| So my mom was watching it the other day and it was pretty interesting,. BUT i'm still confused why do they need to do the games?  i know there are people on here who likes the series, so i hope they know the answers |

| not really, i didn't see the very beginning, but i know they had districts and where the "game" took place was the capitol, that was about it... |

| The hunger games are an annual "celebration" of sorts put on by the capitol for the anniversary of the past rebellion [attempt]. They treat it as entertainment and honor but in reality it's to remind the districts of their place, to prevent any more uprisings. |
