| I found S3 to be a mixed bag and my least favorite of the 3. While the other 2 seasons had its highs and lows, the good outweighed the bad points. S3? Not so much. Almost half of the episodes felt really...off, to me. I hated "Spike at Your Service", that episode was terrible and my personal worst episode of the whole series, the only thing I really liked about that ep was the Timberwolves (Fun fact: that was the Rarity episode, but it underwent many rewrites. They should have just nixed it). For the highs, I really liked the Crystal Empire 2 parter, Magic Duel, One Bad Apple, and Keep Calm Flutter On (even though that episode would have been better if it was a bit longer).
As for Twilicorn, I'm staying neutral on that until I see how it affects S4. As of right now, I'm okay with the whole Princess thing but the execution was all off. Supposedly the beginning of S4 ties into the S3 finale making it a 3 parter, so, once again, I'm gonna wait before I pass full judgement on whether of not Twilicorn was a good idea, or if Hasbro killed it when they got greedy and wanted another princess to profit from. |

| I, too, will wait until Season 4 to get a clear judgement on Twilicorn. I'm not bothered by it at all as of right now. There's optimism on my part on how she turns out to be. |

Lauren herself mentioned that she had plans since the beginning of having Twi promoted to a position of higher power, and it shows throughout. So even if the princess thing isn't what she had it mind, it still fits. Which is why I'm okay with it now. Was it a good idea or bad idea for such a drastic change (for obvious toy promotion reasons) to happen so soon? We'll have to wait and see. |

What do you mean? Well, Lauren Faust (the main creator of MLP: FiM, and I'm not going to bother putting spoiler tags on this because shes no longer working on the show), said somewhere in her many Q and A's that her ultimate goal for Twilight was for her to become Celestia's successor. If you look closely there's subtle foreshadowing hints for this all throughout the first 2 seasons, the biggest ones being in the 2 part premiere episode, her flashback in Cutie Mark Chronicles, and the fact that her element is shaped like a crown. Also, her own name: Twilight, which is the time between dawn and dusk. S3 continued this trend of foreshadowing after she left. |

| Oh wow, I had no idea that was Lauren's intention as well. I think that's pretty amazing. I notice what you meant about foreshadowing, now as you mention it. |

| Link is broken. I didn't think season 3 was that bad. If it was longer we would have still gotten the same episodes with newer ones. As for the season finale. I didn't like it at first, but now I love it! I'm glad they made it a musical because if it was two parts things would have gotten receptive and boring. Plus the songs really help convey the emotions and helps move the plot along. That's the point of musicals. |

| So I saw Equestria Girls at my local theater last Sunday. The verdict? For a film meant to promote a series of ugly dolls, it was surprisingly good and very enjoyable. However, it still had those same old cliches from every other typical high school based film, and had these gaping huge plot holes. Presenting, my biggest issues with this movie: (there are spoilers) - Spoiler:
5) Why didn't she just tell Principal Celestia the truth? If her friends where so accepting about it, especially after Spike spoke, surely she would do the same.
4) Nobody checked to see if the library was empty?
3) How DID Sunset Shimmer knew the elements of harmony would do that? Even Twilight didn't know that much about them at the start of the series.
2) They kept bringing concepts up, but never do anything with them...and "Brad". Not as bad as I thought he was going to be, cliched love interest-wise, but he was still pretty pointless.
1) In the real world, there is no way in hell a new student would win something like the "Fall Formal" IN TWO DAYS. This is the same series that gave us 'Hurricane Fluttershy' right? The same show that proved that an excising montage won't instantly make you a champion? The should have made it some random musical number won't instantly crown you something, and kick that cliche in the fanny too...speaking of, nobody questioning about this sudden new girl who never appeared in any classes and why she wanted to win the crown?

| Im watching it right now as a rip. Though a movie theater in my area is playing it. >.> I would go see it with a friend, but my mother would question about why I went to go see a MLP movie.
As what Ive so far I do like how the link the two worlds together. Now I see the characters in action the humans dont look too bad. Now I know why skin colors are bothering me. They're pastel. I don't like how pale the pastel colors are. It's just looks meh to me and it doesn't help the way their cheeks are drawn. |

So this movie was super cute! It had a interesting plot and I loved the jokes. Pinkie Pie was the best. XD I don't know about you guys, but I loved the brad thing. I just love the awkwardness between two people.

As for the others she saw that they were exactly like her friends back in Equestria so she was able to trust them and she knew the world a bit better. 4) The Library? What do you mean by empty? Are you talking about when Twilight slept there. They probably hid somewhere and Spike found an area that no one went to anymore which is strange in itself, but hey the girl needed to sleep somewhere! 3) This indeed is a plot hole, but she probably took a guess that the crown would give her extreme power in the different world. It's a kid show after all. 2) Can you explain the concepts? As for Brad he helped clear Twilight's name. I think that was useful beside the awkwardness between him and Twilight were cute! Also seeing him in the Equestria made things cuter! 1) Yes it would be amazing seeing a new girl beat the popular girl in the real world, but I think in that world the students were probably sick of Sunset pushing them around and wanted to see her fail. Plus it was refreshing to see Sunset let her win instead using that cliched switch the ballot so I win.

- Spoiler:
The human!Mane 6 and how much they stay true to the ponies themselves is definitely one of the strong points of the movie, and Pinkie certainly had some great moments.
5) Even if she didn't tell human!Celestia, Twilight is supposed to be smart. There are other, much easier ways she could have gotten the crown back, if she thought about it she would have surely found one and at at least try it. This is another writing cliche that has really bothered me. I was hoping the writer for this movie would do something different or at least poke fun at it, like Pinkie or Spike making a comment about it.
4) Its routine for whoever is managing a library, store, restaurant, etc, to make sure no one else is in the building before they lock up and leave. Yes, she did need a place to sleep, so this one I'm kinda letting it slide a little. It still just seemed odd.
2) They mention another girl loosing to SS the previous year, being back-stabbed by her and absolutely devastated by it. I thought for sure this mentioned girl was going to be human!Rarity, hell, maybe even human!Trixie...nope, it was just brought up then forgotten. What a waste of build up and potential. I thought at first this was the main reason why human!Rarity suddenly pulled Twi aside and help her get into a disguise. Guess not.
Then 'Brad' being SS's ex boyfriend. Did this cause any sort of tension between SS and Twi? Nope, once again, just brought up and forgotten. Then Rainbow Dash being the captain of every sports team....so you're not going to have her convince all the sports teams to vote for her? Or do anything with that at all? No?
There where others, but those where the two biggest ones I remember.
2.2) Yes, he did help with that, so he wasn't completely useless, but anyone could have done it really. He could have at least mentioned, "I just knew SS was going to pull something like this" or something. Once again, they didn't take advantage of the "ex-boyfriend" detail. Overal, he seemed kinda flat, and tacked on at the last minute in a later draft of the script. I've seen some pretty terrible forced romances between characters, thankfully here, it was surprisingly decent, and much better than I was worried it was going to be. They kept it at a simple crush (which I'll admit it was kinda cute), and there was definitely no "OMG I just met you and know nothing about you but you are totally my soul mate and we need to be together forever and ever and be all kissy-kissy at the end with fireworks and all!!!!" *eyeroll*
1) Even in that world: TWO DAYS!?!? If they where tired of being bullied, they should have presented in a way where the whole "This random musical number has got me convinced!" wouldn't have felt so...cliched. This is a show where its strong point has been kicking typical cliches in girl's media in the shins, not embracing them.

Yes 2 days does seem ridiculous, but it was to add tension and drama if you think about it. Besides I feel like this movie is to poke fun at high school trops. It's all in good fun really and that's why I like this movie it's so much fun. It's having fun with the characters being human. As for Flash yes I agree they should have Sunset did something to Twilight since he was talking to her. But that would have been cliched too. I still love him being there because he just a harmless crush. Everypony can have a harmless crush! I'm sad that he won't appear in season 4. It's been confirmed that he won't. As for things they throw away yes they should have Rarity try to go up against Sunset and it would give a better reason for her Sunset to break up the human mane 6. Also we should have seen Rainbow convincing the other teams to vote for her, but a movie can only do so much. It was given so much time for the story. If it was a bit longer we probably would have seen that. It's like how people complain about events in Disney movies. They are like 77 minutes long so of course things seem rushed! You need to let the magic to convinced that it's not.

| I decided last night to give My Little Pony a watch, if for no other reason than to see what all the fuss was about. And let me tell you something it... Wasn't that bad at all.
The animation is nice and colorful, the voice acting is top notch, the writing was also and the characters are nicely developed and from the two episodes I've seen it doesn't seem to talk down to kids and doesn't have any face-palm inducing dialog that isn't purposely trying to make you face-palm. Going in I thought the whole plot with Midnight Moon was going to be a season long arc because of how much they were building up the villain, but I'll wait to watch the rest of the season before commenting more on that.
So I can see why people young and old would like it so much.
And with that said, to all the shows and movies for kid audiences or adults who have terrible writing, you have no excuse now. A show which premise is about ponies and friendship have good writing and well developed characters. They managed to turn what many would have considered a stupid premise into a hit where others have managed to turn a cool premise into a piece of utter and complete garbage that never should have been green lighted if those in charge had any brains in their heads.
I repeat, you have no excuse now. |

| So, obvious cliche and camp aside, I friggin loved Equestria Girls! I hope they end up making a spin off tv series. It was just so adorable. Human!Fluttershy omg. I think she was my favorite. I can't wait to watch a DVD quality of this movie. - Spoiler:
Gah all the cameos. The friggin magical girl transformation sequence. Just how much the human!mane6 were like their pony selves. It makes me wonder though...where was the Twilight Sparkle of that world. I wonder if some of the other non ponies in Equestria have different forums. Like Discord or the griffons or Zecora. It'd be interesting to see human versions of them too.
