Advanced Character Profile
Character Name: It would have been Nona, but she is always transformed as Sailor Clotho
Gender: Female
Age and Date of Birth: Unknown, appears to be in her late teens
Used Canons: Inspiration from the manga, 90s anime, live-action, and Crystal.
Appearance: Sailor Clotho is a young woman of moderate height and weight. Her skin is a medium-intensity warm brown. Clotho's skin is abnormally thin, making it susceptible to cuts and tears. Her bloodied fingers often bear the brunt of this, due to the movements and friction of spinning. Her voluminous fuschia hair is brighter at the roots and darker near the tips. She wears it parted down the center and pulled back from her face, with a braided half-ponytail. Her hair length reaches to the bottom of her ribcage. Sailor Clotho's long bangs are center-parted and she has small curls of hair that fall in front of each ear. Her eyes gleam a pale gray, almost white.
She is seen only in her sailor uniform.
Personality: Watching the dynamic of the trio, it would not be hard to guess that Sailor Clotho is their "little sister". She demonstrates the least maturity of the group, constantly vying for the attention of her teammates. It almost seems like she's more focused on that than she is their mission, supporting Sailor Chaos in her quest to capture the light.
The pink-haired girl seems like a strange convert to have following Sailor Chaos, as she is clearly uncomfortable with combat or conflict. When people are fighting, Clotho becomes visibly anxious, sometimes cringing or even covering her ears when voices are raised. She caves to almost anything rather than potentially differ in opinion with her sisters, even if she whines about it later. She is shockingly conflict-averse for a sailor soldier waging a great war. However, Sailor Clotho is steadfastly loyal to her sisters—she adores them devotedly, bordering on obsession. If Atropos and Lachesis think that this is the right thing to do, she's going to be with them. She's terrified of being left out or left alone.
Sailor Clotho demonstrates sympathy almost universally. She hates sad stories because they make her sad. She doesn't like destroying things, because she feels like she's hurting those things in the process—even inanimate objects. She only does it because she's been told to by one of her sisters. Although she would obey an order from Sailor Chaos, she only aligns herself with the more powerful woman because her sisters believe in Chaos's goals. Sailor Clotho often cries while out performing her duties and frequently mopes about afterwards; that is how much she feels emotional dissonance between her thoughts and actions. When she
is able to demonstrate sympathy without going against her instructions, Clotho does so unabashedly, with attentiveness and kindness.
The youngest of the trio truly acts like "the baby". She doesn't want to take responsibility or make decisions if she doesn't have to—although if she thinks she'll get recognition from her older sisters from doing something,
then she'd be the first to volunteer. She's often moody, sometimes because she doesn't like what she's been asked to do, other times just because she ate a sandwich for lunch that wasn't the
right kind of mustard. She's more likely to sulk and pout rather than talk calmly about her problems, and Clotho willingly indulges in dramatics or hysterics if she's likely to get her way. She
hates it when her sisters show attention to anyone else, sometimes even Sailor Chaos! When they are nice to her, even just a small compliment, her entire day is brightened and her whole outlook is more positive.
Sailor Clotho is terrified that she's not as good as her sisters and that they don't want her around. Her deepest fear is being alone, especially being abandoned by her siblings. She wants them to notice her and show that they care about her. Being ignored sends her into fits of despair. She'll do anything to stay with them and try to solidify herself as part of their lives—even kill other people.
She doesn't seem motivated by goals more future-reaching than "my sisters love me and stay with me". Sailor Clotho doesn't care where she lives or what she's doing, as long as they can all stay together. That's what
family means.
Any Unique Abilities/Skills:•
Impaired Vision - Sailor Clotho cannot see well—her vision is blurred and dim, nearly blind in most situations. She sees most clearly in total darkness, but even then she cannot see much detail. She wears a veil over her eyes to disguise them. Clotho relies mostly on sound, vibration, touch, and memory to navigate. She is capable of reading the evil equivalent of Braille.
•
Thin Skinned - Clotho often suffers from physical injuries due to her delicate skin. She can be injured from friction or impact that would only scratch someone with healthier skin. She heals at a normal rate, and is often marked with a variety of scabs amid her other cuts and tears. Her hands look the most damaged, due to the spinning she engages in.
•
Fated Design - She understands elements of a person's past, present, and future, and she exhibits a degree of control over it when they are born. Sailor Clotho does not have visions of the future as a whole, but she does understand the timeline of a particular person. Over time, with enough exposure, she can begin to piece together those separate destinies to understand something with a larger scope.
•
Proactive Reflexes - Despite her poor standard vision, Sailor Clotho demonstrates remarkably adept muscular reflexes. Sometimes she seems to have reacted before the initial action has taken place. When she wants to, she can manipulate her body very skillfully—whether they are motions of spinning or other actions.
•
Master Craftsman - Clotho does not mess around when it comes to spinning. She's
good. She'd win every State Fair in space, if space had State Fairs.
History: One of three sisters awakened as sailor soldiers of underdeveloped planets orbiting a young star, Sailor Clotho is the youngest of the trio. She remembers nothing before the call of her eldest sister, Sailor Atropos. She was born not as a normal girl, but as a sailor soldier with a teenage body. After the painful and confusing Chaos-influenced accelerated creation of her body and consciousness, Atropos and Lachesis were the first things she saw. Those two explained to her that she was their sister, this terrible place was their home, but that as long as she followed them, they'd be working towards a better future for themselves. She had no reason to doubt anything they said to her—it felt right and she knew nothing different.
Due to the underdeveloped state of her planet, her Sailor Crystal is not whole and was easily and immediately susceptible to the influence of Chaos—just like her sisters. Clotho fears her own home, partially because her arrival into it felt scary, and partially because Atropos so clearly loathes it. She has followed Lachesis and Atropos since her birth, relying on them as her guides and family. Sailor Chaos intimidates and scares her, although the moments of motherly indulgence soften this reaction, as does the continued devotion of her sisters. Due to the awe-inspiring terror that Chaos can inspire, Clotho would never dream of defying the woman. She follows the goals outlined by Sailor Chaos, pouting the entire time, but sticks with it because her sisters believe in it. She wants them to be together, no matter what.

Senshi Information
Senshi Name: Sailor Clotho
Realms of Influence: Chaos, Fate, Spinning, Wool/Flax, and Birth
Transformation Phrase: "Clotho Chasm Power, Make Up!"
Senshi Fuku: Powers: •
Blindsight - If Sailor Clotho raises her veil and makes direct eye contact, she can cause temporary blindness (no longer than 4 hours) of another creature. Having been impacted before does not grant a user immunity to this power.
•
Spinner - Sailor Clotho can spin thread that can be used wherever a thread-like item would be useful. She is capable of making anything from very fine thread to thick rope, very quickly, to suit the needs of herself or her teammates. If her sisters are not around to assist, sometimes she may break off a length that isn't quite right and need to start again.
•
"Tension Twist!" - If no fiber or thread exists on her weapons, it quickly appears, the thread-in-progress connecting the two items. Clotho swings in a large arc the
Fated Spindle from the red thread of fate. A red thread appears around an enemy or close group of enemies that she has targeted, suspended in midair. It suddenly wraps tightly around the target(s), squeezing hard, preventing movement and inflicting a moderate amount of physical damage. Struggling against the thread increases damage to the target. It loosens and disappears after a few turns.
•
"Weighted Whorl!" - Fiber and thread appears on her weapons. Sailor Clotho very quickly swings the
Fated Spindle from the red thread of fate, rapidly twisting the spindle as she draws fiber from the
Inevitable Distaff. A blast of tornado-like energy shoots out, slamming into her target and causing moderate to high impact and energy damage. She can attack a single opponent or multiple. It is possible to block this energy with shields or dodging.
•
"Moirai String of Fate!" - This attack requires Sailor Clotho, Sailor Lachesis, and Sailor Atropos to work together. Sailor Clotho initiates the attack, conjuring spinning materials to her weapons and beginning to spin. Sailor Lachesis takes over, measuring the thread to the desired length. When ready, Sailor Atropos readies her blade to make the cut. This is the trio's highest-powered attack. It can cause instant death to a single target. However, it requires too much time, attention, and physical proximity for the group to use it frequently.
Weapons and Magical Items:•
Transformation Item - She not needed an actual transformation item (as she is always in her sailor form), but it would be a smaller, more compact and less detailed version of her
Fated Spindle that could be used for spinning non-fated thread.
•
Clotho Crystal - Sailor Clotho's Sailor Crystal, the source of her power. When not residing safely inside of her body, it looks like a dark navy blue translucent crystal shaped like a circle with a cross behind it, vaguely in the shape of Sailor Galaxia's brooch. As her planet is not fully-developed, neither is her Sailor Crystal. It appears to have chips and cracks on the surface.
•
Inevitable Distaff - She wields two weapons, a distaff and spindle, which she uses for spinning thread—specifically, thread of fate that divines and determines a person's life. The distaff, filled with either flax or wool, is made of a dark gray metal. It has a large spike on the top and a smaller spike on the bottom. Closer to the top is a cage, adorned with a dark navy blue jewel, that can hold fiber in place. If required, Sailor Clotho can use it for physical combat. She does not like to do this, as it disrupts her spinning.
•
Fated Spindle - She wields two weapons, a distaff and spindle, which she uses for spinning thread—specifically, thread of fate that divines and determines a person's life. The spindle, balanced so that she can easily carry one weapon in each hand, is made of the same dark gray metal as the distaff. It has an ornate wrought metal platform near the bottom, with a few beads and a dark navy blue jewel at the end of the pole. At the top is a small hook for the fiber. Typically her two weapons are connected by the red thread of fate when she spins.
Guardian: Crios Chrysomallos - A moderately-sized ram. He appears to have black wool, but his undercoat is a beautiful shining gold colour. He rarely speaks, although he is capable of doing so in the language that the three sisters understand. Sailor Clotho seems to understand him regardless, often "translating" his thoughts/intentions to her sisters. She likes to carry him around like an oversized stuffed animal.
Crios Chrysomallos was one of the first other creatures Sailor Clotho met, besides her sisters. She rescued him from a world that was being destroyed by her sisters, refusing to be parted from him despite insistence that she hand him over or finish the job. She demonstrated that she can spin his fleece, not just flax, and he was begrudgingly allowed to stay with her. He helped cement his right to live when he showed some usefulness in coaxing and training her to improve her powers as a sailor soldier.
RP Sample: A figure huddled behind the others, cowering. The veil shielded her eyes, as always, but she projected the fear and discomfort easily through her body language. Her arms wrapped more tightly around the large black ram coddled in her arms, ducking her head down as though she could block the visions of what she witnessed.
Of course, she could not. Sailor Clotho did not need a line of view to understand what was happening here. She had been present for the same verbal message that directed her sisters on this course. This was their duty now, something Atropos and Lachesis had explained to the youngest of the trio so many times. They owed their lives and could ensure their futures if they followed Sailor Chaos, and thus they served her.
She cringed at the screams—stifled a cry at the hot spray of blood. She tried to block it out, but she couldn't. She couldn't save them, either. She couldn't stop any of this. The others told her time and time again that this was right—this was
necessary. She understood that it was. Clotho had seen these worlds, seen the horrors that happened in places that believed they
deserved the benefits they reaped from the suffering of others. She still felt compassion for these people, still wished she could get her sisters to stop and find another way.
But... if she spoke out...
"Atropos, stop!" she had cried, throwing herself in front of the tired, defeated foreigner. The smoke and ash choked her, the air tasting like the village that burned around them. She knew so much about him, this stranger, as if she had been the one to create and direct his life. Had she? Did she? The myth and the reality of her existence blurred together unhelpfully. He had a family that he loved. He baked bricks in the sun, back-breaking work, to feed and clothe them.
His crime was his birthplace, a world that prospered while hers did not, a world that offered no fairness or justice, but allowed a chosen few to flourish without a care for the others. He may not have been at the top, but he wasn't at the bottom. And even those had crimes to atone for. She knew, as she knew about his love for his family, about his distrust of his neighbors, because they looked different from "his kind". She knew about the lies he had told, to keep others from sharing his bounty.
Her protest meant nothing. He died as they always did, because she knew, too, that he would.
