I'm kind of surprised Ami's previous VA isn't returning.... I don't think I've heard of Rei or Minako's VAs.... and Makoto's VA voiced both my least favorite Precure ever and one of my favorite SDR2 characters.

It's  obv a shame the original VAs all couldn't come back, it'll be kind of strange to have Usagi's voice and no one else tbh. But I'll withhold judgement just now! <3

KOTONO MITSUISHI THOUGH

All of the VAs for the main cast have done a lot of voice acting in the past, so they definitely know what they're doing. A few interesting and fun(nny) things I noticed while looking through their info on ANN.

Hisako Kanemoto: had the role of Amy in Suisei no Gargantia, and voiced Grunhilde Serenity in Bodacious Space Pirates. Nice coincidence there.

Rina Satou: was the VA for Misaka, the spirited female protagonist from A Certain Scientific Railgun.

Ami Koshimizu: Coincidental first name aside, she also voiced Ryouko Matoi from Kill La Kill. Having just watched that show, I think this is a great choice, because characters voiced by her can really kick chibi.

Shizuka Itou: A versatile actress who's voiced Koko Hekmatyr from Jormungand (which actually made me lol a little, because Koko is, for lack of a better word, a crazy character, but in a good way IMO), to Wilhelmina from Shakugan no Shana, and Boota from Gurren Lagann. Given how Minako has a wide range of expressions and moods, I think we're in good hands.

So excited that Kotono Mitsushi will be back--SO EXCITED.

Since I don't know any of these va's besides Kotono, I don't have much opinion other than YAY KOTONO!

Does anybody know if any of the other original seiyu were approached to reprise their roles, or at least given a chance to audition?

I mean, I guess the producers (or Naoko-sama) had to approve the new ones, and hired the best available.

The romantic in me feels like maybe 3 of the 4 Inners would have done it, but 1 couldn't so the rest decided as a group not to do it then.

I don't think anyone knows if the others were contacted previously but I do remember people saying one of the original VA's was retired I believe.

As far as the new VAs, I do know that Kotono herself was apart of the audition process.

Oh god, I think Beryl is going to be voiced by the woman who did Northa in Fresh precure! She was a real cold blooded killer, a cruel woman, the kind who could kill you slowly while serving you some tea. Couldn't imagine better for Beryl!

I'm excited to have more announcements for voice actors and actresses~ I don't watch enough anime to recognize any of them, but I am still excited!
