Character Name: Nephrite
Gender: Male
Age and Date of Birth: Looks 19.
Used Canons: Anime/Manga/Crystal
Appearance: Second tallest in the Generals, his smooth oval face giving him an air of older brother, Nephrite is considered to be handsome. He has shuttered and elongated dark blue eyes that make for a piercing gaze, framed by thick, long and wavy red-brown hair that stop at his hips. He has thin scowling lips and his expression is generally somber. He wears small bud earrings in both ears and has a lean but solid build.
He usually wears the same uniform as his fellow generals: a dark greyish purple with a yellow trim and a red gem keeping the jacket closed. His two epaulets have also a red gem embedded in their centre. There's a belt attached in the middle of his chest and his pants are tucked in his knee-high black boots. In this adaptation, he doesn't wear a cape.
In crystal, Nephrite's eyes are brown and his hair lose their reddish colour to a plainer brown. They don't have the same volume than in the anime. He also has a fairer complexion. His general expression is softer but he seems angrier. He wears a white uniform with a red trim while working under Beryl's rule but under Endymion's the uniform he wears has more of a red tint to it with a green-blue trim. He wears a white cape that is red on the inside with epaulets bearing a red gem at their centre. Two belts the same colour as the trim mark an X at the level of his hips.
Personality: Nephrite first seems like the kind of man patient enough to bid his time and to wait for things to go his way. Though it might be true on a certain degree; after all, he used to wait for the stars to reveal their answers and patiently so, he can actually be quite intense. He has the patience for himself maybe, for stuff he needs to do, but when it comes to other people, he tends not to extend the same courtesy. He is even less cooperative if the person in question mocks him, belittles him or tries his overall patience on purpose.
He tends to give the impression of being unreachable, but Nephrite actually has quite an open heart and mind, supposing anyone is able to seek for it and find it. He will be closer to those he knows the most (Shitennou, Endymion) and will stay loyal (unless something unplanned happens as shown by the Shitennou brainwashing fest). He can be quite emotional and those emotions can backfire quickly enough, even to the point of getting out of his control. He is the most likely to be killed from an impulsion.
Nephrite is also boastful, acting overly proud of himself, confident in most of his abilities, knowledgeable of the fact he can be quite the charming young man (and sometimes enjoying that fact way too much) and known to like teasing his friends. The knowledge of his strength, however, can sometimes be used as a weapon against other and he then can reveal himself to be manipulative (traits that were enhanced by his brainwashing).
He can be determined and malicious, showing no hesitation to use others for his own gain. It doesn't mean however that he cannot care for someone enough to give his life for them, on the contrary.
Any Unique Abilities/Skills:
- Good swordsman
- Back in the Dark Kingdom, Nephrite could control youmas, but also plan most of his things with the help of astrology. He used a divination-like discipline.
- He can teleport, disguise himself and control other people's shadow.
- Nephrite also uses an energy/star-based attack. It could be a large force energy born from the palm of his hand that he would throw at his opponent, fired blasts of power he would summon by clasping his hands together or energy projectiles (round shaped) that he could throw at his opponent and that would be formed by crossing his arms against his chest and gathering enough energy before releasing it.
History: Nephrite was born to serve the Prince Endymion as one of his four Generals along with Kunzite, Zoisite and Jadeite. He quickly grew close of the three other boys and even of his prince as the years passed. Their life was thrown upside down when Endymion met Serenity and the Shitennou were brainwashed by Beryl, a lady of the Kingdom's court that was possessed by Metallia. During this, he went up against his prince and the moon, helping Metallia in destroying the Silver Millenium. He died during the battle.
Like most of the victims of the first war, Nephrite was reincarnated, but Beryl found him first and awakened him with false memories and brainwashed him again as her willing servant.
AnimeHere, the Shitennou were put against each other for Beryl's attention and preferences. When Jadeite failed and was out of the picture, Nephrite took his place to find the Silver Crystal and destroy the Sailors. It was with disgust and exasperation that he welcomed Zoisite's intervention and constant presence. Ignoring the mocking general, he used astrological knowledge to reach the victims that would become strong source of energy for their Great Ruler.
It's during one of those searches that he met Naru, one of Sailor Moon's friend (which he didn't know back then) and he ended up thinking she could be not just a friend, but probably Sailor Moon herself. He then disguised himself as Tuxedo Kamen to lure her out, but soon discovered she wasn't who he was looking for. Feelings, however, started to appear soon after that. He tried to put them aside and became more insistent upon finding out who Sailor Moon was.
He died by Zoisite's doing while trying to protect Naru against the three youma sent by his younger colleague.
CrystalAfter Jadeite's failure, Nephrite offered his service to Beryl, soon joined by the mocking voice of Zoisite and knowing Kunzite not to be far away. Despite not working completely together, this version of the Shitennou worked more closely than their anime counterpart. They ended up attacking the Sailors as a group, introducing themselves to them as the Shitennou.
Nephrite, like the others, were first threw off by Beryl's conversation with Metallia about them recovering any lost memories. They had no time to really think anything of it as she strenghtened the control she had over them. Later, his memories came back while fighting off the Sailor in their own territory. As soon as he awoke however, they were destroyed.
His spirit stayed as a stone and helped save their prince from a lethal wound, then they lingered on Earth, advicing Endymion from their mineral state.
Other Noteworthy Facts: He is very knowledgeable of the stars, their definition, their signification and their places in the sky / universe.
He owns a Ferrari Testarossa 512 TR.
He had a mansion near Tokyo.
Storyline Specific Information: Four Kings and a Princess:Protecting the King and Queen of Crystal Tokyo was easy compared to their current assignment. When the Four Shittennou were resurrected, they never imagined they would end up as the babysitters of the royal Princess. For the last six years since the Princess was born, they have split their time between protecting the King and Queen, thus allowing the Inner Senshi more freedom to protect the planet as a whole, and being the royal guards of the Princess. The roleplay will follow the shenanigans they get up to and explore the special bond that Chibiusa has with all of her father’s men.Nephrite was never a man that was good with children. He didn't hate them per se, but he wasn't really skilled with them. He never would have thought that on top of his protecting duties towards the Queen and the King, he would have to babysit their princess. He couldn't say no, of course and he doesn't hate the little thing, but if he can have the choice between protection and babysitting, he will take some time with his King instead. He does love seeing the others struggle with the small royal however and wouldn't hold himself back from mocking them openly.
Despite his obvious discomfort with children, he likes the little princess.
RP sample:- Who said princesses couldn't...wait what.:
“Truly, Jadeite, if you put as many efforts on sword practice as you do everything else, we wouldn't still be there.” The older of the two training generals stated to the other.
It was a friendly match, one that only served to practice their strength and see each other's faults. Jadeite, however, was younger, Nephrite was... just a little bit more confident in himself than his friend. They did know each other for some years now, both chosen to protect the prince Endymion. They respected one another.
He was just better than Jadeite.
With a snort to himself, he charged the youngest and disarmed him quickly. He might have cheated a little bit. Jadeite clearly hadn't been ready but wasn't it when they would learn more? When they failed? Not that he was good at losing, but at least now he had something to tease the other with endlessly. Despite the other's glare – Nephrite was sure that was a sulking glare but pointing it out could result in something solid thrown his way – he walked to Jadeite and circled his shoulders with his arm.
“You know, I think we both need to have a little fun tonight. Kunzite and Zoisite are boring lately. Come with me, I want to show you something.”
