I didn't see any thread on board games, so I thought I'd make one! Post recommendations and talk about your favorite board games here.
My favorite board game is Betrayal at House on the Hill.
The game has two parts. In the first part, 3-6 adventurers enter a haunted house and split up to explore it. As they explore the house (which changes shape each time you play the game), they come across creepy events, collect items and collect omens. Every time an omen is collected, the player needs to roll the dice; if they fail to roll higher than the number of omens, the second part of the game- the "haunt"- starts. One of the players becomes a traitor. The traitor, the reason for becoming a traitor, and the requirements for the traitor or the explorers to win, etc, changes each game.
It's a fun, versatile game... Though it's a bit intimidating if you've never played it before. Once you play it a few times, the game mechanics are easy to understand... But I imagine opening up the box for the first time and finding three separate manuals and over one hundred game pieces must be scary! Nonetheless, I'd recommend it- it's a ton of fun!
