So with the new anime coming out, do you think they will have modern tech that was absent when both the manga and the original anime were produced such as: cell phones, tablet computers, etc.

There's possibility since in PGSM they updated the technology too. The girls had cell phones for communication.

Maybe they'll have the fancy smart watches. o.0 (lol, that's pretty much what the communicators were to begin with) But, yeah, cell phones are a must.

Ami's introduction episode probably will use Discs instead of floppy disks. XD Kids these days wouldn't know what a floppy disk is!

I really need Usagi to be horrid with the new Tech. I dunno why I just do.

I can see Usagi with a 3DS and an iPhone with a cracked screen and/or duct tape holding it together cus of her clumsiness, LOL.

I think it's kind of inevitable that there will be new tech. The girls in all previous versions have had really cool, modern technology for their times.

Ami needs to be a tech nerd! I want her to be amazing with computers and gadgets. 
And, like Radicaledward said, Usagi should be really tech-challenged.

I think she would be up-to-date with technology and even be somewhat efficient at using it....as long as it's an iphone or a 3ds but tell her to use software like Microsoft excel or something and her brain would explode.

I can see Usagi and Minako being total social media nuts, especially with Twitter. I think Usagi would understand the technology that matters to her, like the Internet, social media, and video games.

Thinking about this actually makes me feel old, because I still use a desktop computer with a floppy drive albeit the floppy drive is disconnected b/c 1) it's useless and 2) it makes a terrible whirling sound.   

Usagi makes me think of a friend who once dropped his cellphone into a body of water, had someone take it apart, dried it out, and miraculously the thing still worked afterward. She's into Instagram and loves to take pictures of her food before she eats it.   

Ami would definitely be the one to have the latest in gadgets, in addition to writing and publishing her own apps.

Rei and Makoto I can see as being technologically proficient but aren't super into tech trends, though Rei, unlike the other girls, would probably not be into social media ("I don't need to know Usagi ate a whole carton of ice cream, two meat buns, and two bottles of Calpico last night") and would only grudgingly text.

Minako on the other hand, would be very social media savvy ("An idol has to know how to engage her fans!"). Name a social media platform and she'll have at least one account on each. I think it would also be hilarious if, as Sailor V, she did a Sailor V twitter feed so her fans can follow her crime fighting action.

I think Rei would secretly look up what the other girls were posting on social media and then one day let it slip accidentally by mentioning something that you could only know if you were on social media. Usagi would probably be the one to call her out on it too.   One of my friends who doesn't use social media did that!

But generally, since it's just a re-animation of the series (like FMA vs FMA:B), that they shouldn't make it TOO modern.

Sailor Moon takes place in a certain time, even through reading the re-released manga. Plus they have their watches, they don't need cellphones and such.

I think overall, Sailor Moon will be updated to reflect current technology. I don't think the story is locked in the 90s.

Well, it would be kind of weird if it didn't happen in the nineties, though. I'm not saying that out of nostalgia, but because it seems logical to me. Endymion said Usagi became Neo Queen Serenity when she was 22. Considering she was 14 in 1992, that would mean she became Queen in 2000. It's pretty symbolic to have the new millenium start with the new Silver Millenium.

Then again, I agree that for the whole crystal seminar thing, CDs would probably fit better. And I would love to see the girls having smartphones like in La Reconquista! Plus, i really can't picture Ami using her big laptop from Act 3 of the manga.

If we get the Infinity arc, I'm curious as to how they are going to show this with Mugen Academy, and Viluy!
(Hey, wait, 26 episodes? That's the exact number of acts for both first arcs... That leaves no room for Casablanca Memory or Chibiusa's Picture Diary ;_; )
