Sailor Nocturnus

Sailor Nocturnus kept near the back of the group entering the room, and when the bars slammed down to block the doorway the hair on the back of her neck rose and seemed to freeze in place. The monsters that poured in drew her attention to the front of the room, but just as quickly something nearby caught her eye. She turned just in time to see a beam of light aim right for the tiny fairies.

She screamed, shrill and brief terror, as it engulfed them.

Sailor Nocturnus wanted to find and rescue the Solar System sailor team, but she was unprepared. She was just barely more than a child. She couldn't even begin to imagine what an actual fight was like--and this time, her mother was not there to protect her. She stammered and took a step back, but there was nowhere to go. The room was sealed.

"This time, you can't run," she thought, trembling.

She thought of the party held by Neo Queen Serenity that seemed so distant now, even though it was not even a week away. She thought of the queen's warm smile. She thought of the pink-haired princess who had shed tears for her story. Is that how she would repay their kindness? By running? By abandoning them? Leaving other people to fight just to keep herself safe? How safe would she be, exactly, if the thing that whisked those powerful people away kept collecting? Maybe she wasn't interesting now, but what about her mother? About everyone else?

Black eyes narrowed and she set her mouth in a firm line. Yes, it was scary. Yes, she knew little. This time she was not going to run.

This resolve seemed to unlock something in her heart, and she felt a strange lightness.

As the monsters closed around the group, Sailor Nocturnus stepped forward, golden stars on her uniform glinting in the darkness. She could feel power flowing through her, and words were slowly forming in her mind. She watched carefully as the monsters approached, knowing somehow that she could not attack effectively from too far a distance.

She raised her glowing hand, and slowly began to outline a golden arc in the air. Her soft voice called out the words. "Ecliptic... Rotation!"

Final note: remember, no one actually dies. ... just gets knocked out a little.

Her blade cut through the lesser enemy with ease, she turned to attack another when her attention was drawn to a new attack... and the little senshi that had conjured it. Her mind worked to memorize the usefulness of the ability, taking into account its range and effectiveness; all in all, that was a great first attack, if it truly was her first. 

Her momentary inattentiveness to her surroundings cost her as a sword found purchase on her and, by the look of it, on nearly everyone else in their group. She spun in an attack, her sword aimed for [[Minion K]] as she looked for Achelois - their survival depended on her - and, after a moment of confusion, looked up. She shouldn't have been surprised by Achelois's ease of using all three dimensions, and was greatful for it, until she spotted the arrow that had so expertly hit its mark.

Eyes narrowed in anger, she turned her attention to their enemies and struck forward towards the smiling goon with a bow [[Minion L]], striking at him in a lunge.

Mini Boss B 20HP

Io had been too occupied with seeing Sailor Solar and Lunar Eclipse get abducted to defend herself, and one of the sea of minions struck her. She backed up and refocused herself on the task at hand.

 "Three Ring Pulse!" She threw a shockwave of electromagnetic power at [[Minions K L and N]], aiming to remove the already injured ones from the battle. The quicker they thinned out the herd the better.

Sailor Splash walked down the hallway as a disturbing look crossed her face. There was something pushed out of the wall, something that Sailor Splash knew didn't belong.... this item belonged in her world. This stone was the missing piece to a building in her city back home on Aqua. It came from a historical gathering building in the center of her town. When evil was first on her planet years ago, a stone in the structure went missing, but no one thought twice about it. It was assumed that the evil on her planet had simply "blown up" the missing piece. It looked like her planet had visitors besides the known evil residence that once occupied her planet. 

Her boots clicked down the hallway. She followed behind the rest of the gang at the tail end as she entered the dome room. Out of nowhere, strange being appeared and Sailor Splash was caught off Guard by Minion F. Out of fighting instinct, Sailor Splash raised her left hand and shot a powerful magical spark that was created by her Gem of Aqua.

Shadow loosened his grip on the sword, attacking [[Minion C]] with a heavyhanded cutting strike. Once these repulsive dregs were thinned out, he would look into dealing with their overseer.

Keeping an eye on the bored normal-looking enemy, Enyalius recovered, nodding to Io in thanks for finishing off the sloppy job she had made of her last attack. She felt Achelois's healing energy wash over her, healing her wounds as the magic spread over her and others. For a moment she entertained engaging him, the leader of the room, but as he had yet to attack, she focused instead on the 8 beings who were attacking wildly, most hitting their mark. They could all deal with the other later. She decided her next target would be the being focusing on the newly-awakened senshi; the girl may have just found her attack power, but might not know much of defending yet.

She made short work of covering the distance between herself and her youngest ally; her sword finding the monster Nocturnus had weakened -

and ending it. She offered the young senshi a supportive smile. "Nice job, Sailor Nocturnus," she complimented, her eyes turning back to the fray, both hands holding the hilt of her sword as she evaluated where she might be needed next.

Sailor Nocturnus

When the golden energy expanded outward and hit two enemies, Sailor Nocturnus could barely believe it. One of the monsters managed to strike her in the aftermath, but soon Sailor Enyaliis came to her aid. She didn't have time to relax, though--Minions I and J were closing in on her. Spurred forward by her earlier success, she repeated the gesture from before.

"Ecliptic Rotation!" she cried, aiming as best she could at the two minions.

The boss was out of her range and also beyond her current skill.

OOC:

Seeing a metaphorical light at the end of the tunnel of enemies, Sailor Io turned her next attack on [[Minions D and E]], pouring as much effort as she could into it. Remembering Sailor Enyalius' yell from the earlier battle with the swordsman, she used that exact sound and amplified it to power her Io Hertz Wave.

Io only defeated one before the second minion closed in on her It hit her hard, sending her to the ground and knocking the breath out of her. Now very bruised and annoyed, Sailor Io flipped back onto her feet and directly attacked [[Minion E]] with just her fists, going for a sloppy but powerful left hook. She wasn't a martial artist, but she had been in her fair share of street fights after school.

For a few moments after his quarry crumbled beneath the wrath of his blade, Shadow considered the merits of insulting his foes aloud. For all their grotesque appearances, the scrambled soldiers' effectiveness varied wildly; they rarely survived long enough to suffer a second blow. Minion G closed in on him with a wickedly barbed halberd, and it took most of his concentration to deflect the strike away from his head and towards the floor. A growing warmth in Shadow's shoulder reminded him that the defense was only partially successful.

That's when their captain decided to make his move, lashing into Shadow's exposed backside and reopening wounds that were acquired from the first skirmish with those creatures. Though painful, it served to breathe fresh air into what was otherwise a one-sided battle.

"What's the matter? Did I knock over too many of your men?"

Shadow circled around [[Minion G]] and [[Mini Boss B]], then rushed towards the halberdier and his leader with a swift hewing strike.

Sailor Andromeda

The next room was vast with a high ceiling, which automatically drew her attention upward. She could see the stars far above, and immediately wondered if this would be the last time she saw them. The sound of the slamming door behind her made her jump, and the metallic bars that appeared right after didn’t make her feel any better. Instinctively she looked up again, at the only possible way out. Could she fly again? And if so, could she break that glass and escape when she needed to?

Just when she thought that, a hole appeared above and more enemies started pouring in. Her thoughts immediately changed from exit strategy to battle. One of the soldiers dropped down right in front of her, catching her completely off guard. She barely had time to move out of his sword’s range and it cut deeply into her shoulder. Letting out a painful cry, she almost dropped her own blade, but managed to keep hold on it on the last second. The sight of pouring blood from her wound made her dizzy, but she forced herself to concentrate.

As she dodged further attacks and tried to gain her footing so she could attack, she felt magical power washed through her, energizing her. When she dared to glance at her wound again, it had healed considerably and the blood had stopped flowing. She had seen one of the other senshi do this to the others and made a mental note to thank her later.

Her original attacker was now fighting someone else, so she would have to swallow her pride and let the other senshi handle him. Instead, she focused on the unengaged Minion H and charged forward with her Chrome Blade. She then stood at the ready, falling into a defensive stance.

Sailor Nocturnus

The attack from one of the minions sent Sailor Nocturnus flying, her small body skidding against the ground and slamming into the back wall. It knocked the wind out of her, and she struggled to stand. The injuries before had been easy to ignore with the adrenaline of battle, but now she cringed. Shakily, the sailor soldier climbed to her feet, unsteady on her heeled black boots.

The powerful Sailor Enyalius dispatched one of the minions, but there were still several in action. At a distance, the boss engaged a tall man in combat. He had been the one originally attacked, but so far she had not learned much about him. Sailor Nocturnus stood up straighter, wincing as her bruised body protested, and re-entered the fray. Sailor Io fought Minion E nearby, and the Minion I that had injured Sailor Nocturnus approached again. Concentrating, Sailor Nocturnus unleashed her attack again, then braced for impact [defense] if one of the minions managed to hit her in the aftermath.

Sailor Bellatrix


As she saw the two tiny senshi turn into pure energy before disappearing completely, Bellatrix became distracted. Those poor girls. They were captured now too. What was this Collector going to do to them? Would they be safe until the rest of the group could go find them again. This was the first time Bellatrix had seen the kind of kidnapping technique that the Collector used, and she could barely believe her eyes. This Collector had to be stopped at all costs. It wasn't up to him to decide the fate of innocent people!

Bellatrix became enraged, her control remaining only by a thread. She would save those tiny senshi. She would save everyone, and kill this damnable Collector herself! She would kill him. Kill. Kill!

Her mind went blank.

When she came to herself, she was surrounded by blood and battle. It took a moment before she realized that it was her blood. The pain washed over her with the realization, and Bellatrix stumbled back. She was wounded. Badly.

Clutching at the gaping wound in her side, Bellatrix stepped back away from the thick of the battle, trusting in her comrades to fight for the moment. What had happened? From the looks of it, not too much time had passed. Bellatrix cursed herself, and fought against the disorientation that always accompanied her Berserker state, and tried to focus on getting herself reacquainted with what was going on.

Minions filled the room, battling against the others in the group. Her spear was clean and unused, so she guessed that the attacks against her had caused her rage to subside before she could have done any true damage. She was thankful for that, at least. But now she was here, in the background, doing nothing while her friends were fighting.

Friends? The word had come easily, and it was true, wasn't it? They were not perhaps friends in the traditional sense, but no group could go through all of this without forming some sort of bond.

Bellatrix shook her head to clear it of these thoughts. This was not the time to get sentimental. Injured or not, she needed to help. She struggled to get back up, idly wondering when she had sat down on the ground.

A warmth, pure and inviting, enveloped her once again, allowing her strength and health to return to her. It was like before, but almost as if it were in a more concentrated form, and Bellatrix knew there was only one person who could do such a thing.

She would have to remember to thank Achelois a thousand times for her help.

Bellatrix stood without hindrance now, her spear held confidently in her hands. It was odd to think that she had been in pain and bleeding only a few moments ago. Running into the battlefield, Bellatrix glanced around, searching for the place she was most needed. It looked as though most of the minions were defeated, and the few that remained were engaged in battle already.

So she turned her attention on to [[Mini Boss B]] and she ran towards him, intent to use one of her special maneuvers. When she was only a short distance from her target, she jumped into the air with her spear directed right towards [[Mini Boss B]], and though normally she didn't yell the words, this time she cried out "Bellatrix Amazon Twist!" as she began the descent.

Arch had his adrenaline pumped against Minion I, and slashes him from behind!

"Arch, don't forget the Riposte," Cheered Rayden.

The smaller enemies had fallen. Enyalius's mouth twitched in a cruel smile as she glanced upward, Not such a massacre, was it? she thought in a challenging tone, turning her gaze on the lone survivor of the group; if he had attacked earlier, his movements might have been lost in the spree; he could have gotten some attacks in, done more damage; instead he had waited, and it would cost him. With a powerful push forward, Enyalius sprung, sword poised for impact against Mini Boss B.

Enyalius fell to the floor, a gash in the armor at her side where he had struck her. Sticking out her good leg, she spun around to face him, seeing that similar blows had been dealt to both Shadow and Bellatrix. She scowled; she should've considered why he waited 'til the end. 

The man was incredibly strong.

Sailor Nocturnus

As the minions collectively crumpled to the ground, relief washed over Sailor Nocturnus. She couldn't have imagined victory only a few minutes ago, but now hope glimmered. As a warmth washed over her body, she felt her wounds heal. Amazed, the small soldier glanced over to see Sailor Achelois concentrating, gently restoring the other sailor soldiers. It was amazing. She was so thankful for the generosity and care. She didn't feel 100% better, but she could move without searing pain.

Finally, it was time to fight the formidable foe. The leader rushed in first, and Sailor Nocturnus looked forward to cheering her on to victory...until the enemy struck her down.

He was so strong! Sailor Enyalius was strong, too, but she couldn't be expected to do this alone. It was possible, but it was very dangerous.

"We need to fight together!" Sailor Nocturnus pleaded to the others in the room.

Sailor Io's fist connected with the minion's face with a satisfying crunch. The enemy rolled to a stop on the ground, unmoving. It seemed like the rest of the room had been handled except for the leader of the pack. And the way he handled three opponents at once proved how powerful he was. Not wanting to go anywhere near him in her still injured state, she kept her distance and held out her hands.

"We have him outnumbered, we can take him!" she said, agreeing with Nocturnus.

"Io Hertz Wave!" The concussive sound of a revving motorcycle engine was thrown at [[Mini Boss B]].

Sailor Nocturnus

When Sailor Io attacked, Sailor Nocturnus followed suit, aiming for Mini Boss B. "Ecliptic Rotation!" 

She was careful to maintain a distance close enough for her attack, but not too close, and remained on her guard [defense], expecting that he would return their volleys.

Bellatrix winced at the fresh wound; she had been unprepared for how strong this being would be. Her attack didn't seem to have done as much damage as she had anticipated either. Damn, that was kind of annoying.

But she was ready when she heard the others preparing for an attack. It was better to attack together than to attack at different times. They were supposed to be a team, after all. It felt good to be a part of a team once again.

She nodded at the other senshi who were now moving forward as she joined them, holding her spear tightly. She attacked with a piercing forward thrust at [[Mini Boss B]].

Shadow's mind, reeling from the sensations of being healed and harmed within moments of one another, was hastily coming up with a plan. It centered around assumptions about the guard captain's confidence in his abilities Could that foe's pride be pitted against his better senses? He did just allow his minions to be beaten while barely lifting a finger on his own.

Though [[Mini Boss B]] did not respond to his earlier barb, Shadow decided to pry further in an attempt to enrage him to the point of tunnel vision. Perhaps he could keep pressure off the Senshi and spare them some additional harm, or perhaps he just wanted to show Enyalius why she had to keep a clear head with mind games.

As he kept his weapon up in a defensive posture, Shadow hurled a stream of scathing invective at their common enemy. "You waited this long to fight?! You're not very smart at all. In fact, you wouldn't know how to pour water out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel!"

He lunged forward once more, eager to cut down what was left of the captain's resistance.
