Okay so I didn't see a thread for this and thought I should make one.

The Hunger Games is right now one of my favorite series because of how addicting the books are. I've only read the first one so far, but plan on reading the rest when I have spring break. What does everyone think about the Hunger Games?

I love love LOVE the Hunger Games. Its one of the few series I've gotten so into I've actually read fanfiction of. I'm not a huge fanfic reader. But I love the characters so much, I just wanted more. This is definitely one of my favorite series of all time. My favorite character's Johanna, so I kinda try to read anything I can about her XD Especially her and Katniss

I'm so excited for the movie I get bouncy every time I see the commerical X3

My friends and I have decided to go see it at midnight.

I read a preview. I also read an article on the creation of the movie and I was pleased to see that (it appears) they took the time to actually teach the main character how to use a bow.

Oh god. I read these earlier this week and all I can say is

That's a really good choice to make as a director. It's really hard to pretend to know how to use a bow and arrow correctly.

I flipped through the People magazine Hunger Games special while I was at the supermarket and omg... I am SO in love with Effie's look. I almost squeed in the store XD

okay so everywhere I go I see people reading the Hunger Games or I hear people talking about it on tumblr. Is it really any good?

Oh Yami I've heard that a lot...everybody going nuts for the Hunger Games. But I have a question, is it the same thing that happened with Twilight?

It looks better than Twilight! I have never read it, but seeing quotes from the movie on tumblr it looks way better.

It's not that hard being better that Twilight actually, but I'm afraid the crazy fandom (not the real fans, I talking about the teenage girls who sees the movies just because the guy is hot -is it? I don't know who he is-) could ruin the whole idea of the books.

Oooh. I thought you were talking about the written quality of the books. I wouldn't know that seeing how I don't know the characters. :/ I've only seen pictures of the book covers and the girl characters on tumblr.

Oh, I refered to the book quality too, I mixed the movies too because my ADHD is hitting hard on me today

dear God! The Hunger Games are everywhere! I'm starting to get pissed off of them before reading the books...

Awe. The books are so much better than the movie. The movie left out parts of the story that made the characters relationships stronger. So the characters didn't show much of their connections and it bothered me. There was less impact than there could have been.

Are the books good? Like tell me it's worth a read, about the plot, ect.

The books are definitely worth reading. The beginning of the book may be a bit boring, but after you get through that, you will love it!

So what about the plot?

Okay so the plot of the story is a bit complicated because there are multiple parts to it. Most of the plot of the first book has to do with trying to survive the Hunger Games and giving us the background of Panem and what the capital is doing. Also it's about rebelling against the capital.

I see hmm. Not sure if I still want to read this.

Just try it out. There's not hurt in trying is there? Maybe borrow it from someone if they have it.

This is true. One of my coworkers is reading it. Maybe I'll ask him.
