So, I was looking through manga scans, when I came across this image...






Now, in my mind, the way she was reacting previously to chibiusa's reaction to the finding out that everyone was incapacitated wasn't exactly as strong as it should have been. She never says "I don't know what's going on", or something like that. She does however tell Chibiusa exactly where to go... How does she know?

I think she knows exactly what is going to go on...

Based on just the above screen cap, I have no idea what's going on. Granted, I might not be able to input properly without having read the Manga up to this point... but could you recap what's going on so that some of us might be able to weigh in?

It's the very very end of the manga. The few pages before this show chibiusa freaking out because Diana dies, and she feels it. After rushing to her mother she comes into a room where every one, (inners, outers, the cats, and Endy) are lying down and glowing, pretty much looking dead.

Chibiusa asks what going on, and NQS says there is a phenominom in the past. Diana went to check it. At this point Chibiusa says that she will go investigate. And then the manga above is where we see NQS, who didn't answer an questions, tell her daughter exactly where to go.

I'm pretty sure she definitely knows whats going on. I think with the way time works in the SM universe is that as things change in the past for NQS, she gets new memories of whats going on, so she's remembering whats happening while present SM is at the Cauldron.

I just found it odd is all. Especially sending her daughter essentially die pretty much..

Yeah, but its possible she was sending her there as part of a way to grow as a Senshi. Plus i think Chibi Usa would have gone regardless...

Before that all happened, she pretty much forbade Chibiusa to go back to the 20th Century, and even gave the Time Key back to Pluto. I think she knew what was going to happen (it happened to HER, after all) but she wanted to delay it.

Look at how sad her eyes are in that panel. She obviously doesn't want her daughter to go, but she must.

I had a thought, since we all agree that she knows, then that proves 100% that every one survives! Even the kitties! ^^

That's true! I just wish Naoko would have at least shown the kitties at the wedding...I mean...how could Luna NOT be at Usagi's wedding. She and Artemis could have been the ring bearer. XD

It is a little odd since Luna should be like "Wow, the cry baby I started out with grew into a beautiful woman"

That was something I HATED about the manga ending! We only see the other 9 Senshi and Mamoru revive, no one else. At least in the anime, we know what happens to Luna, Artemis, Diana, the Stalights, and Princess Kakyuu.

Do you think maybe Naoko was rushed at the end? I know she hadn't even intended on taking it that far. So maybe its just something that slipped her mind.

Traveling through the past-present-future is a notion that always confuses me to know end. It feels too complicated for my brain so I usually just give up and accept it as is. I find it especially confusing when some one jumps to different times and the future is constantly changed but yet no one seems to be altered much. I realize I am not making very much sense.

My point, is that I do not know very much on the topic. However, since Neo Queen Serenity is Usagi in the future, she already knows how it is going to turn out. Even though Usagi has not made her decision yet, she will, and therefore the future has already been ordained. Neo Queen Serenity knows that Chibi Usa will die but she will come back to life because Usagi will save everyone and make the decision that she comes to make during those last manga pages.

It's really like if a friend of mine goes back to when I was fourteen years old and tells my then-self to make a change in actions and I do. My future will take a different course, but my present self now will still be aware of what happened then.

When Neo Queen Serenity says "The end of the universe" I believe she is not talking in terms of "time" but rather the Galaxy Cauldron -- which is at the end of the universe.

That's what I thought as well.

As far as time goes, its kind of tricky. I think it depends on which theory of time you are looking at. I think in SM, time is more linear. However, many don't believe time works that way. There is the belief that if you go back in time, you will essentially start an alternate path to the one you experienced. So whatever you change, will not effect your timeline, but will start a new one. This theory is apparent in DBZ. I was about to go into the Doctor Who time theory but it really doesn't apply to SM. lol

Yes! That! That alternate timeline is exactly what I am talking about. There just seems to be too many loopholes and no end to that theory.

I agree completely on the "End of the Universe" comments. I didn't even think to take it other wise
