Character Name: Minako Aino
Gender: Female
Age and Date of Birth: 16 / October 22nd

Used Canons: Sailor Moon manga and anime. Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie and TV series.

Appearance: Minako is considered to be a beautiful young lady. She has long flowing blonde hair, which is usually pulled back just a bit on the sides with a red bow. She has sparkling, bright blue eyes and stands at only five feet and two inches tall. Her skin is best described as lightly sun kissed, she's not overly pale, but hasn't gotten too tanned either. Due to her love for sports, she has quite an athletic type build; slim, toned. She's usually wearing a smile on her face and can be seen wearing pretty much any color clothing as long as she deems it 'fashionable', though her favorite colors tend to be red, orange, and yellow. Much like with her colors of clothing, she wears almost any type of clothes, though she tends to lead more towards feminine type styles.



Personality: Mina is an energetic girl, who's friends have been known to describe her as hilarious, sometimes ditzy, and spunky. She's passionate about the things she loves and isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in or thinks is right, even if that means she's standing alone. She's headstrong, outgoing, and is very ambitious. Once she sets her mind on something, there's usually little that anyone can do to change it. She likes to be involved in her friends lives, especially the romantic side of things, rather they want her to or not. But they know she does it out of her love for them, and that she would always be there for them if they needed anything at all. She's always willing to help out if needed and never passes up the opportunity to give advice. Although she's not the best student, especially when it comes to math, but she's quite intelligent and witty. She loves sports, especially volleyball, and would probably be able to play any of them and succeed.

Due to her history with her mother, Mina doesn't really care for her too much. In fact, you could say she 'hated' her mother. It's not really in her nature to hate someone, but she definitely strongly disliked her mother for the way she was always criticizing every little thing she did in her life. On the list of other things she 'strongly disliked' are only a few things. She tries her best to stay positive and open about almost everything, but her dislike for shiitake mushrooms and math were definitely a contradiction to that philosophy.

Though Mina can usually be seen just being silly with her friends, when she started to embrace her Slayer destiny, she took it very seriously. It gave her the sense that she was special and needed; two things she never really felt until then. She loves being a Slayer, even though it means keeping a secret, which she sometimes isn't the best at! She always dreamed of being special one day, and now she was! It wasn't exactly the way she imagined it would be, but she was content with the way things have ended up.


Any Unique Abilities/Skills: She has the powers of the Slayer; superhuman senses, strength, agility, resilience and speed. She can also occasionally receive prophetic dreams in the first few hours of sleeping.

History

Growing up, Minako had never had a great home life. Her mother would nag her about every little thing in her life, no topic went untouched. If she got an A on a test, she should of gotten an A+. Came in second in a contest, should of been first. She's too slow, too fast, too gullible. It didn't matter how hard she tried to please her mother, nothing was ever good enough. Her father was no help at all, always afraid of standing up to his wife. He was reserved, quiet, and never really said much; choosing to focus on his work to escape reality. Minako never understood how her parents ever ended up together, let alone stayed together this long. She guessed it was because her father could take care of her mother and her, while being too scared to ever actually stand up for himself and leave his wife.

Maybe all these reasons are why she always dreamed of being something special in her life. From a very young age, Minako would sit in her room and dream of being someone other than who she currently was. She could be an amazing doctor that saved people's lives, or maybe a famous singer that moved people with her spectacular voice, or maybe she could even be a teacher who's students just loved her to no end. She wasn't sure what she would become, but she wished, dreamed, and knew that one day she would be someone important.


Outside of her home, her life was pretty normal. She tried her best to get good grades at school, she participated in various sports, had quite a few friends, and was even the best singer in her Chorus class. Her life was kind of like one from a High School themed movie. The girl that all the guys wanted to date because of her looks and personality, and all of the girls wanted to be/be friends with. Everything was pretty great at school. That is, until she met Artemis.


When Mina was fifteen, on her way home one night from her friend’s house, she ran in to a mysterious and strange man. He approached her, introduced himself as Artemis, and told her that she was the Chosen One and that he was her Watcher. She just shook it off and continued walking, assuming he was some guy that had a little too much to drink at the bar that night. The things he was saying made no sense at all. That night, she dreamt of women from various time periods fighting monsters. Well, ‘monsters’ is the only way she could think to explain it. They looked like normal people at some points, then could instantly contort their face, become vicious, and have two long front teeth. Minako passed it off as nothing, just a weird nightmare that she for some reason had. At least…that’s what she originally thought.
                                                  
After the sixth night of having the same dream, she began to worry. It wasn’t normal to have the same exact nightmare multiple times in your life, let alone consecutive nights in a row. That, combined with the fact that she kept seeing this Artemis guy everywhere she went, she started to get creeped out. The next day, tired of feeling like some sort of extinct zoo animal with the way that he kept watching her, she approached Artemis, asking him why he kept following her and what did he want. He explained that she was the Chosen One: the one girl in all of the world that had the strength and skill to fight the vampires, demon, and forces of darkness on her own, she was the Slayer. He was assigned to be her Watcher, someone who helps train and protect the Slayer. He was merely following her to tr and keep an eye on her, to make sure she was safe.
 
Mina scoffed at the man. Did he think she was 5 years old? She knew vampires and demons didn’t exist. They were just subjects for movies and horror stories. Through powers of persuasion, and using Minako’s curiosity against her, Artemis was able to convince her to meet up with him that night so that he could show her that what he was telling her wasn’t a lie. That night changed her life forever. She saw her first vampires, watched as Artemis killed one, and then helped kill one as well. She couldn’t believe her eyes at what she was seeing. These creatures were terrifying, and looked exactly like the ones from her dreams. That night, she knew there was no going back.
 
For the next year, everything went pretty well. Minako, though reluctant at first, embraced her Slayer destiny. She knew she was going to be someone/something special, she just never expected it to be this. But she grew to enjoy it. With help and training from Artemis, she began to tap in to her inhuman like strength and started to develop skills that helped her in her fights. She started to enjoy being a Slayer. It gave her a purpose in the world and made her feel special. She would patrol at night, trying to keep her town safe from any creatures that went ‘bump in the night’, and still went to school during the day. She tried to stay at least a somewhat good student, though in her mind, her Slayer duties came before anything else.
 
Then everything changed for her, yet again. One night, while on her patrol, Mina was fighting an already pretty big group of vampires. She knew she would be able to take them, regardless of the fact that they had her outnumbered. But, what she didn’t see, was the two vampires that snuck up behind her while she was fighting. They grabbed her and sunk their fangs in to both sides of her neck. Mina screamed from pure pain, and tried to get them off of her, but there was just way too many and she was growing weak from the loss of blood. Slowly, she descended into darkness.

With a huge gasp, Minako sat up. Groggily, she looked around the room trying to determine where she was. The glaring white walls and the distinct smell, told her she was in a hospital. But how? Last thing she remembered was being in the park, fighting vamps, when….she shivered involuntarily. She didn’t want to remember what happened next. She looked over to her left, and saw a smiling, though surprised looking, Artemis sitting in a nearby chair. He explained that someone had found her in the park after hearing a scream, and had called an ambulance. She had died, but the hospital was able to revive her somehow. The doctors didn’t know if she would ever wake up or if she’d stay in a coma for the rest of her life. Thankfully, she was awake and alive.


The next month or so, Minako refused to go back on patrol. The thoughts and memories of what had occurred last time she did, flooded her mind. She was terrified. Nothing she did was able to take her mind off of it. She eventually asked her parents if she could move in with her Aunt, in another town, and her parents agreed. Well, her mom agreed (most likely just to get rid of her) and her dad agreed just because his wife did. So, Mina packed her things and left to start over in a new town. She was excited to try and put what happened behind her. Start a new life without any problems. Little did she know that things were about to get much, much worse.

Birds chirping. That was what Minako woke up to that morning. It’s the simplest of sounds, that most people hear (and get tired of) every day of their lives. She had heard them before as well, but never truly appreciated their lovely sounding songs until that morning. She opened her eyes and stretched, smiling to herself. It was a brand new day, a brand new start.

Mina had recently moved in with her Aunt, a kind lady who always wanted children, but never actually had any, to try and escape past events. She didn’t know much about her Aunt as they weren’t really all that close, but she had always been nice and sweet to her, so she couldn’t really complain. It was better than her parents back in her old town.  The past still seemed to haunt her, even though she had been in this new town for a few weeks now. Mina had thought moving towns would be the answer to all of her problems. She didn’t expect the nightmares and flashbacks to go away as soon as she stepped foot in the place, but she didn’t think they’d still be going on.

She sighed to herself and tried to shake her mind from the images. There was nothing she could do now, what happened had happened, and there was no use in dwelling on it any more than her mind forced her to. Standing up, she headed In to the bathroom for a nice warm shower and to do her hair. It was her first day at her new school. She was a little nervous, since she didn’t know any of the kids in this town and they had already been in school for a couple months now, but she never had a hard time making friends. It was one of the greatest things about her.

She quickly got dressed in one of her favorite outfits, a orange flowy dress accompanied with red high heels. It was a little dressy for school, but she wanted to make a great first impression. Plus the outfit made her feel feminine and pretty, and what girl doesn’t want to feel that way? She grabbed a banana from the fruit basket and headed out the front door as quietly as she could so she wouldn’t wake up her Aunt.

The journey to school was uneventful. She ate her banana slowly, while she walked the mile or so to the high school. The nerves started to take over more and more with every step she took. Would the other students like her? Would her teachers like her? Minako couldn't stop these thoughts from flooding her mind. She wasn't usually someone who got nervous, she was actually pretty confident all in all, but for some reason she just was. She smiled as she approached the school gates, tried to shake off the nervous/anxious feeling she had, and entered the school.

Because this is an Advanced profile, I'm going to have to ask you to add some more details to your Appearance and Personality sections. Here are some ideas (:

Appearance: Could you add a sentence or two about Minako's body type (she's thin, things like that xD) and her complexion? You could also add some information regarding what type of clothing she likes to wear best (shorts, skirts, dresses, etc.). 

Personality: Could you take the lists of likes and dislikes and put them into complete sentences? That way your personality section is expanded and everything is in paragraph format. You could also talk about her dreams and goals, and how she takes her role as Slayer very seriously.

Any Unique Abilities/Skills: Is strength and agility the only unique abilities of a Slayer? I just want to check (: If there are more, could you add them?

History: Did the vampire bites have any effect on Minako, or is this information that will be revealed in the storyline?

Storyline Specific Information: Are you going to add the SSI for Usagi the Vampire Slayer, or are you waiting until the roleplay is complete to add it?

As for the history, the bites didn't do anything to effect her, is that something that I need to add in? =o And the Storyline Specific Information I was going to fill out as we went and things started happening =o

I'm not sure what effect being bitten by a vampire has in the Buffy universe, so I just went by what I know from other stories and assumed being bitten changes you into a vampire. I could be wrong in regards to this universe, though xD
