"Oberon Barrier!"

He put another wall where Nix's own stood minutes ago. It would buy them more time, allow them to fight off, perhaps, those who would have been able to pass through the walls, all of this without being overwhelmed. He hoped. It seemed as if they would need to fight after all. 

He was readying himself for a charge when Enoch's voice stopped him.

Oberon is indeed my name...

He said, carefully. His eyes stared at him, as if trying to open his soul in half (which he wasn't), uncertain. He didn't know the extend of the male's power, he didn't know what he would gain by taking his form, he didn't know if his planet would accept someone else running around with the flesh of its King.

There was a lot he didn't know that made him uneasy, unwilling.

But weren't his powers made to serve?

He reluctantly flew over to Enoch, severity now replacing the gentleness that usually camped on his features.

You may. I can only wish not to regret it later, friend.

Enoch face-faulted. Regret? Regret what? Did Sailor Oberon have a gas problem or something? As he harmlessly touched the sailor soldier's shoulder, he thought that he would have to find out.

In the span of a few seconds, Enoch morphed into a near exact duplicate of Sailor Oberon. The uniform was a slightly lighter blue and the hair a slightly darker blonde. His eyes widened in realization.

You have two forms... I'm guessing you want me to stay in this one, though assuming the other would make it easier to differentiate ourselves. I'll let you decide.

He looked to the others for advice.

OK... any preferences on the second barrier?

The ambush had happened so fast. Andromeda did not have any barrier powers, so she had let the others do their thing, but now they were in serious danger.  Listening to Nikos’ words, she ran into the building and brandished her Chrome Blade. “Move aside,” she instructed him, before swinging her blade at the door. If it could cut through steel, logically wood would be no problem.



The barriers were breaking, and they needed time to open that door. Nix made her way toward the undead spilling from where her barrier used to stand on the right path. Oberon had made another barrier, but some of them had made it through. “Hailstorm Symphony!” she whispered, and directed the attack toward those who were no longer contained.

He visibly grimaced. Had he known Enoch would discover that, maybe he would have refused. He observed the other male with a cold curiosity, not quite comfortable in seeing himself looking back at him.

Please, do stay in this form.

He couldn't keep the irritation from showing in his tone, but he nodded to Enoch to show he wouldn't hold it against him. If it could be useful to them all, why not. Even if he didn't see how his powers were more useful than the others in this situation. He hovered farther away as to be able to fight without hurting any of them and readied himself.

I would suggest making a barrier wherever the next barrier breaks. It should allow us to fight them without being overwhelmed.

The situation was quickly falling to pieces as Nikos struggled to get the stuck door open. Their temporary barriers from the undead were shattering, and Callisto wasn't sure how well they'd fare against the small army surrounding them. They were too exposed to fight efficiently.

"We need to get into that building now, it'll be easier to hold our ground and make a stand with a threshold to funnel them into. If I can stand in a doorway, I can set up a barrier and make a choke point while the rest of us run or fight these creatures one by one. I won't have to stay in place to maintain it either." Callisto suggested. She knew she could technically speak aloud now, but she wanted to make absolutely sure everyone heard it. Starlight Barricade would not stress her mind like her Major and Minor Guards did, even if the effect was only temporary.

Callisto re-positioned herself closer to the stubborn door, but more towards the north eastern street that was unblocked shield arm already up in case she needed to make a shield. If the door still refused to open even after being slashed at with a blade, she'd try to break it down herself.

Nikos was laughing in this very inappropriate moment. Had he lost his mind again? Was the stress making him crazy once more? She’d have to deal with that in a bit.

She peered through the hole in the door she’d just created and her heart sunk. This door is already barricaded from the other side.

Coupled with what he said about how the dead people might be waiting on the other side as well, this seemed like a lost cause. Damn it. There’s no other choice except to make a stand, then.

She turned to Nikos, trying to stay calm, talking out loud now for his ears only. She gripped his shoulders to steady him—make him focus on her. “Listen, we’re not going to let you die. I promise you. Either stay here or stick close to me if you’re going back out there. Just… don’t panic. Keep your head. Okay?”

She didn’t have time to wait for his answer. Rushing back out of the shop, she saw two out of the three undead (Zombie 30 and 31) swarming their group. She aimed for their necks with quick slashes of her blade.



As the two she attacked fell and the others remained behind the barrier for now, Nix took the time to pray for more magic through her amulet twice over (praying for 20 MP).

Well it seemed like they weren't getting inside the building after all... Changing tactics, she moved back towards the south to help defend against the three undead that had made contact. She saw two of them strike Oberon, or at least what she thought was Oberon until she saw the senshi hovering elsewhere, but Achelois was already healing the doppelganger. Instead, she moved to get in front of Enoch and used her Callisto Disc on Zombie 30.

Achelois's concentration is broken! She must recharge her attack!

Her sight caught him just in time, and Achelois side-flying the running creature, annoyed that her concentration had been broken yet again. She had to decide - did she want to risk charging up again, or join the battle using her spears of energy? ... The plants promised a longer-termed solution.

She missed Enyalius.

 'I need backup!' she called, 'Cover me for a few moments and I can call the plants in the square to bare!' Trusting them, though never as much as the person who usually watched her back, she kept her senses open as she went in a third time to feed the plants more energy.

There was no way out.

That's what he got from the words in his head, from the emotions coming in waves from Nikos and from the fact Andromeda came back running to slay the closest undead. It seemed like this, that they were too many of their enemies in the square, but hadn't they vanquished as much of them once already?

As the barriers fell and Achelois called for help, Oberon hesitated between first calling a barrier again to block the northeast passage or defending their leader. But if she had an idea to ensure them a quicker way to victory...

"Oberon Shields!"

He called, the forcefields enveloping the whole group, but him, as he flew over to Achelois, posting himself in front of her. He could see most of every direction were there to be any undead coming her way.

There is a possibility to block the northern passages again and someone should stand with Sedna or she will be overrun.

He suggested, old habits coming back despite the sinking feeling it gave him, readying himself.

Enoch had never faced anything like this. He fell into shock when the zombie attacked him, slicing through his skin with a rusted sword.

Surprising him even more was that Sailor Achelois healed him. He was shocked to feel that his wounds were gone and made a mental note to thank her later. The situation was getting all the more dire though. In his heart, he wasn't sure if they would make it out alive. Before he could run though, he knew that he had to defend the others. His pride wouldn't let him save himself.

"Barrier!"

Enoch desperately tried to put up a barrier to the north of the group, but found that it was difficult to conjure one. He had to think of it in his mind before it formed. He cursed his inability to act quickly.

The entire situation was falling apart. They were in an ambush with no way out but to fight. Halberd in hand, she brought it down in a slashing motion, her body angled to the left (18), "Moonlight Kiss." 


Is flying out of here an option? Two of us could carry Nikos, but staying may not be the best idea. 

Callisto cut the zombie warrior open with a close range slash of her shield, the edge razor sharp when it was empowered by her attack. Satisfied that it was not going to move again, she moved west to reinforce Sedna. This time she actually threw the shield as she was running towards it, aiming her Callisto Disc at Zombie 20.

Someone had summoned a shield around her, blocking the undead’s attacks as they swarmed her. Nix summoned her wings and flew straight up to get away from the horde, still invisible.

Flying might be a good idea.

She hovered above the three undead below her and once again summoned Hailstorm Symphony, targeting Zombie 19, 21, and 26.

As the zombies arrived and the battle began, Sailor Nocturnus found herself occupied with trying not to be immediately in the way. She couldn't create a shield or a barrier, and her powers were so weak when faced with so many enemies at the same time. But now... there was so much happening—she had to do something!

The zombies near Oberon and Achelois were close to her. But they were also close to her friends and teammates. For a moment she felt the cold chill of her fear, worried that her lack of skill would harm the others... but the young girl did her best to swallow it down and focus. No, she insisted to herself. Stay calm. That was the best way she could protect them.

She kept her dark eyes trained on the forms of Oberon and Achelois as her fingertip began to glow with starlight, silently repeating to herself that she knew where they were and she was going to keep them safe. When she unleashed her attack, she prayed it would be true.

Nocturnus Attack:

Sailor Oberon responded first to the green-marked blonde's call, but with their current situation Panzer knew it was unlikely that she could attack without risking the others. She moved towards Achelois as well, prepared to use herself as a shield to assist Oberon, but his suggestion that others help Sedna was enough to redirect her. He seemed capable, and the farther Panzer moved herself from the rest of the group the more likely that she'd be able to use any of her weapons if necessary.

Plus, the redhead noticed that some of the zombies carried weapons—knives, swords, etc. If she could manage to disarm one of them and appropriate that for her own use, she could improve her chances at hand-to-hand combat.

TL;DR:

Andromeda had been generous, offering to protect him, but he was a warrior, and he would take his stand. 

As the first wave of Androktsiai unexpectedly broke through, he waited for an opportunity, grasped tightly to his sword, and launched himself forward to attack the nearest of the dead.

If Enoch thought he was scared before, he was starting to discover a whole new fear. In Sailor Oberon's form, he began to shake and shiver, looking up with the same respect that the zombies held around him. I never knew her personally but if Sailor Enyalius was brave enough to put Planet Leviathan over Planet Enyalius, she must trust that you will come to the right decision today.

My recommendation? Don't talk to her directly and don't challenge her to a direct fight. She's physically stronger than all of us and she will win. I say we flee now before she commands the zombies to surround us!

Callisto watched her shield throw go wide and completely miss its target, and then caught it as it spun back. She cursed and was about to throw the shield again when the zombies just... stopped. It took ehr a moment to realize they had frozen, and she scanned the plaza for the cause of it until she heard a familiar voice.

Enyalius had found them... Callisto didn't dare say anything aloud as the corrupted senshi's monologue continued. It wasn't her place to try and sway her, and even if it was, there was just something about the aura Enyalius was giving off that froze her in place.

"...We'll defer to your judgment here, Achelois." she said, using the mind link. That was all she could think to do.

Everything in the world froze as the her voice reached the blonde's ears.  The zombies who had been so active before, now paralyzed before their leader.  Achelois suddenly became so aware of everything, the wind flipping strands in her hair, the feeling of her skin growing cold, every beat of her heart pounding in her chest.  Her glowing green eyes found their way to the figure atop the barrier, who was so like the figure her eyes had studied so many times before, yet different. 

She wasn't ready, not yet, not now.

She left her eyes sitting on Enya, as her mind ran through the familiar checklist, not even realizing how relieved she was that the other seemed to be without a wound.  She took in every word, her cheeks tinting slightly pink at the familiar name.  Enya finished with a question, and so did Callisto.

We definitely don't want this to turn into a fight, let me just talk to her.

Achelois maintained her stare on Enya, even if the other would not meet her eye.  "Well-" Her voice broke, she cleared her throat and began again.  "Well sorry we took so long but I have to say, I'm a little disappointed, I thought my first visit here would have involved a personal tour."  It was better to play along with the apparent whimsical mood her fallen companion seemed to be in.  Too serious or too heavy too soon, their plans could be ruined...

"I am glad though," she swallowed back the lump threatening her throat, and pushed the characteristic smile she had thrown Enya so many times before.  "You look well, I was worried that being supreme ruler wouldn't agree with your disposition."

He wasn't too sure about his decision when the undead invaded the square. He could have put another barrier and though he defended Achelois as much as he was able to, their attacks told him maybe he should have. He felt the pain, filtered it as to not spread it through the link and stood his ground, hoping Achelois would be able to finish what she was doing before he went down.

He didn't mind dying, but it would be preferable if it wasn't uselessly so.

Then he felt his energy flowing back and everything around them seemed to suddenly stop.

Enyalius' voice was what explained the sudden commotion and many voices coming through the mind link made of this situation something even more chaotic. Though he agreed with Callisto, he kept silent, knowing Achelois would probably be surrounded by all their other voices, which she didn't need. He loosened his grip on his blades, but waited vigilantly.

He knew they had to leave and not engage, but Nix being so further away and Nikos being in their ranks, he wondered if Enyalis would even let them go.

As the world came to a stop, Andromeda stopped fighting, her blood running cold. The voice was familiar, yet the tone was not, and as she looked up at the source, at the bloodied warrior that she admired and considered big sister—family—she wondered if this Enya even still knew what those things meant. She had not been there at the turning, had secretly denied that this happened at all—maybe the others were wrong, maybe The Crone was wrong—but it was hard to deny it when she was looking straight at it.

When before Enya’s warmth was hidden beneath layers of stoic and valor, now it was simply gone completely. Her eyes were cold, despite their familiarity. Andromeda felt her heart ache as she remembered the last words they exchanged to each other.

Be safe.
You, too.

They had hugged. It could have been their last hug ever.

And she was not okay with this.

Obviously, Enya remembered about them. It seemed her perception of them had merely been warped. Though she wondered, listening to Enya’s words, were she waiting for them? Did she want them to come and save her? Maybe she was still there. Maybe she could still hear them.

At the very least, she wouldn’t kill Achelois, would she? Not if she was still calling her that…

Despite Achelois’ casual words, Andromeda couldn’t even begin to imagine what she was feeling right now. She moved ever so slightly in front of Nikos and tried to keep Nocturnus within her periphery—though frozen, the proximity of some of these undead were unnerving her.



Nix landed gently on the clearing between the two remaining undead she’d targeted earlier and the newly arrived Enyalius, so as not to allow the beating of her wings to pinpoint her presence. She observed the situation carefully as the person they once knew as their leader spoke, sounding different and with a different gleam in her eye.

She wasn’t sure what would happen here—would Enyalius kill them all? Did they even stand a chance of winning? Fighting Enyalius alone would be impossible as it was, but if she had hordes of undead on her command, then that chance became ever more miniscule. There was no way they could win here. The only way to survive was to turn their leader back to their side, and short of that, a miracle.

She focused instead on what Enyalius was revealing through her words. She spoke of they, and an Eye; that suggested that she had someone—no, a few someones—on her side that could see what was going on. Had they been monitored all this time? They knew the chance of a surprise ambush was small, this being Enyalius’ planet and all—but if there were people with all-seeing eyes…

She remembered what The Crone said. She’d said something about cloaking them, had handed Achelois something to do just that—so maybe not—and these people Enyalius spoke of must then be the Three Fates that The Crone mentioned. The ones who could scry and spy on them.

That meant, even if they managed to take care of Enyalius, they still had these people to deal with. Three of them.

The odds continued to stack against them.

Goddess of Nix, protect us.

One of the zombies managed to lash out at her before she could complete her move towards Sailor Sedna, but she tossed it aside with relative ease and continued moving onward. The shield from before, cast by Oberon, seemed to absorb most of the impact. Panzer continued moving towards her destination, but something halted her. The sudden change in the atmosphere. The sudden cessation of movement from the undead around them.

And then, the arrival. The woman who addressed them, her tone playful and mocking, looked the picture of the statue on the fountain...with a few discomforting changes. The destroyer spoke to the group familiarly, calling several out by name. Panzer turned when she named the attack from the child-fighter, observing the nearby girl's clenched fists and flushed cheeks, with unshed tears glittering below her eyes. There was something about this so different from the enemies Panzer had faced before protecting her own system.

Sailor Panzer kept her eyes on the dark form of Enyalius, but tried to remain aware of the zombies around them. She just didn't know what to expect.

Sailor Nocturnus used every ounce of her willpower to stop her body from trembling. Hands squeezed into tight fists within the dark gloves. When she first heard that voice, her initial reaction was the joy and excitement typically evoked by the armored Valkyrie's presence. But now it was different, the tone derisive. The red eyes that looked at Nocturnus showed no encouragement or safety, but indicated a reason for fear.

If only she hadn't attacked! The girl felt her dark skin flush with shame and regret, the normally brown cheeks now tinged with pink. It was her attack that their opponent recognized. They were unseen until now, hidden as the Crone had promised. Enyalius had found them and it was entirely Nocturnus's fault.

She felt the tears gather in her eyes, but she was not going to cry here—not in front of everyone in this horrible moment. Instead she looked straight ahead, every muscle in her body tensed, dreading the conversation that went on around her. Dreading whatever other horrors might come next.

Enoch, still in Sailor Oberon's form, bit his lip when Sailor Achelois chose to speak to the corrupted Sailor Enyalius. He wasn't sure if his suggestion was the right path, but he couldn't help but feel Sailor Achelois was the wrong person to lead this mission. Were any of them the right choice? Poor Sailor Nocturnus looked like she was going to fall apart.

The way Achelois looked at Enyalius, he had seen that look before but he couldn't quite picture where. Something to do with his past life, he figured. What good did those memories do him here? They put him in front of another destructive Chaos weapon. Was he doomed to keep dying at the hands of these things? He regretted not spending his life elsewhere.

But then he thought... there was something about his current life that was important to remember too.

I was controlled by Chaos once... not to this extent, but I didn't remember the horrible things I did under that influence. Don't let her get to you. You're talking directly to the Chaos, not Sailor Enyalius.

No sooner had she struck down a zombie than Enyalius appeared. Gone was the stoic leader that Eshana had quickly come to respect. In her place was this cold, mocking being. She was certainly full of herself, and it made Sedna wonder if they could use that to their advantage.

Or would they be able to exploit another weakness? Enyalius had been close to both Nocturnus and Achelois. Could they use those relationships to fool the other senshi? Play along, get closer to her and maybe buy some time for the rest to figure out how to save her? Perhaps Enyalius would be more reluctant to hurt those two than the rest and it could be advantageous. 

She kept her thoughts to herself as she waited, muscles tense, to see what the Dark Senshi did next. 

Sedna help them all if they couldn't find a way to save her.
