Personality:
At the surface, Noelani is a charming, charasmatic young lady.  However, deep down she is very immature and self conscious. 
 
Because she never had any real friends, she has somewhat unrealistic expectations of people. She makes snap judgements of people and becomes baffled whenever they do not match her judgement

History:
Noelani's mother died in childbirth and her father had dies in the war before she was born.  Because of this, she was raised by her uncle, a powerful general in the Calypso military.  He was incredibly protective of her, despite often being away from home for months at a time.  Noalani primarily grew up with the servants and their children.  While she had everything she could have ever needed, this stunted her social development.  She always got her way with the other children.  Once, another child had accidentally hurt her while playing and her uncle immediately fired his parents.  She never really had a true friend. When she was old enough to realize other kids only played with her because of her uncle, she decided to keep to herself.  She often turned to reading to pass the time
 
The General decided that she would be raised to be a proper lady.  This meant that she had access to the best possible education in areas such as literature, history, art, dance, and music.  At the same time however, he ordered that she be sheltered from much of the world.  She was told never to leave the grounds and was forbidden from using her powers as a senshi.  Unknown to him, she had sweet-talked some of the guards into allowing her to leave at night so that she could explore Calypso.

When she first saw the suffering of the people in town, she was confused.  She had heard of the war, but had no idea how much it had impacted people.  She wanted to do something to help these people.  She gave away some of her jewels to a family she came accross, but they told her that they had no use for her money.  As long as the Chaos was spreading, the people would live in this despair.  Noelani began to train as a senshi during her nighttime exscursions, hopeful that one day she could help drive out the chaos.

One day, she met a young soldier from a neighboring moon named Nestor.  He had been sent with a message for her uncle, who was away on a long mission.  Noelani was incredibly attracted to this man and invited him to stay in the castle for a while to rest before going back onto the battlefield.  He said that he could only stay for a few days, but Noelani instructed the guards to keep him there as long as she pleased.  She assumed that he would fall in love with her and eventually he would not want to leave.

Months passed and Nestor and Noelani eventually developed a pleasant relationship.  They spent each day together, and Nestor appeared to enjoy her company despite being essentially a prisoner.  However, outside of the castle there was unrest as Nestor's home moon was about to cut all ties with Calypso, because they assumed that the General killed Nestor when he did not return.

The General rushed home and was furious when he discovered the missing soldier had been with Noelani the whole time.  He berated her, telling her that she nearly sent them into yet another war.  He decided that he clearly gave her too much freedom and ordered her to stay in her chamber until further notice.

In this moment, Noelani realized that she truly did not have anyone who cared about her.  She became determined to join the other Saturnian senshi, both to help end the war and to find her place in the world.
