[Contest] November 2018: Design a Love Interest Writing%20contest%20writing%20guild_zpsil0bdsnn

Asking for full-fledged entries seemed like a bit much, given the overwhelming pressure of NaNoWriMo, but then there's also the Roleplaying Challenge: Fall in Love, a pun so excellent I wanted to find a way to reuse it. With that note, let's have something a little bit more structured... let's see who can design the most intriguing dashing romantic stranger~  [Contest] November 2018: Design a Love Interest 186320883

What is a contest?
A contest is an event where Writing & Roleplaying Guild members submit secret entries, based on criteria, and then vote for a winner.
Find out more about Writing and Roleplaying Guild contests: Guild Challenges, Contests, and Games!

What are the requirements for this contest?
Design a character who could serve as a love interest in a roleplaying or story setting. This is not a full character profile—there's no need to write up all the details that would normally be required. Provide just the most interesting information along with necessary context.

Setting: If this is Sailor Moon-themed, is it Silver Millennium? Modern-day Tokyo? If not Sailor Moon-themed, does it take place in an established series' universe, or is it original?
Personality Highlights: What are the most noteworthy aspects of this person's behaviors and thoughts?
Appearance Highlights: This could relate to hair colour, posture, clothing, etc.—the visual elements other characters would notice.
Notes: Anything else that makes this character compelling? Tell us a bit about it here—please use a bulleted list!
Potential Romantic Partners: Provide list of who this character could attempt to woo, with a few notes on why/why not if possible.

Example Entry wrote:
Setting: Crystal Tokyo
Personality Highlights: She is extremely studious, but has a playful streak and a wry sense of humor. When she talks, she tends to use a lot of complicated words—and knows exactly what they mean. She loves puns and wordplay.
Appearance Highlights: This confident catgirl has almond-shaped, green eyes. Her long, silky, straight, pale violet hair almost appears to be the colour of silvery moonlight. When in a humanoid form, her skin is a dark, rich cocoa hue, with a few paler marks on her shoulders and cheeks. Her ears and tail have longer fur in the same colour as her hair. She has a leggy build. Her tail is short, thick and carried with a curve.
Notes:

  • Appears to be from Mau, but is actually from a different but similar planet (Pyrr) in another sector of the universe.
  • Typically seen in feline form; sometimes randomly changes to a human form (where she looks like a teenage girl) when she sneezes.
  • Odd, almost improbable things seem to happen in her presence.
  • She was sent here as an ambassador from her planet, but doesn't seem to be particularly interested in forming the alliance she's been enlisted to broker.

Potential Romantic Partners: Sailor Pallas (they're both playful and can be lighthearted) and/or Sailor Vesta (Vesta's fiery temper might appreciate someone who can adapt to it more easily)

  1. Entries must be between 200 to 750 words.
  2. Entries must be rated PG-13 or lower.
  3. Entries must use the entry form.
  4. Entries must be new and written specifically for this contest.
  5. Submit a maximum of three (4) entries.
  6. Entries must be kept secret until the results of the contest is announced. Voting for the contests are blind—the authors identities are kept secret until the voting period is over and a winner is decided. This helps to even the playing field and avoids favoritism as no one knows the identity of the authors.
  7. Sailor Moon-themed entries are encouraged, but not required.
  8. The winner of the contest receives a personalized winning signature and qualifies for a stamp based on their number of wins.

How do I submit an entry?
PM entries to Sailor Mercury with the title "November Contest" no later than Friday, November 30, 2018!

Entry Form:

How do I vote on this contest?
When it is time to vote, this thread will be updated with entries and instructions!

Important Dates
Last day for entries: Friday, November 30
Voting begins: Saturday, December 1
Voting ends: Wednesday, December 5

Remember, participating in and winning a contest earns points and helps you collect the super cute Writing and Roleplaying Guild Sanctioned Contest Stamps!
