Advanced Character Profile
Character Name: Minako V. Aphrodite
Gender: Female
Age and Date of Birth: Looks to be about mid 20's
Used Canons: A good mix of Sailor Moon (Classic Anime, Manga, PGSM) and TRC's Manga
Appearance: The first thing people typically notice about Minako is her complacent smile, complete with closed eyes and often sprinkled with laughter. There's rarely a time when Minako doesn't appear to be smiling, regardless of nearly any situation. Even in the face of danger, there's a smile at the ready.
The next most notable thing about her would be her impossibly blue eyes that are akin to the color of a sunlit sky. They seem kind and open but can be surprisingly difficult to read.
Minako stands taller than most, her frame both thin and lanky. Her skin is incredibly pale, as if it hasn't seen much sunlight. She has long blonde hair that she often leaves to fall free like a curtain behind her, though she does keep it well groomed. Sometimes she puts in the extra effort and ties it back with a white bow, or plaits it to keep it from getting into her way. If the need arises, she'll wrap it up into a bun.
Minako tends to pick out clothing that is rather concealing. She likes layers, long sleeves, and looking good in anything she chooses. The main outfit she wears consists of three different layers. The outer-most layer is that of a beautiful large fluffy coat. It's mainly white with embroidery in icey blue making an intricate and tangled design on reaching up from the hem in the back. It comes with a large hood lined in fluffy fur which follows all the way down and around the hem of the coat. The sleeves are large and wide, falling well past her finger tips and are also lined in the same fur. The next layer in is that of a second coat, this one made of mostly an icey blue and clasped in gold links. It is also lined in fur. The last layer is what Minako would normally wear on a day-to-day basis if there is no need for her coats. It's made of thinner material but keeps the same blue and white theme but introduces black as well. A white short-sleeved coat, embroidered and lined in blue, wraps around her torso. It cuts off at her waist, but continues almost like a skirt behind her. The coat is held together by two golden clasps. Under this she wears form-fitting black pants, black plain boots, and long black gloves that reach past her elbows.
Personality: Minako is a kind person who is constantly smiling in nearly any situation. She is quick to laughter and doesn't hold herself back from giving small words of encouragement to those who need them. Although she can often be loud and somewhat obnoxious at times, when the need arises she can be soft and careful, comforting a person with words that are surprisingly insightful for a laughing fool.
She doesn't hold back with her energetic and happy-go-lucky tendencies, finding the fun of a situation if at all possible. She can roll with nearly any situation, rarely ever tripping up or losing her smile in the process. She can shrug off most conflicts or insults without any problems. Because of this, she can sometimes seem dimwitted or careless.
Due to her nature, she has an ease with strangers, able to calm down a situation with a few well-placed words. She's inquisitive and curious, and uses this to her advantage to learn about a new situation. Despite her curiosity, she doesn't pry too hard and accepts any answer given to her, whether she believes the person is lying or not.
She doesn't share information about herself, tending to deflect any questions with a smile and a quick teasing word to change the subject. If confronted with a question she can't quite wriggle out of, Minako will simply reply with a mysterious and cryptic answer that often doesn't quite answer the question at all.
As a warrior, Minako is highly capable, using her agility to her advantage. The problem is that she often doesn't really care about fighting to her fullest ability, despite her obvious skill, even if her own life is at stake. However, if someone she cares about is in danger, someone she feels she wants to protect, she will pour every ounce of her power into saving that person. She is good with coming up with assessing a situation and coming up with a strategy, even if she'd rather delegate them to other people rather than carry them out herself.
Any Unique Abilities/Skills: Minako has the ability to use magic. When she casts a spell, she writes different glyphs into the air that glow and shimmer before carrying out the intended function. She can do various things and can even use different styles of magic than this one, but the "writing" style is more specific to her.
Any traces of magic are easy for her pick up on and make an analysis. Magic would need to have a great barrier in place for her to miss its presence.
She is agile and quick, with great dexterity at her disposal.
She is clever and quick-witted, able to change her actions accordingly in the blink of an eye.
History: Minako lives in a world called Adonis. It's an icy and bitterly cold place that is in perpetual winter. In the center is a floating kingdom amongst a twisting maze of stairs, towers, and homes, that continuously rise up until they reach the peak of the island. The peak is where the castle itself sits, surrounded by disembodied crystalline wings that wrap around the castle in great spikes.
Minako lives within this floating castle with her creation, Natsuna, and the ruler of Adonis, King Saijyo Ace. She's a close part of the King's court, and has lived amongst the refinery of his castle ever since she was little.
Other Noteworthy Facts: An intricate entwined design is tattooed onto Minako's back, spanning the entire area and even going onto her shoulders and down the back of her arms. It bears a resemblance to a bird, perhaps a phoenix.
Minako carries with her a tall golden staff. It's thin and rather plain until it reaches the top, in which the gold arcs out in a fan shape, looking similar to spread wings. Little gems sit inside the connecting pieces, while a large roughly shaped pale crystal sits in the center between the two "wings", floating without assistance.
Storyline Specific Information: TBA
RP Sample: The water was warm.
Out of place, for a time such as this.
Minako wanted it to be cold, to ache, to bite at her skin with icy fingers that pulled her down. Down and down until it was impossible to go back up to the surface. Perhaps then she could forget what she'd done. What she
hadn't done.
And what she still had yet to do.
But even the water denied her. It felt warm and inviting, like the luxury of bathwater newly poured into the basin.
This, however, was not a place where she could wash away her sins. Did a place like that even exist?
She took another look at the body encased in crystal. The serene expression on his face, his pale hair fanned like a halo, he could almost be...
Minako smiled. Casting one last lingering look around this special pool, she began to swim up to the surface, breaking through with a splash. She breathed in deep the cold air, relishing the way it ached in her lungs. It was a familiar sensation that helped to ground her to the present.
"Minako!"
The worried voice came from the only being Minako expected to hear. Natsuna held out a towel, dark eyes rather blank, but her expression was pulled down in a facsimile of concern. It was the most Natsuna was capable of, and it touched Minako to see it now. She accepted the offered towel with a smile and placed her hand on Natsuna's head as a way of thanks.
Natsuna leaned into the touch. "Is King Saijyo Ace sleeping?"
"Yes," Minako replied, lips coming up into a half-smile. She was unable to keep herself from glancing back towards the pool of water behind her. "Yes. It was the only thing I could do."
A pause. "What will you do now, Minako?"
Minako looked back at her, before stretching out and leaning backwards, resting up against the raised walls of the pool. "Well, I can't stay here anymore. Not in this castle, not even in Adonis."
Natuna stared at her, dark eyes uncomprehending as she leaned in to get a little closer to her creator. "Not Adonis?" she questioned. "What do you mean? Where will you go?"
Minako smiled. "Far away from King Saijyo Ace. As far away as possible." Natsuna peered at her with those blank eyes, brows furrowed as she tried to understand. Minako's smile turned affectionate. "Ah, don't worry your pretty head about it." She hugged Natsuna tight, realizing that she would miss this being far more than she first realized. Still, it couldn't be helped. Time was running short now. She needed to be off before she missed her chance. But first... "Can I ask you to do something for me?"
"Anything for Minako," Natsuna replied instantly, voice far more sure than it had been previously.
"When..." Minako trailed off, smiling, before changing her words. "If the King awakes, contact me. I'll need to change your shape a little though, if that's okay?"
At Natsuna's nod of acceptance, Minako raised her golden staff, a swirl of magic emanating from its large crystal. The swirls intertwined around Natsuna's limbs and hair, wrapping around her as her shape began to lengthen and stretch.
It was a small and easy spell that didn't require much concentration or even proper casting, and just a few seconds later, Natsuna was now covering the pool of water, protecting its surface like a shimmering casing. Minako reached out to touch Natsuna's new shape, and whispered a thanks. It warmed to her touch for a brief moment before settling back to perform its new duty.
Now it was time to leave. Still... She tried to stop herself from looking down into the depths of the pool once more, tried to ignore the encased body. But her blue eyes looked anyway, smile on her lips and brows furrowed. "Try to have good dreams," she told that sleeping form.
Then, she tore her eyes away and began the spell before she could convince herself otherwise.
She drew intricate glyphs into the air with the butt of her staff. They glowed and twinkled around her, encircling her. With a rush of power, the spell was complete and she could feel the tug of teleportation magic pulling her to the domain of the Dimensional Witch, and away from this place she called home.
Minako smiled and vanished.
