Yes! One word test: Pond. Excellent choice of word I'm excited for the new season too! I hope Clara's character is handled well. So far so good though.

I got introduced to the series through the Weeping Angels and from there I started watching random YouTube clips. A little of Ten here, and a little of Eleven over there. Finally, I would watch a video of some of Eleven's best moments and it would be the speech during the episode "The Pandorica Opens" that I made the decision to check the show out, and I haven't looked back since. I started off with Series 5 - 6 of the new series then went back to 1. The Eleven Doctor is my first doctor, but I also enjoyed Nine and Ten. Recently I went to watch the first episode that aired in 1963, and I'm a fan of the First Doctor already. Doctor Who is the first show in a long time to get so many different emotional responses out of me while watching and I love it for that.

Looks exciting. Unfortunately, I don't get BBC America (or any cable network for that matter) so I won't be able to watch it until the series finishes and is uploaded on Netflix, or until it comes out on DVD.

Do you have a DL link for the 2012 Christmas special? That's the one episode from Series 7 I haven't seen yet.

YAY!
Okay, I'm currently watching series 4 and I thought I'd go down the line and give my thoughts to each serial.
Series 1: Took me a while to decide whether or not I liked the Ninth Doctor and the series overall was hit and miss. I enjoyed Rose, End of the World, Dalek, The Long Game, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances and Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways, but I didn't care so much for The Unquiet Dead (not saying it was a bad episode, just didn't hold my attention) Aliens of London/World War Three (too many fart jokes for my taste), Father's Day and Boom Town. I eventually did come to like the Ninth Doctor and of course that's when he regenerated.
Series 2: It didn't take me as long to determine whether or not I liked the Tenth Doctor, he won me over pretty early in The Christmas Invasion. It definitely felt like they found their way with this series; New Earth, Tooth and Claw, School Reunion, The Girl in the Fireplace, Rise of the Cyerbmen, so on and so forth were all good episodes that kept my attention. And the series finale with Daleks versus Cybermen were fantastic!
Series 3: New companion! All right. Nothing against Rose but I think I prefer Martha Jones to her as a character and companion. The whole thing with the Daleks this series and their evolution felt kind of weird. Human Nature and Family of Blood were great episodes IMO and other episodes I like include Smith and Jones and The Shakespear Code. Of course Blink is another personal favorite and probably the scariest Angel episode. And I LOVE The Master near the end of Series 3. He's just so funny.
Series 4: TBA
Series 5: Some bias here. Series 5 is the first Doctor Who series I watched and there isn't a single episode I didn't enjoy. The storyarc as a whole also kept me coming back for more as I just had to figure out what's that crack in the wall meant.
Series 6: Even better than Series 5 IMO. Again there isn't a single episode I don't enjoy but my all time favorites among them is definitely "A Good Man Goes to War" and "The Girl Who Waited." I still need to watch "A Christmas Carol" though. For some reason that episode wasn't uploaded on Netflix (among other things...)
Series 7: Verdict is still out on this (obviously because the series isn't finished yet) but after watching the first part you know I'm hooked. The Daleks gets even scarier, the individual episodes with the dinosaurs and the cowboys are great and the "Angel Take Manhattan" episode is a heart breaker. I look forward to the second half that starts this Saturday.
I think when it comes right down to it, between Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat, I'm just more drawn in by Moffat's work. But Davies has his moments.

I've obtained series 1-4 on DVD, the Tennant Specials and series 5 on bluray. I'm going to forget that series 6 ever existed and I'm waiting for a complete series 7 to import.
All my BBC shows are imported. You wouldn't believe the price/quality difference from our US versions.

Not a fan of Series 6?
I get what you mean about the price. I found a bunch of Doctor Who DVDs at Books a Million and they ranged from 70 to 90 dollars. That's why mom and I went to eBay to find them.
I still need to get my hands on the Tennant Specials. My collection feels incomplete until I do.

Not at all. I hated watching most of it save for three episodes: The Doctor's Wife, The Girl Who Waited, and Closing Time.
If you can get your hands on a regionless dvd player, you should import them from Amazon.co.uk. My series 1-4 set was only about $40 and the rest were cheaper. The only American set I have is series 5 because it was only $20 on sale at Best Buy a little while ago.

And not only that, acting legend John Hurt will also be guest-starring!"

Generally, I don't mind Matt. His version is if they put 9 and 10 in a blender. Very quirky moments with dark ones and all round sarcasm. True, it was good, but.. he was a biiiiit creepy. -like for real, bro, gonna just eat a girl's cookies and lick a leaf. wut?-
upside, Respect to Clara for the last bit. She did what most companions don't do the first go around.

I am definitely looking forward to the Fall.
Figured I'll use this thread to post my thoughts on the last two episodes of Who I watched (spoiler free) and give my thoughts on one of the recent changes to the show:
"You've redecorated haven't you?"
The new TARDIS interior.
The new set made its debut on "The Snowmen" that aired back in December of 2012 for Doctor Who's annual Christmas special and has received many mixed reviews thus far. Being appreciated a little more by older fans of the show than it has been by newer fans who preferred the more organic look of the last two interiors. Thoughts? Personally, I like it, even if it does look a tad bit on the small side compared to the last two interiors. Now on to the episodes.
The Snowmen Perhaps one of the best Christmas specials to date, IMO. I liked last year's okay and I still haven't seen "A Christmas Carole." This episode has some great voice work from Ian McKellen (GANDALF!), Matt Smith is brilliant as usual and Jenna-Louise Coleman is quick to make a second first impression. I also found Strax to be extremely humorous throughout the entire episode. Be forewarned, if you aren't already afraid of snow and ice you may very well will be by the end of this one.
The Bells of Saint John Steven Moffat decides to make us afraid of WiFi as an evil head of a mysterious organization send robots to collect the minds of people who uses the WiFi and it's up to the trusty Doctor and his new companion to save the day. A lot of good interactions between Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman and the villains for the episode make it easy for you to cheer when the good guys triumph (mark of a good villain in my mind). It may not go down as one of the most memorial episodes of all time but as a fun episode to kick off the second half of the seventh serial I'd say it does its job pretty well.

Double posting, sorry. I wanted to talk about the new episode.
The Rings of Akhenaten These are one of those tear jerker episodes that tug at your heartstrings. Everyone gives a splendid performance in this and I feel Clara is one of the more relatable companions I've watched, even in something as small as her reactions to traveling with the Doctor. At least from what I remember. I seen fans of the RTD era and of the older series give this praise, and that tells me something.
