I adamantly agree. It would be a poor choice to do that. The story was amazing and it ended wonderful, don't mess it up =(

I think quality and a great story is what has made Final Fantasy such an amazing series to play. They don't pump out a game every year and the details are simply awesome, granted I have only plays a few games, but they all seem to be so intricate, that it would annoy me to no end to see them ruin their reputation with it.

I don't think so. I don't think there'd be enough fan response. I think X-2 was too much and unnecessary as it was.

Square Enix hasn't been doing so hot and I think, before they toss around something so...not in demand, they won't do it (unless they are desperate). Because they already have 2 huge actually in demand projects:

Kingdom Hearts 3
Final Fantasy XV

And the demanded remake of FFVII.

Soooo...I doubt it. Unless of course they want to tank themselves. Cause they just might. They seem to not really be listening to fans these days so *shrug*

I don't think a third installment of Final Fantasy X would be a good idea...however a cameo or maybe an unlockable character or DLC like Tidus, Yuna, or Rikku in a new game wouldn't be so bad...

  A FREAKING BREAK-UP LOVE-TRIANGLE INSECURE-IN-THEIR-RELATIONSHIP BULLSHIT STORY?!

... AND IF THIS SOMEHOW ENDS UP WITH THEIR SHIP SINKING RATHER THAN SUFFERING A FEW DINGS IN THE HULL ONLY TO BE FIXED AND REINFORCED AND TRANSFORMING INTO A GOLD-PLATED CRUISELINER/BATTLESHIP TO END ALL CRUISELINER/BATTLESHIPS THERE WILL BE BLOOD. 


I don't want it to happen, but if it does, I will stubbornly refuse to believe that they'll let anything bad happen. It's SquarEnix, and while some questionable things have happened ((Lighting's boobs going up a size just for the perverted hell of it, for instance)), I trust that they won't mess this up. And pray to all the Fayths out there that they don't make it a multiple-ending-based-on-mini-game-completion b.s. thing, because I really hated having to replay the game in the hope I somehow found that extra 3%. ((I ended up giving up and just watching the perfect ending online. the non perfect endings were absolutely unfulfilling.))

I still haven't completed X-2, It got too complicated and frustrating because the guide didn't help you throughout the game, instead you had to switch back and forth from the first half to the second half with all the side games and that is how you got 100%, it was just beyond frustrating.

I mean with as much trouble as the game and the programmers took to bring Tidus back, it doesn't make sense to have a romantic love triangle. It was hard to get a perfect ending in X2 and then to go and see them all happy and living happy ever after, to screw it up by adding someone else and bringing sin back? HUH?!

In addition to the audio drama there's also a 200+ novel being published meant to lead to the audio drama they want to release after the X/X-2 HD release. Whether it sees the light of day is irrelevant, there's actual push for a sequel to be made (new concept art) and a desire from the developers to make it into reality. It is at a 'definite maybe' according to the news site I'm following. I think their hope is for demand of a sequel to be made in the aftermath of the X HD release. Square isn't exactly known for using their brains.

Furthermore it has come to my attention that the games worlds have been linked for whatever stupid reason and that the Shinra in X-2 could very well lead to the Shinra of Final Fantasy VII and that if they wanted to, they could lead to the birth of Jenova through X-3 and a remake of Final Fantasy VII.

With more thought, Mars is probably right. Especially considering how much outrage has already sparked over this anyway.
