WELCOME TO THE HUNGER GAMES AFTER PARTY!! In a bit I'll corner Ayu and make her do Akiko's final interview with Caesar ((I'll update this post with it for fun times)); until then I would really love to hear your thoughts about the GCRP Game Event:The Hunger Games! What did you like? What didn't you like? What do you think needs fixing?

I'm already planning the next one (wheee!) but I won't be able to get it going until I've been in school for a week, so let's make the next game even better than this one!

Okay! So, let's talk about....

Tributes, did you find any kinks in the game on your end? What did you like? What didn't you like and would want me to change in the future?

Well I didn't like dying, yeah not so fond of that. >.>

BUT since that isn't likely to change, haha, I had a great time. I loved it. I just hope I didn't bug you too much with my need for details because looking back I can see where I could have been a pain with it. I thought the way it was set up, with the dice rolls was very fair and partial. I loved that.

I think that the only suggestion I have as far as game play goes for tributes is that if one is ambushed, maybe there could be an escape roll. Like if they have enough energy to run, then they have to roll higher than a certain number to escape. It was something I got to thinking about last night and if you are ambushed there's always a chance you can escape.

I also think it would make things interesting if a tribute who is ambushed does escape, because then the tribute who did the ambushing has to decide if they are going to follow. That makes us think about energy and stuff.

More details on our inventory.

Ex: Matches, Iodine use, medicine use, how much thirst points do we get from water bottle size, ration hunger points size, and how much space in the bag or bags we might carry.

I know with me at least we had that established a bit, but some of the things I wasn't as clear on on just how much could one tribute carry.

In the end the money was never raised to buy Akiko antidote when she was unable to get antidote from the feast, but I disagreed with adding a feast item to the purchase list. I think the feast should be special and significant, and if a tribute has the opportunity to sit the feast out and hope a sponsor has money to spend, that's against the goal of a feast. It seems to me that a feast is the Game Makers' attempt to force tributes to come together and fight if they're keeping too far from each other, so it needs to be weighty.

I also think we should have a few more Game Maker events that force tributes together. We know that the Game Makers will do anything to force action.

However, this does beg the question of what a tribute should be able to do if poisoned. If they die in two days, and there's no curative on the sponsors' purchase list, should there be some other item that could help them string along for a little bit longer? Maybe some kind of "remedy" that moderately helps the symptoms, allowing out a few more days but not healing totally?

Also, the Cornucopia rush is really important. As someone who missed out, that drove me crazy! Maybe I missed the date/time this time round, but for the next game could the Cornucopia rush date/time be really really really obvious?

I found that my tribute exhausted energy really quickly. Maybe that stat was a little bit unbalanced?

I think the prices for things the sponsors can buy should be more expensive, too.

I agree with the Cornucopia rush. That is one of the huge parts of the games since it's the first bloodbath of the whole game. Also Aurae could have been injured during the bloodbath like Cere and Nao were. That would have changed game play for anyone.

I also agree about the energy stat. Towards the end of it all, I was having Akiko shove caffeine pills down her throat left and right. Since we're holding off on the interview until I get back fro dinner, we'll just say this is part of the side effects for all the caffeine pills she took in. She crashed after the energy rush xD

If caffeine pills hadn't been such a hot commodity sent in by sponsors, it would have been really awkward. >_>

yea I know Nao's energy would run low pretty fat but I know that was because of how badly injured she was. but yea I enjoyed the game and like was said before not a big fan of dieing but that won't be changeing so yea I enjoyed the game for as long as I got to be in it. though some of the champions I felt should have been a bit more active in the thread.

Not to be hating or anything, im just being honest with my opinion, but I feel the lack of activity on the part of the sponsors really hurt the flow of the game. I think that the sponsors didnt even realize really how important their role was. they were so important that even a couple of them ignoring the game had a huge impact.

Okay! So just with tribute stuff, I need to tweak:

1. List Date and Time of Cornucopia Rush
   
2. State "Run Away!" option ((Lmao I was wondering why no one chose to book it when confronted XD))
   
3. Create Cheat-Sheet for Items (number, effects, etc). ((I have one for myself; I'll just pretty it up and make it available in the Gaming Center before the next game))
   
4. Examine Energy Usage
   ---Lol; I was actually considering lowering energy requirements; I got all miffed when night came and people were left in the green with energy. I had it so every zone change was -4 energy points; every special action/ability was -1 (including climbing up/down trees, setting a fire, etc); every fight action was -1. If you weren't moving and everyone else was, I'd randomly -1 all your stats because, hey, sitting around also makes people hungry, thirsty, and tired. Fighting had -1 for every major battle point (throwing a punch/kick/swinging sword, etc).
   ---I'll mess with these a little starting next game and see if it's more satisfactory with everyone.
   
5. More Game Maker Antics (>D wheee)
   
6. One Player: Two Tributes possibility
   
7. Rule: Tributes are not allowed to talk to their champion OOC about their needs; needs/wishes/etc. are to be expressed via RPing only.
   

Feel free to keep throwing tribute suggestions my way! But since it was mentioned, now let's talk about the Purchase List. Champions, Sponsors, and tributes, what do you think about the items on the list?

1. Prices too low on items
   
2. Certain items need to be Feast-Only, period.
   
3. Need to stress importance of Sponsor Roles
   ---Sponsors can initiate giving; don't always need to be wooed.
   
4. Separate OOC thread from IC thread (^__^ Implementation already planned! ♥)
   
5. Reexamine Purchase List
   ---Body Armor separates
   ---Antidote
   ---Fishing equipment ((though, to be fair, a ton of packs had hooks and string in them))
   
6. Price Purcase List based on number of sponsors in game
   
7. Nix Champion/Sponsor role ((Champion/Tribute role A.O.K.!))
   
8. Roles cannot be created; they can only be refilled if someone goes inactive and a tribute dies.
   

Maybe next time HG is played, there can be a RP board and an OOC board. I think that will help with lack of sponsor activity. The Champion and Sponsor roles, while very important, aren't as time consuming as the Tribute roles. In all honestly, I believe a Sponsor/Champion could spend 10-20 minutes a day reading up on what happens and be caught up and participate. But at the end of a busy work day, coming home to find that the page count has soared and most of that is OOC I can see where a Sponsor wouldn't want to bother reading through, even if they ignore the OOC chatter. Its just intimidating.

Also, Sponsors should know its okay to approach a Champion first, not just wait for the Champion to come to them. Especially if its for a tribute they really like and want to help. The whole Champion/Sponsor relationship shouldn't just rely on a Champion approaching a Sponsor. Additionally, if a Sponsor gives to a Champion first, without waiting to be contacted by that Champion, that also speeds up the game play for Sponsors and Champions.

I feel we needed some antidote/cure type thing for poison. That would have been standard anyways. Maybe a snake bite kit too. (You never know!)

also a fishing pole/fishing hooks weren't on the list. 

And there should be no such champion/sponsor role ever again. It's not quite fair. 

I disagree with raising prices. The only person buying anything really was me. I think the prices would have been quite fair if I hadn't been a sponsor as well. 

Seperate body armor parts should be sale. 

Um... yeah don't raise the prices if there isn't going to be active sponsors. It's hard enough as it is to get money from people.

Speaking of which, I really disliked that people were allowed to jump in at anytime as sponsors/champions etc. It made it unbalanced. I can understand replacing People's champions who were not active/there with an old tribute, but to just add in sponsors and champions for the hell of it? Frustrating and annoying.

It was exactly what I was going to say. Most of the time I found myself not wanting to go through all that OOC. But I won't use it as a excuse to my lack of activity either, it was my fault as well.
So I think 2 different boards would be ideal ^^

Hmm.. tributes, what do you think about implementing face claims in the Event? ((Where you pick a picture to use for your tribute))? Also What did you think about tweaking your screen name to name your tribute? I liked it because it kept things really simple in my mind. Who plays Aurae? ... well, Aurae does. XD ...but I can see that next game I can't use the same simple shortcuts I did this time. What do you guys think I should do about names next time that will keep identification between player and tribute/champion/sponsor easy?

I liked it, it made it easier. I didn't wonder who was who. I had wished when Light had joined as a champion that he would've used his screen name.  hopefully you'll do it that way again.

Hm, I like the idea of face claims. Something visual to help the Champions and Sponsors in identifying who is who. I think the only time physical appearance came into place was during the interview and possibly little moments during the RP. I don't know about anyone else, but I had a whole physical appearance for my tribute built in my head.

As for names, well I could see a couple ways it could be done. Nicknames maybe that the people playing the tributes have. Or you could make up a list of names and randomly assign them to each tribute player. Or just let the player pick their name.

I'm thinking reusing the same names would be cool as far as champions/sponsors go - it keeps a continuity - but next game, if Aurae plays ((sorry I'm picking on your name XD)) I don't know about 24th Hunger Games Aurae should be Aurae, you know? It'd be confusing for poor Tenka. XD

But we could tweak names, maybe use avatars as the connection? Or maybe we could be dorks (HAAAAAA) and make little bumpers when the event starts for the tributes to have in their signature.

Like say I'm a tribute and my username "Kyralih" died in the 23rd hunger games; for the 24th, I'd choose a faceclaim (?) (or clip my avatar down to size) and make a bumper saying something like "Support Spazzles!" to remind everyone that my player is Spazzles.

Thoughts? Other suggestions?
