Ok, I'm waaaaay out the loop and too lazy to do research or read back on this thread. Why is everyone so excited about this Pokemon? I've had usually a game from each release of Pokemon, but my last game was soul silver. I do love to play Pokemon, but I'm not super down with stats and pros/cons of types etc.

Can anyone kinda summarise why X & Y are so hyped?

I think the games get more hype per generation imo. The 3d features and the training methods you can do outside of battling might be creating the most attention.

- New Fairy type Pokemon
- Mega Evolutions
- We can get Kalos and Kantos Starters in the beginning of the game
- We can ride on certain Pokemon's backs
- Sky Battles
- Battles Against 5 Pokemon at the same time
- Customizable Trainers (the ones we become)
- WE CAN SIT ON BENCHES!!!!!

Also, there are new ways to train Pokemon through their stats specifically where we do it with the Pokemon or they can do it on their own.

Because gamefreak is finally putting their necks out there and throwing out new things.

A new type
a way to train your pokemon stats better and increase their happiness easier.
you can ride pokemon
mega pokemon (this is the big thing)
YOU CAN SIT ON BENCHES
you can leap over ledges while riding a pokemon
the 3D battling (this the major thing)
you can battle in the sky
you can in counter up to 5 wild pokemon at once.
YOU CAN FINALLY CHANGE YOUR CHARACTER's FEATURES
Up to 5 rivals

Well that settles it, I'm getting a 3DS.

We're also super duper excited for being able to change the features of the trainer. Especially since it's just more than hair and skin, we can change the clothes throughout the game.

I wasn't even aware of that. But yes that is certainly cool.

I believe it was in a trailer. 

I hope you can take pictures like you can Animal Crossing New Leaf.

Outfit changes sound cool. Didn't care much for some of the clothes the girls get stuck with <.<

Haha a lot of the features sound awesome. Five wolf Pokemon at one time is a bit crazy, I'm used to max two? Did it go up in black/white?

Sadly I do not have a 3DS but I could always get a 2DS HA.

I am so happy you can change the look of your character. It will finally feel like you! I might actually give my character my name. I usually make up names for my characters in video games.

My Mom finds it funny that I'm getting a Pokemon game for my 21st Birthday. I'm pretty amused by it, too.

Ah, I vary between a name I like and my own name. I always name every single Pokemon tho. =p

In gen 4 (if you were with if a trainer) and gen 5 (by yourself or with a trainer) you could encounter wild double battles. In gen 6 they have it up to 5 now.

Now I might remember the bit from the trailer. But yes, it does appear this is the generation that truly makes Pokemon innovative and fresh again.

I will play pokemon forever. I'm 23 and I dont care. I went to a pokemon convention this past summer.

In Black & White, they introduced Triple Battles and Triple Rotating Battles. These battles only happened with Trainers.

Also, I always prefer the girl and plan on giving her my female alter ego name, Anastasia.

It's more than just the age itself. The other part that it's a birthday present for an age where in the United States you can drink legally and go to bars/clubs.

To me gen 6 is the reboot of the series. I know they said gen 5 was the reboot, but come on! Clearly gen 6 is it!

For my 21st birthday, I was living in California and went to Disney Land. On my birthday. I got a special badge and everything.

Although I had been legally drinking for three years, soooo...

I might have to wait for Christmas for this.

I would cry if I had to wait till Christmas. I love the thought of being apart of all the Pokemon talk that will be happening right at the time of it's glory.

It feels like it's taking forever to finally get to the release date. Feels like we're watching grass grow.

I am really excited for when the release date will be announced...but I'm also not in too much of a hurry because I still haven't finished White 2. I'm so slow. XD
