With spring has come a general thawing, and that includes of the RP section! In the spirit of new activity and interest, this month's contest has an RP theme to it. Submit ideas that could be used for Casual Events or for user-driven Storylines, and we'll vote on the one that seems most interesting! When ideas are budding and inspiration is in the air, even the runners up may find themselves winners!

What is a contest?
A contest is an event where Writing & Roleplaying Guild members submit secret entries, based on criteria, and then vote for a winner.

What are the requirements for this contest?
Describe some highlights that would build out an RP—especially conflicts!
Don't worry about writing an actual story. The goal is not to fill out an actual Storyline submission form or share a completely-finished plot.
Try to draw in your reader. What would make it interesting enough for you to join this RP? How can you entice your reader?

Setting: If this is Sailor Moon-themed, is it Silver Millennium? Modern-day Tokyo? If not Sailor Moon-themed, does it take place in an established series' universe, or is it original?
Major Conflict: What is the biggest problem the characters face?
Minor Conflict(s): What other setbacks lie in the characters' ways?
Goal: If the RP was successfully finished and moved to the Hall of Fame, how do you imagine that would it end? Is this a happy ending? A dark ending?
Genre/Type: Is the feel of the RP comedic? Serious? Dramatic? Slice-of-life?

Example Entry
Setting: Silver Millennium, in the Moon Kingdom
Major Conflict: After being told the fairy tale of Queen Nehellenia, ten-year-old Princess Serenity has disappeared. The sailor soldiers are tasked to find her before the lunar eclipse... in one week!
Minor Conflict(s): Although the sailor soldiers must work as a team, they are still working through some personality conflicts. Also, they are not battle-tested, and although they have practiced and trained in the Moon Castle, they experience some difficultly thinking as "soldiers"—particularly because they are young, although they are teenagers, unlike Princess Serenity. Queen Nehellenia traps one of them when they cross over into the mirror world.
Goal: The sailor soldiers discover the mirror world of Queen Nehellenia and fight her, only to find that Princess Serenity is not her captive. The mischievous princess has found a "secret world" of her own—a method to travel to Earth! (She has not met Prince Endymion.)
Genre/Type: Dramatic and dark

Entries must be between 100 to 600 words.
Entries must be rated PG-13 or lower.
Entries must use the entry form.
Entries must be new and written specifically for this contest.
Submit a maximum of four (4) entries.
Entries must be kept secret until the results of the contest is announced. Voting for the contests are blind—the authors identities are kept secret until the voting period is over and a winner is decided. This helps to even the playing field and avoids favoritism as no one knows the identity of the authors.
Sailor Moon-themed entries are encouraged, but not required. There will be two voting categories, one for Sailor Moon-themed entries.
The winner of the contest receives a personalized winning signature and qualifies for a stamp based on their number of wins.

Major Conflict: Usagi is babysitting Chibiusa when the two get into a fight over which tv show to watch, each wrestling the other for the almighty remote. Before she knows it, Usagi's lost the remote - and her engagement ring in the tussle!
Minor Conflict(s): Not only does Usagi have to deal with a chiding Chibiusa, but she's prone to bursting into tears at the thought of losing Mamochan's precious gift. The only solution is to tear apart the house! Things only get hairier when her friends arrive and mistake her missing ring as a sign of trouble in paradise, or in Seiya's case, as an open shot...
Goal: After some tight-lipped questions and thinly veiled panic, misunderstandings are cleared up and the house is turned upside down as everyone searches. Usagi must dodge Seiya's advances while keeping bratty Chibiusa in line, and when the two discover the ring together, it seems all will be forgiven. Each girl reaches for the dazzling gem at the same moment - and the sisterly fighting begins again.

Major Conflict: After meeting an unusual girl (Kagome) who looked like her and also shared the same interests as her, Rei is transported to Feudal Japan in her place where she meets Kagome's friends. Although they don't know this, a malice followed Rei from the present to the past to give powers to someone who's willing to do anything to harm any of the Sailor Guardians.
Minor Conflict(s): Altough Kagome's friends like Rei, they still miss Kagome,but they are willing to do anything to help Rei to get back in her time.
Goal: The group find Queen Beryl's ancenstor only to find out that she has captured the Sailor Guardians from the future ,blocking time travel.
Genre/Type: slice-of-life , comedy

Setting: Earth, Ancient Greece
Major Conflict: On the ancient site of Atlantis where exiled denizens of the Moon Kingdom dwell the threat of a hostile takeover of the world from an unknown alien species looms. It’s up to the Demigods, a powerful group of Atlanteans who can defeat this strange and dangerous foe.
Minor Conflict(s): As exiles the Atlanteans have a number of issues with the Moon Kingdom as well as the Greeks but not always for terrible reasons. For the most part despite the fact that the Moon Kingdom can greatly improve the defence of the Earth Queen Selene does not care for it and sees no reason to help the Earthlings or the exiles. Meanwhile the Greeks see the Atlanteans as heroes amongst men and tend to either fear them or praise them too much. The attention they receive is often way too much or entirely negative, sometimes provoking war. The Demigods and Atlanteans have a delicate balance of diplomacy between the city states.
Goal: The Demigods discover the mastermind behind the invasion and fight them, the resulting victory rallies and unifies the Greeks as well as redeems the exiles in the eyes of Queen Selene. The Demigods ascend to the Moon Kingdom and the Silver Millenium begins.

Entry D (Sailor Moon setting) wrote:: Setting: Crystal Tokyo, mostly on the trans-Neptunian area of the Solar System.
Major Conflict: An unidentified entity of dark energy has been spotted lurking around the outskirts of the Solar System, just beyond the orbit of Pluto. This area, known as the Kuiper Belt, had already been a secluded and mostly independent territory during the original Silver Millenium; and after its fall, it became pretty much Terra Incognita. There's no way to know what might have taken residence there after millenia of abandonment. Wary of a reprisal of the Black Moon attack, Neo-Queen Serenity has ordered the Outer Senshi to enclose the Main Solar System within a barrier until the threat has been assessed. This task falls into the hands of the Sailor Soldiers of the Kuiper Belt, who are charged with finding the entity, determining its nature and power and then reporting this information back to Sailor Pluto.
Minor Conflict(s): The Kuiper Senshi feel unsure of themselves and their power. Some may feel that, unlike the Guardian and Outer Senshi, they don't actually have a role in the protection of the Solar System. Others may doubt that the protectors of some glorified dirty snowballs at the edge of the system are up to the task. Others, while confident, may feel detached from such a cold and faraway place; whereas others may even be unsure of their identity, having only an imprecise feeling of "belonging" tying them to the place.
Goal: After a long journey through space, little-known TNOs, some skirmishes, and hopefully some self-discovery; the Kuiper Senshi encounter the dark entity, which is revealed to be an agglomeration of Embryonic Sailor Crystals, never born due to their celestial bodies becoming unable of sustaining a guardian. Its existence may or may not be linked to the true role of the Kuiper Senshi.

Major Conflict: Mamoru has been having strange dreams about the past—about the Golden Kingdom. He can't remember much when he wakes up, but he feels like he's missing something important. Meanwhile, Rei is experiencing visions that seem to be related to the Silver Millennium, but she can't figure out why. The news starts showing reports of a beautiful woman with white hair appearing in public places late at night and causing people to fall unconscious. Luna and Artemis are shocked to see that this figure looks like Queen Serenity! Why would Queen Serenity be attacking people?
Minor Conflict(s): Usagi feels insecure when Mamoru isn't open with her; he didn't tell her immediately about the dreams. He has to learn to communicate more clearly with his partner. Slowly the two learn more about their original courtship as Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion when the dreams become clearer. Even Usagi has a few. Rei and Ami deal with self-confidence related to their own abilities, because initially Rei's visions don't provide much help and Ami's is unable to collect anything useful in the first few fights against "Queen Serenity". Minako struggles with incomplete memories of the Silver Millennium. She wants to lead but feels like she's making too many guesses.
Goal: Working together, they discover that this is not "Queen Serenity", but instead a ghostly corrupted figment accidentally released by the supercomputer from the Moon Kingdom. It sets Earth people to sleep because it has some of the hostilities towards the "backwards planet" that many Moon people believed. It arrived in Tokyo because it senses the energy pattern of the Silver Crystal whenever Usagi transforms into Sailor Moon. Ami, Luna, and Artemis create a device that ensnares the figment so that it can be disassembled.

Setting: Tokyo City (AU), end of Stars, 90's Anime version
Major Conflict: Haruka and Michiru were dead. The last of her friends were dead. Mamoru... was dead. She had never been one to run from a fight, but when Seiya suggested it, when Sailor Star Fighter started to pull her away, when Star Healer and Star Maker agreed it was the right thing to do - that they could live to fight another day, to come up with a better strategy, that they could still figure out how to win and get everyone back - she believed them. Whether it was shock or not, she went with them, and the five of them - Eternal Sailor Moon, the Sailor Starlights, and Sailor Chibichibi - escaped Earth minutes before Sailor Galaxia destroyed it.
They had just left the Solar System when the immense pain overwhelmed her, when she curled up in a ball mid-flight, her wings wrapping around her, attempting to calm and soothe the overwhelming anguish in her heart as the cries of so many people who had depended on her echoed through her soul. The Starlights protected her, whispered words of comfort, their own shame somewhat lessened in sharing how they had dealt with that pain when they had left their world giving chase to their own Princess.
It will fade, they lie, knowing it only faded when it was out of mind. It will get better, they mislead, knowing it only got better when there was a clear purpose before them. They had focused on finding Kakyuu; now, their focus was... what?
They took shelter on a wandering world, a planet without a star, caught in the gravitational pull of the galaxy without any light or energy from a guardian star. They recuperated and rested, they dressed their wounds, sustaining themselves on their planetary energy. The Earth was destroyed, not the Moon. Planet Kinmoku destroyed, not their empty, guardian worlds. They were still Senshi and were afforded the life energy of their celestial body. Guilt wracked Sailor Moon, but the Starlights were there for their new Princess, the Hope of the Galaxy, and once they were fully rested, they did what they knew best: they kept running.
Planet to planet, they ran, always one step ahead of Galaxia, who still sought out the Silver Crystal, not knowing where they would go or what they would do when they got there. They didn't know how to win, and with every planet she destroyed, Galaxia was slowly rebuilding her army of Sailor Animates.
Finally (down the line of the rp) either ChibiChibi steps up and tells them about the Galaxy Cauldron, or ChibiChibi doesn't say anything about it, and the quintet travel until they are cornered, and face the final battle one more time.
Minor Conflict(s):
• Moon and Fighter - Usagi's feelings for Seiya teeter on the edge of romance, but with Mamoru's death hanging heavily over her, can she actually embrace them?
• Healer, Maker, and ChibiChibi - something is off about this kid. They still don't know who she is and what she's there for; they won't do anything to her, but she's a constant source of suspicion, especially after she makes a comment that isn't just "chibichibi."
Goal:
• (All versions): Run away! Live on different worlds, experience some world building, some angst, and then run to the next one! What new Sailor Animates will rise to face them? How many will they have to kill or attempt to heal before it's all over? Will Moon become less sensitive to the idea of fighting a fellow Senshi?
• (Ending Option A): Get Chibi Chibi talking, go to the Galaxy Cauldron, and live out the manga ending MWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA
• (Ending Option B): Get cornered on a world by Galaxia and her new crew and either die wonderfullyyyy OR go through with the original anime ending on this far-out planet!
• (End end?) Will Earth be restored? Or will it be a big reset for the entire Galaxy? Will ChibiChibi disappear at some point because the timelines differ so much now? dundundun

Setting: Crystal Tokyo, after Small Lady’s return from training
Major Conflict: Maladite (a leader of several powerful families in Crystal Tokyo) is angling for power for himself, hoping to upset the royal family during the slow transfer of power from Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion to their daughter Small Lady (and her consort Helios). Now the senshi and the families loyal to the throne face off against Malidite and his followers.
Minor Conflict(s): Small Lady is planning her wedding, and her life is full of arguments about the plans with the rest of the senshi. Apparently, political weddings are a lot of work, and compromising is not something Small Lady is good at (something she will have to learn - quickly). Additionally, many of the families on both sides of the conflict are fighting for power amongst themselves, leading to a lot of political infighting.
Goal: The goal is to successfully transfer power to Small Lady, who is happily married to Helios and ruling over a peaceful and prosperous (if still requiring a fair amount of refereeing from the royals) kingdom.
Genre/Type: A dramatic story with an edge of dark, wry humor.

Setting: Amestris and Creta
Major Conflict: Ed and Al have gone in opposite directions to learn more about alchemy and the countries around them, leaving Winry at home. But they don’t realize that alchemists might not be popular all over the world, and Ed meets some enemies in Creta. Without his alchemy, he is going to have to depend on his wits and his physical strength to get out of things, while Al and Winry try to help him from Amestris - depending on letters and news to keep track of him.
Minor Conflict(s): Ed and Winry feel a little strained - after all, they are both worried and Winry can’t up but feel that if he hadn’t left, he wouldn’t be in this trouble. Not to mention that Al feels guilty because Ed gave up his most powerful weapon (his alchemy) to help Al. Add to those fact that Ed don’t feel the need to listen to any advice and insists that he can get in and out of trouble on his own, and the trio (plus the allies they manage to find) are going to struggles as much to work together as to keep Ed from getting killed.
Goal: Edward is freed and returns safely to Risembool, armed with more knowledge about Creta (which he will hopefully share with people in Central). Al might come back to visit, but he will return to his studies in Xing, confident that Ed is fine.
Genre/Type: Adventure, with a lot of dark elements.
