Honestly, just play it safe like you would on any outing. Stay in well lit public areas, go with a group of friends if you can. Don't go onto private property no matter what the rarity of pokemon you see. Don't Pokego and drive...Just, use common sense and pay attention to your surroundings and you'll be fine. Try to find a park or an area where a lot of people are meeting up. We found one park where at least 30 or more people were always hanging out. If there's a part of your city or town where you know it has a lot of crime and stuff, just don't even go there.

I would recommend finding a facebook group of Pokemon Go players in your area and also a group of whatever team you are on. People in my area are organizing meets and making stickers and all sorts of fun stuff. I'm going to the mall to meet some Team Mystic players tonight and the Aunt Annie's pretzel place is gunna give out free pretzels to all the blue people showing up. xD

I just found out one of my (pretty much not a big gamer at all) friends is playing this and really enjoying it! She's at level 4 right now, so hopefully we will get another team Mystic member. The cool thing about this game is that it seems to be drawing in people who don't really play games a lot but find the idea interesting.

We went to the beach last night... I caught SO MANY WATER POKEMON. There were a ton of people out there dropping lures, and a big crowd gathered for a gym battle. When something rare would pop up someone would yell it out and everyone would start migrating in that direction. I saw a Cubone on the "nearby" menu but I never saw it, boo! It was crazy fun.  I caught a Pikachu (probably just random luck), Omanyte, Poliwag, Tentacool, Seel, Psyduck, Slowpoke, and there were a good amount of Magikarp and Staryu. On the way home I nabbed a Rhyhorn that I was super excited about!

So far, everything about the game is just a pack of theories, but we have noticed that rarer pokemon seem to come out when there are more players in the area. I had dropped a lure and we got nothing but ratatta and pidgey until a crowd came, and then we got a lot of rarer pokemon.

Also, has anyone tried "picking up" the pokeballs they've missed with? I've heard about this but some people say it works while others say it doesn't.

I picked a pokeball up I think. You have to just tap it super fast once it's on the ground and hope it works.

I've been to a costal town, also had the same things spawn as you Jupi, but a few more Staryu's, dratini's, and a couple squirtles.


I have tried the pokeball thing, no such luck for me :\ couldn't get it to work, but the game was glitchy as hell for me yesterday.

Also I've been trying to grab my Pokeballs when they miss and no it doesn't seem to work. It lies. It makes sense that it wouldn't - they'd miss out on microtransactions.

Could it be that they noticed this glitch in the game and had remove it? D: I mean people on my facebook had posted that they can o.o

EDIT: In a fluke, I saw a Fearrow nearby and it popped up when I was in the right direction o.o

My boyfriend says it doesn't seem to work for him. Maybe the pulse just shows when it updates? Keep an eye on the spinning pokeball loading indicator and let me know if it pulses when that is done loading.

I don't have a spinning Pokeball loading indicator. I'll have to test this when I go out because it does pulse, but it does a one-time pulse for me atm.

it was working fine till it dropped internet connection. I lost like 3 pokemon that way lol.

Whoooo!! Today is my third day with the app and I'm already Lvl. 8. I have way too much homework to go out seeking Pokémon, but I've nabbed a few here and there. There are tons of Poké Stops along my bus route home which is nice - keeps the inventory full.

Also, I'm Team Instinct and got Pikachu as my starter 

So I got pokemon go this morning, used one of the work arounds for Canada. Had a lot of fun bussing around the city to hit a lot of pokestop! Got some cool pokemon too. 

Eevee continues to allude me!

Addy that's crazy, I'm like rolling in Eevee over here. They're as plentiful as rattata almost. XD

I'm trying to keep my leveling up with my boyfriend's but it's hard! I think it's a lot easier to level when you live in an area with a lot of Pokestops. Going to make another trip to the local museum tomorrow (they have like 6 stops in one parking lot sized area). I'm like 500 exp away from lvl 15 and the pokemon are getting wayyyy harder to catch.

Also, we seem to have noticed that rarer pokemon spawn in areas with more players. Anyone notice this? Even when we've dropped lures, we didn't get rarer pokemon until other players showed up.

I've already gotten like 5 eggs, evolved 3 pokemon and still no team. Probably gonna choose either mystic or instinct though.

Also, like jupiter, I am rolling in eevees. How do you get them to evolve? Through candy? But then how do you know which one you will get?

Yes, power them up and then evolve them when you have enough candy. You won't know ahead of time it will evolve into, in the case of Eevee.

You won't join a team until you reach level 5 and then go to a gym.
