Advanced Character Profile
Character Name: Eshana
Gender: Female
Age and Date of Birth: appears around 22 years old, born on or around Feb 22
nd, although being the daughter of a Deity, she is in actuality several hundred years old. By her own calculation, she estimates she is somewhere in her late 800s by the time the Sol Senshi awaken for the first time.
Used Canons: Anime, manga
Appearance: Standing at 5’8, Sedna is very tall for an Inuit woman. Instead of the dark brown hair and eyes of her people, Eshana has long teal hair, flowing down her back like waves that fades into aquamarine. Her eyes are the same teal as her hair. Her skin is a brownish yellow, and her eyes shaped like almonds. Physically, she is fit thanks to her years of weapons training, but still has a slightly curvy figure. Being more acclimated to a cold environment, she finds most places warm and tends to dress in t-shirts, tank tops, blouses, shorts, jeans and the occasional dress rather than wear sweaters. If she has to wear sweaters she prefers hoodies.
Personality: Eshana’s mother is known to be a vengeful Goddess when the mood strikes her. Eshana supposed she couldn’t blame her, given what had happened to her, but she tries to be what her mother is not. She takes more after her father, sharing his compassion for others and his intuitive abilities. Her own intuitive took the form of being highly perceptive to other people’s emotions, to the point of even being able to feel them a little bit if she concentrated. This can occasionally cause her to be overly sensitive at times.
Being able to scry does have a downside though. Knowing the future and what’s to come in situations can put her into melancholy moods or deep sadness. It has tainted her view of the world, causing her to lose hope and become slightly pessimistic.
One of the top things she has learned over the centuries was to become adaptable in almost any situation. She had to be fluid and moving like the sea. Both of her parents taught her from a young age to be a sweet talker and charming, which has helped her get out of a lot of sticky situations over the years. Her father always preached that it was better to use violence as a last resort, and talking your way out of a situation should be what you try first. It was something Eshana took to heart. She could easily kill any man, either with her powers or with her weapons, but she preferred to use the art of the word rather than the art of a sword when she could.
She is a closet romantic, loving watching mortals do small cute things for each other. She one day hopes to find someone to spend the rest of her life with. While she has had many lovers over the years, she has never found someone she has thought would be worth sharing an immortality potion with.
Any Unique Abilities/Skills
- Ability to communicate with marine animals and fish and control them
- Highly perceptive of other people’s emotions, but not to the same level as an empath
- Has a connection to the underworld, as it is her mother’s domain and can communicate with spirits that are a part of her mother’s word when she is there.
- Proficient fighter with her daggers and Halberd
- Scrying- the ability to see the future on an object with a reflective surface or in a crystal ball. Eshana uses her obsidian daggers.
- When not in her senshi form, she is able to heal on her own, although when she uses Ocean's Grace her ability to heal wounds is much stronger. Works the same way by needing water. She usually carries around a small container of water which she hides under her back bow in her senshi form or in a bag when she's not a senshi.
- Teleporting- She is able to appear where she wants at will. Can only be used for short distances if she attempts to go from one spot to another in the human realm. There is one work around however. She can teleport to her mothers realm from anywhere in the world and then from her mothers realm appear anywhere in the world.
- Able to sense when someone is dying
- Decaying- She can decay anything with a touch if she chooses. IE turn metal in a pile of rust, shrivel up plants and even cause humans to rapidly age until they are a pile of dust. She mainly uses this ability when she comes across someone who is already close to death, she helps them move on quicker, and guides them towards their underworld ie Valhalla, her mothers realm, etc.
- Increased Endurance- Being a demi-goddess she has an increased level of en-durability. It takes a lot more to make sure tired or run her down as a senshi or a civilian than it would another senshi or mortal.
History: The Goddess Sedna use to be a beautiful maiden who lived in the artic with her mother and father. Her father was a very good hunter, providing well for his family. She always had warm furs to wear and plenty of food. Liking the comfort of her parents’ home, she refuse marriage proposals of many hunters. Even when her parents began to insist, she refused.
One day a new Inuk came to visit Sedna. He promised her that he would provide her with plenty of food to eat and furs for blankets and clothing. Eventually Sedna agreed to marry him. Once they were wed, he took her to his island and once there, he revealed to her that he was not a man, but a bird who was dressed up as a man. Trapped, Sedna attempted to make the best of her life, however, the man was not a good hunter and was unable to provide her with meat and furs, and all he could provide was fish. It did not take long for Sedna to get tired of eating fish every day.
After living on the island for some time, Sedna’s father came to visit. When he saw that his daughter was so unhappy and that her husband had lied to her, he killed the birdman. They got into her father’s kayak and set off for home. The birdman’s friends discovered what had happened and wanted to revenge the birdman’s death. Flying above the kayak, they flapped their wings very hard, resulting in a huge storm. The waves crashed over the small kayak, making it difficult to keep upright.
Sedna’s father, terrified that the storm would fill his kayak with water and he would drown, threw his daughter overboard, thinking it would get the birds to stop flapping, but it did not. Sedna, not wanting to be left in the water held on tightly to the edge of her father’s boat and would not let go. Fearing that she would tip the boat, he took his hunting knife and cut her fingers off, one at a time. From each of her fingers, different sea creatures were born. They became the fish, walruses and whales.
Sinking to the bottom of the ocean, she became a Goddess, making her home in Adlivun, the Inuit underworld where spirits go to be purified before moving on to the Land of the Moon where they find eternal rest and peace. Sedna controls the seas and all of the animals of the sea. Her physical form has changed, having the torso of a woman and the tail of a fish. As the Inuit rely on the animals that Sedna controls, they try to maintain a good relationship with the Goddess, so she will allow her animals to make themselves available to the hunters. The animals do not mind giving up their lives to provide food, clothes and shelter for the Inuit people.
If there have not been anything to hunt for a while, the Shaman will transform himself into a fish. In this form, the Shaman will swim to the bottom of the ocean and find Sedna to appease her. Eshana’s father was one such Shaman who had come to the bottom of the ocean in order to appease her mother. Unexpectedly, they fell in love. Knowing that he had a duty to his people, he begged her mother for permission to return to the surface in order to train a new Shaman. At first, she disagreed, knowing that it would take a few years to fully train a new Shaman, but her father never gave up, soon convincing her mother. She allowed him to go on one condition; he must return and visit her once every six months for a week when the moon was full. Tearfully they said their goodbyes. Her father returned faithfully every time. Each time they had to part was bitter sweet. Her father would often sit on the shores of the ocean looking down into its depths, perhaps wishing to get a glimpse of her. One seal upon seeing how sad both Sedna and her lover was, went to Eshana’s father and offers her services to bring a small token of his affection to Sedna in between visits to help ease the pain. After five long years of being apart, Eshana’s father finally returned. Soon after, Eshana was born.
Eshana spent her first few years of life living in her mother’s kingdom, never leaving. Eventually her father took her to the surface and taught her the ways of the Inuit people; their traditions, language, religions, taught her how to hunt, how to survive, how to blend in with humans. He knew that knowing how to interact with mortals and blend in with them would help her in her life. When she became of age, Eshana struck out on her own, learning many different forms of fighting and discovering the Halberd and daggers. Her mother gave her two obsidian daggers for her 100
th birthday that she carries with her even in her civilian form.
Nearly a decade ago now, many evil beings began to return to the plane earth and to the solar system that Eshana lived in. The dwarf planet that would eventually be named in honour of her mother awoke. Having no living beings of its own on its surface, it sent out is star seed to find someone worthy of it. It eventually found Eshana, the daughter of the Goddess Sedna. Needing a direction in her life, as she felt that she had become stagnant in life, as so often happens with long lived beings, Eshana accepted the task that the star seed presented to her. Once they merged, a pearl on a chain appeared in front of her, becoming her henshin item, which she wears around her neck, never taking off.

RP Sample: Being alive for as long as Eshana had one became aware of some truths of the world. Mortals were scared of things they didn’t understand, history will repeat itself sooner or later, and Mother Nature had her own ways of dealing with the overpopulation of human society.
We’re probably due for another natural disaster or disease outbreak soon, she thought, making her way through the forest she had decided to hike in that afternoon. Humans somewhere in the last few hundred years had lost the understanding of how connected everything in the world was and how every action had consequences. They had stopped taking only what they needed for survival, and took what they wanted, driving many animals to extinction. They polluted the very land they walked upon and populated her mother’s home. But Eshana could see things slowly changing; people were becoming more environmentally conscious. Things could never go back to the way it once was, but maybe, just maybe things would change for the better. History had a way of repeating itself yes, but it never repeated the events in the exact same way.
