Haha, I'm so happy too! S is my favourite  arc I'm the old series so I'm very curious as to how Crystal will tackle it. I love the Infinity arc of the manga too, and hope we get the full scope of destruction that is presented  in the last chapters of the arc.

Even though i'm very opposed to this new season, i might watch the first episode just to see if anythings changed.

Hopefully the writing gets better (along with the animation)

I was trying to look for a source the other day and I found one site saying that he mentioned leaving to work on other projects on his twitter. Sooo its a big chance he was "let go" as you say and he just said he was leaving on his twitter.

I really love this part of the manga, it's to me, idk kinda one that stands apart for the rest of the arcs. I really hope they do Saturn justice,

Thinking on that, one of the things I liked about Hotaru in the manga was that she was a cyborg. I hope they keep that.

Ummm.....i wasn't being disrespectful in anyway (excluding towards to the animators/writers of SMC). All i was saying was that it's petty to dislike a comment just because it says something bad about SMC

Cyborg Hotaru-ehh?? i honestly never cared that much about it. I think my biggest problem with Infinity is to do with Professor Tomoe and how he was handled. It really bugs me about how he was just killed off in the manga. It's almost like Sailor Moon was thinking "Tomoe was possessed by an evil being therefore it means he must be killed! Hotaru won't mind that her father is dead!"

^I do prefer the fact that Tomoe was healed in the 90s anime. I much prefer the redemption aspect of the 90s anime in comparison to the manga where most villains get one shotted.  However, what I like about cyborg Hotaru is how I think the science aspect of the Death Busters plays in. Also it makes her body even more of an empty shell that makes it easy to be taken over by Mistress 9 and just makes her story a bit more tragic because her father went so far as to make her an almost fully mechanical being in order to save her but also sacrificed himself in order to be able to do that. Thus why he fully turned into germatoid and was really Tomoe no more at that point (which is why they killed him off).

I will admit that the reformation of villains in the anime was overdone, it's way better than saving no one (Amazoness Quartet don't count since their Senshi)

What i'm interested to see in this 3rd/2nd season is Saturns transformation sequence. Will they use CGI to match the inners or do what they did with Chibimoon and make it 2D?

I personally loved Tomoe  being a complete monster and submitting to utilization in order to become the "super being" that he couldn't create. I think most people confuse this about Tomoe in the manga when he really implanted Hotaru with a daimon egg WILLINGLY.

I also remember Professor Tomoe was more of an archetype mad scientist in the manga, who turned his daughter into a cyborg because the opportunity presented itself when she was injured during the fire that also killed his wife.

In the 90's anime he was a dedicated scientist who tried desperately to save his daughter from death, and unwittingly turned both her and himself into monsters and became tools for Pharaoh 90.

Personally though, I prefer the 90's depiction of Prof. Tomoe, partly because I'm also a scientist and I dislike depictions of scientists as uncaring, evil one-dimensional villains in popular culture. I like the humanized depiction of him as a flawed man whose love for his daughter resulted in grave consequences.

I'm personally excited for this a lot and I'm just excited we're getting more of the manga adapted.  Infinity arc is also one of my top favorite arcs and I'm excited we'll actually get to see the final battle with Pharaoh 90 this time.  As much as I loved the original 90s anime version, it always frustrated me we only got to hear the final battle and I always felt the ending to the anime version of S was disappointingly anti-climatic compared to the rest of the season.

Nothing can beat 90s Anime Tomoe though... just frI'm the lols.
I wonder if they will keep my favorite scene, mistress 9 cackling like a maniac the same. I want that so bad lol. She actually looked frightening.

Yessss Professor Tomoe was hilarious in the 90s anime. The insane cackling and the random activities he did in his spare time (e.g., manically laughing at a male model magazine, playing twister, and of course the treadmill scene)
But we aren't gonna get much of that in crystal because the manga is much more serious.

I made an interesting observation while thumbing through the manga today: the last chapter of the Infinity arc i.e. Act 38, flows into the Dream arc, much like how the last chapter of the Dark Kingdom arc leads into the Black Moon arc. Since SMC followed the same format as the manga, and flowed from one arc into the other in a single episode, I wonder if we'll also see the Dream arc follow right behind the Infinity arc personally I think it would be awesome! But I don't want to read too much into it, especially when we don't even have a release date for the Infinity arc yet.

Well I think its safe to say that seeing how the first season of Crystal went down (announcing it, saying its 26 eps and follows the first arc, didn't mention anything about Black Moon arc until it started airing, etc etc) its likely we will get dream (which would be kinda awesome).

Though you know, thinking on it...technically the first two arcs aren't really divded. Naoko doesn't give them an official "Dark Kingdom Arc" kind of name until the "Infinity Arc". The only reason fans have always thought of them as two seperate arcs was because of the 90s anime.

So...maybe the first two arcs were always supposed to be considered as one and thats why when they said itd cover the first arc of the manga they literally meant both Dark Kingdom AND Black Moon.

^ I think you have a good point there! I think it's kinda natural that the third and fourth arcs are connected, since the question of when the Outer senshi would return was left up in the air. But I'd never thought about it that way until you pointed it out.

Well the entire issue is that the chapters in the Infinity arc (and beyond) start getting increasing longer compared to the earlier two arcs so there is no way they would be able to cover everything if one season consisted of both Infinity and Dream. Even people who liked the show said that following the manga exactly chapter by chapter was a mistake and is something they shouldn't do again. I honestly feel like when Crystal was first announced they had no idea what they were doing before they finally had to stop delaying and settled on adapting the manga (whether they do it out of actual respect for Naoko's work or they did it because it's easier to copy something that already exists than come up with a new spin on the story...we'll never know.) Either way, hopefully they get a good director, learn from their mistakes, and the money from merchandise can help make the show better.

Which is why i think Crystal isn't that good. It's copying an already existing story. It didn't need to exist. If Naoko specifically asked for Toei to adapt her manga page for page, i would understand why but there really is no official confirmation about it.

Well, the words aren't really that random... they have something to do with the Act. Naoko also did that with the first 26 chapters, it was just two different words.

It's pretty hard to come up with titles for thing sometimes too. After the Infinity arc, she just called the chapters Dream 2, Mercucy Dream, or whatever. And then in Stars it was just Stars 1, Stars 2, etc.

This means they might do supers and later my favorite arc stars. (I can hope.)

While I'll be enjoying the new season, I'll be keeping my eyes out for hints about the other arcs.
