RAITOH

About Raitoh

Raitoh is the region that exists just beyond Mount Moon, north of Kanto and south of Sinnoh, beyond the extent of the Pal Park and Sinnoh Route 221.

The waters off the east coast of Raitoh are extremely dangerous, prohibiting the people living in the area from using sea travel to reach other regions. Steep mountains (and ravines) to the east, north, and south close it in on other sides. As a result, technology has developed differently here. Raitoh has not developed air travel, ruling that out as an option. Pokéballs do not exist here, nor do Pokémon Professors with "starter Pokémon". Healing does not happen in "Pokémon Centers", but instead from trained Pokémon Medics using herbal concotions and mysterious healing stones. Trainers in Raitoh hatch their Pokémon from eggs and walk alongside them while exploring the region.

Discovery of the Region

Professor Maple, during her studies on Fossils within Mt. Moon, discovered a passage in the lowest level that led outside—to an uncharted area! Among the debris cleared away from that passage, she spotted a fragment of a strange item. Professor Maple believes that this might be something unique from known evolutionary stones, Mega Stones, or Z-Crystals. Professor Maple wants to know more about the region that lies beyond Mount Moon, but cannot currently step away from her duties as a Pokémon Professor and breeder to explore that area.

When she discussed her findings with her mentor, Professor Oak, he suggested that she recruit fledgling Pokémon Trainers to explore the area for her, mapping out the new region and documenting their encounters with native Pokémon. This is exactly what Professor Maple decided to do—meeting Ember, Tamber, Wally, Mary, Alexa, Trainer Charmander, and Black during [RTRP] PokéBeginnings!

Unique and Strange Eggs

Less than a year ago, a boat traveling between Sinnoh and Kanto encountered terrible weather and capsized. A wealthy Pokémon hobbyist traveling aboard was shipwrecked on a mysterious island. He collected a variety of strange Pokémon eggs, built himself a raft, and somehow made it back to the Kanto area. He initially tried to hatch the eggs, but found that he simply could not convince them to do so. He began to suspect that there something very different about these mysterious eggs. When he heard rumors of Professor Maple's discovery within Mt. Moon, he provided the eggs to her, wondering if her research could finally hatch them.

The Dirty Dealings of Team Lambda

Team Lambda (Team λ) are a group of ne'er-do-wells that have also heard of Professor Maple's discovery. They want to steal the eggs and any new stones from the previously-unknown Raito region, hoping to sell them at high prices to collectors all over the world!

Professor Maple has asked all Pokémon Trainers ready to start on their new journey to meet at her lab. She has some equipment and information to give them they set off on a passage through Mt. Moon to new territory!

I tried to fix some typos with a quick spell check, but I know it didn't get everything. I didn't want to delay or modify too much with a full proof-reading. ♥

It's okay, I understand. That post was more or less me teasing myself, since I'm normally so keen on catching typos as they happen. This rp was just so much fun I didn't pay as much attention

I found an RPG Map Editor and I am a terrible ridiculous person who had to have a map so I made one.

Yes, that's fine! Just remember that other characters might react to it, and they might be upset or shocked.

Do we just pick up where we left off, or are all the trainers back in the lab after a certain amount of time between the events of the livechat RP?

What does everyone prefer? I think we could easily work it both ways.

My goals:

• Professor Maple explains her discovery in Mt. Moon
  
• Trainers receive Pokédexes and other equipment from the Professor
  
• Trainers get a few days (encouraged to get to know each other, shop in the town, see their families, etc.) before meeting Professor Maple at Mt. Moon
  
• Meet at Mt. Moon, then move forward into Raitoh

Also, which kind of pokemon are available in the Raitoh region, and is it okay if I had Tamber catch a single pokemon within the time between this RP and the rp livechat? Spoiler: if allowed, it's totes a mimikyuu

She could get a broadcast/text message/etc. from the lab, asking her to come back for some important information.

The Pokémon in Raitoh will be a mix of Kanto, Johto, and Sinnoh. Maybe there will be special events with Pokémon from other regions if people have specific requests.

Could you have her catch her new Pokémon (or maybe receive it via Link Trade from someone in Alola?) in the RP timeline just after the trainers are finished being informed of their upcoming task? She'll have plenty of time to add to her team after she gets some items from Professor Maple, but before they all go to Mt. Moon.

It's fine! I'm trying to give people time to come in. (: If someone can't post before Professor Maple starts talking, they can always state that they were already in the lab, just waiting to hear the info.

XD, does it make sense that Ember caught an Evee?

Eevee exist in Kanto, so yes, that sounds fine to me.
