| Since we didn't quite have a place dedicated to just coming up with background stuff for our writing, I thought I'd make one. This is a thread to share your own world-building ideas for whatever stories you have, and then others can help you out by making suggestions or answering any questions you may have. Sort of like a world-building critique. And it doesn't have to be original fiction either, because sometimes fanfiction writing and RPing requires filling in gaps for things canon never addressed.
If you just want to add in some general tips or want to bring attention to a good resource, you can post that here too.
Here's a nice slideshow I found on an author's blog that's like a simple guide to creating your own world (though it's geared towards scifi and fantasy). It's not super detailed, but it can help generate basic ideas that you can expand with more thinking.
