that they will work together to be kind of diplomatic, and maybe even eager to work with eachother, but then when the time comes, they don't really want to call the others for various reasons.

At least, that's what I kind of envision for Makoto. That, if she were to get into a fight with a witch, she wouldn't want to call everyone (even though she's actually quite open to the idea) because she would feel as though she were bothering them in some way, and didn't want to be an inconvenience.

Oh, yes, I can see that happening too with Ami. She's not exactly thrilled with having "teammates" now. We need someone who can yell at them about not sticking to the plan xD There will be so many conflicts and clashes and I love it already. ♥ These girls will be a trainwreck to begin with.

I love all the ideas that Merc suggested ^^ They all seem plausible. I know when I saw a picture of a Chevy Cruz (car) I was like one day I want this car! And then I started seeing them all over the place. I highly doubt that everyone went out that night and bought one xD I just never noticed until it was brought to my attention.

So I think going to school or maybe the mall for food/shopping might be a good place to start! Then they could progress to strategy talking, I feel like Ami would be the one to bring that one up =P

I like the school idea. Although Minako doesn't go to school, but since she's an idol maybe she's talked about often by people in high school. I think a meeting somewhere would be a good idea. I feel like there's a lot of explaining to take place between the girls - who they are, what their abilites are, how long they've been a magical girl, etc. And then, of course, strategy.

Okay, so school probably won't work for all of them.

And OMG, I just went all in the PGSM direction and thought they should accidentally see each other in one of Minako's concerts because what they all have in common is that they're all Minako Aino's fans. xD

But that probably won't work since none of them even batted an eye when they first met Minako. Dang. xD

Alright here is the plan for our next meeting! I'm gonna do an Ami post in a sec that takes place the next day.

Some of the girls can go to the same school (you all can decide who goes to Juuban High and who doesn't, but if we wanna refer to canon it would be Ami, Mako, and Usagi).

They could see each other as school ends and they're walking home. They could decide to talk and hang out in a cafe or the game center or something. Then on the way there or at the place they could run into Rei and/or Minako (if you don't decide they go the same school).

basically I'm just gonna fast forward to the day after and have Ami walking home and you all can decide how to bump into her xD

If they girls decide to stop at the cafe or something, I could have Minako already be there for her daily caffeine when they arrive.
