Appearance:Rei is a beautiful young woman with long dark hair reaching to her waist that appears to be purple when the sun hits it, and gorgeous, expressive purple eyes. Her school uniform consists of a grey skirt, with a long sleeved white blouse. She has a red bow on the front which connects to the collar of her uniform, which is the same grey as her skirt. The collar has a red stripe on it. She wears white knee high socks with black shoes. She also has a jacket which is the same colour as her skirt. As she is a Miko priestess at a Shinto shrine. Her outfit consists of a pair of red hakama, and a white haori. When she is not wearing her school uniform, her miko outfit, or her Senshi outfit, Rei prefers to dress comfortably while still paying attention to the fashions of the time.
Personality: She is hot blooded, strong-willed and at times can be bossy but she always means well. She is incredibly loyal to her friends, especially Sailor Moon/Usagi. She is incredibly determined and has a strong sense of justice. She bickers with her friends and loves to tease them. Sailor Mars is also incredibly capable of being a stoic, serious individual when the situation calls for it. She does not involve herself from men, going so far as to swear them off for life. This may due in part to her estrangement from her politician father. She can also be reserved at times, not wanting to worry her friends with her problems. She also shares a strong bond with Minako, both of them relying on each other for emotional support and the desire to protect their princess.
Rei works hard to make her appearance seem perfect, as if she puts no effort into it at all. She works very hard to achieve what she wants in life. She wants others to think that her successes came from her natural talents and her friends see on occasion how hard she works. She is a quit talented singer and plays the guitar and piano and occasionally composes her own songs. She is also into martial arts and a talented skier.
She tends to voice her disapproval of things, especially in the beginning, but she eventual softens up. She is still very dominant however, as she will not hesitate to fight, which makes her brave and very capable, both in life in her civilian form and as a senshi. Rei is also a natural leader. In the 90s anime, she was the one who took the position of leader rather than Minako. If anything should happen to Minako, Rei would easily be able to step up and take charge of the senshi.
Rei is very attuned to the spiritual world. She was born with her powers, and has grown up with them. This has made many people view her as being odd. In the manga, her dream is to become the head priestess at Hikawa Shrine, as her spirituality and the shrine play a huge part of her life. She is more interested in learning ancient traditions than learning more modern ones.
She doesn’t like to have to rely on other people. Rei much prefers to be the one that people rely on. In the manga and PGSM, she has difficulty trusting people and working as a team, preferring to do it on her own. This was reflected in the 90s anime to a point where she received a premonition about silence in the S arc and didn’t tell anyone for quite some time, trying to work it out on her own.
Any Unique Abilities/Skills:Psychic Powers: Perhaps due to her being a Shinto Priestess, Rei is able to do fire readings, use Ofuda Scrolls to vanquish evil, and receive premonitions of things to come. She is also very spiritually aware, perhaps more so than even Sailor Neptune. Her powers also allow her to sense evil.
Archery: As with most Mikos, Rei is excellent in archery and uses this skill in one of her attacks, Mars Flame Sniper.
Musical Talents: She is very musically gifted, able to sing, write her own music, and play the piano and guitar.
History: In the Silver Millennium, Rei Hino was Princess Mars. She was the ruler of the planet Mars and one of Princess Serenity’s guardians, tasked with the job of protecting her. When the Dark Kingdom attacked, she along with everyone else died. However, Queen Serenity was able to send them to the future to be reincarnated and have a second chance of life.
Rei like the others lived her life until she was 14 with no memories of her past life and with her powers dormant, with the exception of her psychic powers. When Jadeite was kidnapping people on a bus route that was close to her shrine, she had gone to try and save them. In the other dimension with Sailor Moon, her powers awoke and she was able to transform into Sailor Mars for the first time. She quickly became friends with the other senshi and continues to battle evil with them.
Rei lives at a Hikawa Shrine, a Shinto shrine, where she works as a priestess after school and on weekends. She attends T.A Private Girls School, an expensive and elite school. Her mother died when she was young and her father is a famous politician, who is more concerned about his career than he is with her.
When her powers awoke when she was 14, she made close friends with the other inner senshi, who she loves and continues to be friends with to this day. She has a special bond with her princess, Usagi, in which they do bicker and fight, but love each other dearly. She also shares a close bond with Minako, the two girls relying on each other emotionally to be able to get through the hard times.
Storyline Specific Information:
Love's Spiral- Rei knew that something was going on with Minako. Her blonde friend was becoming more withdrawn and sullen and the senshi of Mars had no clue why. Attempting to bring it up with their other friends leaves her frustrated when her concerns are dismissed. Needing to know what's wrong with her friend, Rei decides to investigate herself, which leads to some interesting scenarios as the two friends slowly begin to fall in love.
Little Moon Soldiers- At the tender age of 11, Sailor Mars, known to friends and family as Enyo, has been summoned to the Moon by Queen Serenity to serve as Princess Serenity's future guard. Leaving behind all that she has ever known, Enyo has to find her way in this scary new world, while getting to know the other three girls that make up her new team, all while taking care of a baby! Mars is a determined solider and is use to terrifying all the kids back home. No one really knows how to be around her because she's so aggressive. Because of this she's never really had many friends before. She solves problems by shooting first and asking questions later. However, she has to find someway to reign in her temper around the Princess and there's just something about her that touches the gentle part of her heart.

Her appearance is the same with the exception of her long tail and her two fox ears, both of which are the same shade as her hair. Rei is able to use her magic to cast illusions to hide her fox ears and tail and give her the appearance of human ears when she needs to pass as a human, such as when she goes to school.

- History:
Her back history is the same in respect to loosing her mother at an early age and her father, being a busy politician sends her to live at the Shrine.
Her mother was a Kitsune, which is where Rei gets her powers from. Her mother died when she was young girl, trying to protect her daughter. Due to the fact that her mother only had eight tails, she wasn't truly immortal and was killed. Her father had been unaware that his wife was a Kitsune or that his daughter was, Rei's mother having used her magic to hide this fact from her husband.
Before Rei meets up with the other's, she meets Vbabe who keeps following her around and wanting to work with her. Rei puts up with her grudgingly after she realizes that no matter what she says or does, she won't get ride of the blonde. When she started to fight evil, something that simply felt like the right thing to do, she decided to go by the Kitsune. What better way to hide her Kitsune nature than in plain sight? She knew most would think that her tail and ears were somehow fake.
- Personality:
Same personality. Rei does have some inner conflict when it comes to her Kitsune side. It is a part of her that she needs to hide from the vast majority of the world, less she is cast out. The only person that knows she is a Kitsune is her grandfather at the shrine. Constantly hiding has made her feel isolated and alone. While she is comfortable in her skin and fully accepts herself as she is, she still worries about how others perceive her, even though she puts on an air that she doesn't.
- Powers and Abilities:

- Enhanced Strength: as a Kitsune, Rei is stronger than the average human, allowing her to lift and carry things that regular humans, even body builders or people who weight train, cannot.
- Enhanced Durability: Able to endure damage more than a normal human which allows her to take a lot of damage before succumbing to injuries.
- Enhanced Senses: As a Kitsune, Rei is able to see in total darkness and low light conditions. She also has a better sense of smell than humans, akin to a fox, and her sense of hearing, thanks to her Kitsune ears is far superior than human hearing.
- Immortality: Once she reaches her mid twenties, she will no longer age physically but her power will increase with her age, as will the number of tail she has. Once she has nine tails, she will become truly immortal and will be impossible to kill. She will gain tails naturally as she ages, as each kitsune is different, there is no set age when they will gain another tail.
- Illusions: Rei is able to cast illusions to make herself appear like something or someone else. She primarily does this to hide her tail and ears and appear more human.
- Claws: She has sharp claws on her hands that she can extend and retract at will. Able to cut through cloth and most clothing items such as leather etc.
- Fox Fire and Fire Manipulation: This kind of fire is special in many ways. It is harder to put out than naturally incurring fire, but acts like fire. Rei is able to change herself into her fox fire in order to travel to other places faster by flying as Fox Fire. She is also able to call upon regular fire and control it. Both fires she is able to control the intensity and heat as well as the shape and has pinpoint accuracy with using it. Fox Fire appears to be blue and is hotter than her regular fire, which is the normal orange/red/yellow.
Rei as a Kitsune isn't invincible. She can be hurt and killed if she takes enough damage to kill her before she gains full immortality. The more tails she has, the more damage she can take as it becomes progressively harder to do enough damage to her to kill her.

Senshi Fuku: Sailor Mars’s colours are a red with purple for the front bow. There is a red round button on her front bow. Her gloves are white, with a red cuff at the end, which ends at her elbow. Her shoes are red with small heels on them. She wears red star earrings.
Super Upgrade: Her colours remain the same with her super upgrade. She now sports a yellow star on her choker. The button on her front bow is now a heart instead of a circle and the bow on the back is longer. Her earrings remain the same.
Eternal Upgrade: Her tiara has changed, where she has a red star instead of an oval gem. Her earrings have remained the same. The star on her choker has remained the same, however, her boots are now knee length and white, with the top of them have a star with a red rim, and she wears a red belt with a star that connects to the top of her skirt. Her collar now has a gold strip instead of a white one. Her sleeves are transparent pink, forming a puffy circle, which ends in a 2-tier cuff. Her gloves have remained the same. There is now a red star on her front bow and her back bow has shortened and is now pink in colour, and now has long red ribbons that extend from it. Her second tier of her skirt is the same pink as her back bow.
Powers: Akuryou Taisan: Used in both senshi and civilian forms. Reciting an ancient Japanese chant, she callsout Akuryou Taisan and uses the ofuda on the enemy.
Fire Soul: A fireball forms at the tips of her fingertips and swirls out to hit the intended target.
Fire Soul Bird: Similar to Fire Soul, using the Ofuda as well, so the fireball becomes the soul of a phoenix and is much stronger than her normal Fire Soul Attack.
Burning Mandala: She is surrounded by glowing orbs of symbols that become a ring of fire that she can shoot at the enemy.
Mars Flame Sniper: Mars throws out her hands and calls a bow that is made of pure fire before shooting an arrow made of fire at the enemy. An incredibly strong attack.
Mars Snake FireWeapons or Magical Items: Transformation Pen- Allows her to transform
Communication Device- allows her to communicate with the other senshi.
Ofuda Scrolls- she uses these both in her civilian form and in her attacks as Sailor Mars to help vanish evil.
Guardian (if needed): Phobos and Deimos are her primary guardians and when the girls are together, Artemis and Luna help to guide her as well. Phobos and Deimos are the two crows that live on the shrine Rei and her family inhabit. They are the guardians of the Moons of the planet Mars. Artemis and Luna are two beings from the planet Mau who acted as guardians and advisers to Queen Serenity during the Silver Millennium. When everyone reincarnated, Luna awoke Usagi, Rei, Ami and Makoto, while Artemis found Minako, awaking her a year before the rest to act as Sailor V.
RP Sample: Rei sat in front of the fire in the shrine, eyes closed in concentration. “Rin, pyou, tou, sha, kai, jin, retsu, zai, zen,” she murmured, making the appropriate hand signs while she chanted. She could sense evil was near, and was hoping that by consulting the fire, she would be able to see what was coming, what new kind of threat she needed to protect her princess and future queen from. They never seemed to be able to catch a break. They were almost finished high school, and in the years since they defeated Shadow Galactica, they had only had minor times of peace. They had been lucky so far that no big enemies had come to earth, and it had so far only been minor enemies, but still. She knew that all of them needed a break. She couldn’t help but wonder when the event that caused the creation of Crystal Tokyo would occur. When they had met Neo Queen Serenity in the future, she seemed to be in her late teens, early 20s physically. Rei couldn’t help but worry that any new threat that she sensed could be the one that caused the world to freeze and for Usagi to change and became her future self.
“Rin, pyou, tou, sha, kai, jin, retsu, zai, zen,” she said again, when the fire remained stubbornly silent. Perhaps she wasn’t meant to see what the threat was just yet, or perhaps the threat was simply passing by and it would skip earth all together. She could only be so lucky to hope that the second option was true. A knock on the room door drew her out of her musings.
“Come in,” she called softly. She was obviously not going to get anything tonight; she may as well take a break. She stretched her arms over her head as she waited for whomever it was to make themselves known.
“Have you learnt anything?” Minako asked, her feet making soft noises as she made her way over to Rei and sat down beside her.
“No, and I’m not sure if I should be concerned or not that I can’t see anything in the fire,” the Shinto priestess responded, frowning.
“I’m sure you’ll be able to see it when the time comes,” the blonde-haired woman assured her friend, smiling. “Perhaps you can’t see anything because it’s not a threat to us?”
“I had been thinking the same thing,” Mars admitted quietly. “I still cannot help but worry. We desperately need a break, we’ve been through so much these last few years.”
“The lets go out and have a girl’s night!” Minako suggested, clapping her hands together in excitement. “We haven’t gone out as a group and had a girl’s night in forever, and besides, it’s Friday night, we can probably even drag Ami-chan out with us!”
“You should probably call her then and let her know now. You know how she hates being dragged away from her studies last minute unless it’s an emergency,” Rei said smiling, remembering the last time Minako had tried to convince Ami to go out with them and hadn’t given her enough warning to wrap up her studies. Ami had refused, citing that she was in a good place for studying and simply could not stop now. “I’ll be out in a moment,” she added, when she saw her friend hesitate when it looked like Rei wasn’t getting up with her. Minako nodded in understanding, silently making her way back to the door, closing it silently behind her. She stared at the fire for a few more moments, hoping that it would reveal its secrets to her before sighing, and getting up. She was getting too frustrated and that never helped. She glanced at clock that ticked away quietly in the room. It was time to get ready for Minako’s girl’s night out. She left the room and headed to her own, determined to allow herself to relax and have fun tonight.
