We have had a lot of concern about being able to express the love for this couple, so I figured I would start a thread for others to discuss

Like you said, not many of us like to consider Usagi and Seiya as a couple, but I always wished they would have been together though I still like Mamoru.

In the Anime version, I often felt Mamoru was being cruel toward Usagi conscerning their relationship, but of course, it was sometimes only to protect her. It tourmented me every time we felt she loved him way much more than he did...

And so came Seiya, he was fun, always wanted to protect Usagi just as much as Mamoru did, truly cared about her and always been sweet to her. He even respected the fact it wasn't him she was in love with and that's another reason why I love Seiya so much.

They would have been a cute couple and their personalities just were so compatible. I'm glad you started this thred Galaxia

Thanks you, Galaxia. I made my own rp on tumblr for this pairing, but not many others like this couple. I equally put Mamoru and Seiya with Usagi, to be honest. =//o

I agree, I like both couples equally but there's a connection between Seiya and Usagi that will never be there between Mamoru and her. It might also be the fact that Seiya is my kinda guy, it's just his attitude - he's a stirrer and funny, he likes to have fun and he's kind to Usagi.

I laugh so much in the episodes involving Usagi and him so I always like things that make me laugh. ^__^

Thanks for starting this thread. It's a small community that ship Usagi X Seiya. But at least I'm not alone.

I personaly like Seiya better than Mamoru. Not that I dislike Usa/Mamo, It's just that Seiya seems like a better fit for Usagi. Not to mention that her more her age with more things in common than with Mamoru. Actually, I don't think Mamoru has anything in comun with her :?:

They have more fun and live some ackward funny moments together. Usa and Mamoru's connection is more serious, usually no jokes or anything. But I still like Mamo x Usa couple a lot too.

Yeah, there's a different connection. Though Mamoru brings out a more mature, stronger side of Usagi that I like. He does support her a lot. Seiya brings out the natural fun loving side of Usagi too. Put them together and maybe they're the perfect guy! Haha.

Hmm. A mix of Mamoru and Seiya... Interesting

I read a interview with Naoko, and the subject of Seiya came up. Apparently, Seiya was supposed to be mixed of Mamoru and Haruka. =)

I personally have always loved Usagi and Seiya, although I do not ship them as a couple. I believe that Usagi's ultimate love with always be Mamoru and visa versa -- but this for me mainly stems from the manga, as I think their love in the manga is unrefutable.

In the anime, I think Usagi and Seiya have a beautiful friendship. All through the anime, Usagi's friends are always teasing her or putting her down in same way. Seiya never does this -- he accepts Usagi for who she is -- ditzy, crazy eater, cry baby and all. I appreciated Seiya very much for this and I think in the Stars, Usagi and Seiya have a wonderful friendship. They fit each other so well and it is absolutely adorable and beautiful. Seiya's love for Usagi is so pure and so sincere.

I know some people get very heated about Usagi/Seiya shippers but I do not mind them at all. I think that Seiya and Usagi have a beautiful connection with one another and I rather feel bad that Usagi does not choose Seiya in the end. :\

I'm one of those Seiya X Usagi fans that also loves Mamoru X Usagi equally so I have no problems when someone get's offended about the Seiya X Usagi ship. I can see both sides.

Cosmic, that's really interesting that Seiya is a version of Haruka/Mamoru but I can totally see it. I wonder why she did that though?

To Halfpixieman: NT probably made Seiya a copy of Haruka and Mamoru to highlight the best qualities of both of them. Both Mamoru and Haruka are fiercely protective of Usagi. Seiya has that trait. They all visibly resemble one another. With Haruka though, she is a strong, confident and devoted woman. NT most likely wanted to capture those qualities for another female character. Also i do believe Haruka expressed romantic feelings for Usagi in both the anime and the manga. I forget the chapter and episodes though, but it never went past an infatuation and a couple of kisses since Mamoru was around. Also both Seiya and Haruka are leaders of their respective teams of senshi. Both extremely dedicated to their missions. Although (anime) Seiya was distracted by his infatuation Usagi, and (anime) Haruka was a mean to Usagi when she interfered with the Heart Stone Crystal search.

I have learned to appreciate the shipping of Seiya and Usagi, but only as woman and woman. Love shouldn't have to be adjusted to fit gender roles of society. Also there's an honesty factor. Usagi/Serenity loves all. It would be best if she could be shown loving people as they are.

I ship Seiya as a man and/or woman with Usagi. It really doesn't bother me which way I think of it. I just like the idea of Seiya as a person with Usagi. It doesn't matter what gender Seiya is, they just match well together personality wise.

Don't worry Mamoru, I still love you too!

There are moments when I ship Usagi/Seiya, especially since I'm rewatching Stars at the moment. I definitely feel that Seiya is a much better fit than Mamoru at times; Seiya is more fun and playful, respectful of Usagi, and she/he cares so much for her. That's not to say Mamoru doesn't care just as deeply for Usagi or respect her (also doesn't mean I dislike Mamoru or him with her), I just feel like the chemistry between Usagi and Seiya is right. And it's apparent that Usagi has some kind of strong feelings toward Seiya in return, otherwise she wouldn't have been as bummed out as she was when the outer senshi and the starlights were forbidding her from talking to Seiya, etc. It's really cute. As much as I didn't want to, I ended up shipping them ^^ it's just so sweet. Seiya is so sweet to Usagi. She/he really tries for Usagi to make her happy and feel better when she's sad about Mamoru and everything else. <3

Even though I like Mamoru and Usagi together the most, I still like Seiya and Usagi as friends. It was a really cute friendship that they were forming. I think they had a good connection, and I would have loved to see how their friendship would have grown. I think he, in the anime, was like the goofy older brother that Usagi was meant to have, since she only has Shingo, who isn't that goofy around Usagi at all. haha

I would have loved to see Seiya and Usagi develop their friendship more! I truly believe that they are the best of friends and are perfect for one another - not romantically but in a friendship sort of way. They fit each other like mirror images, what with their fantastic banter and crazy antics and how they play off of each so easily.

And because I am a glutton for angst, I really would have liked to see Seiya and Usagi with each other while Mamoru was around. I imagine that he wouldn't say anything right away but that his jealousy would quietly fester for some time before he would finally confront the situation.

But yes, I love Usagi and Seiya together. They are probably one of my favorite aspects about the Stars anime.

Heck, my most-favorite episode in the entirety of Stars is 'Night Between Us! Usagi's Pinch' and it's partly because of those two. I agree that it's a shame that they didn't expand more on their friendship.

I think that the anime does a good job showing how Seiya and Usagi could be great friends, rather than a major couple. Thats how I always saw it! And i'm so glad you mentioned Kakyuu! I love her and Seiya together. Favorite ship of Stars

OMG SAME HERE. I never even see anyone speak of them together! I mean Usagi reminded Seiya of Kakyuu! That's why Seiya and Usagi got closer!

He was impressed from the very beginning. With this look, Seiya could saw it under the facade of clumsiness, laziness, slow-wittedness, childishness and an always and eating Usagi. It’s a kind of light you can only found once in your lifetime. Then when you found it you have to appreciate it. Often it seemed that her friends and Mamoru don’t believe that she could improve herself. But he’d never doubted her abilities for one second. He, Seiya Kou, the super idol and dream of every girl, wanted to train Usagi Tsukino (where actually everyone would say she’s a hopeless case in every sort of sport) for the Baseball match. Only to stay together with her. He wasn’t ashamed of the blonde and what others (and possibly the press also) would think about them. With their long training they won the match. In the world you need mentors who believe in you to move on. She could develop on his side and learn to be independent not to rely on others doing everything for her. Besides Seiya treated her as a woman not as a kid and would give his life to protect her. Even when it means to reveal his secret to Usagi. He also knew that she have a boyfriend and accepted it, not to have her for his own.



He gave her his heart without expecting anything in return. In my mind, you can call that unconditional love.

I don't know what was, but when I first go into Sailor Moon, I was on the MamoruxUsagi train, and then I read the stars and I was like

.O. THIS GUY..GIRL..WHATEVER... IS LIKE 10,000x BETTER THAN MAMORU
(I love you Mamoru, but there was something about Seiya)

...and I was hooked. I mean, story wise, I understand MamxUsa (ChibiUsa, mostly).

I read a really interesting fanfic, where like, Usagi and Mamoru stayed together until ChibiUsa was old enough to take over the kingdom, and then they split ways,and I'm like "logical soulution to this!" XD Course, who knows how long that would take. omg...

But it was like, Usa and Mamoru has this understanding, or whatever, and yeah. |D

It's interesting that most you guys refer to Seiya as a guy. Would you still ship them as two girls? Just curious, I consider Seiya a girl, but she disguises as a man. Kinda like if Haruka never admitted to be a girl, the scouts would still think she was a guy.
