What do you think Usagi might do for a living after high school but before becoming queen?

Well, to be truthful she wasn't the smartest of girls was she? So I wouldn't imagine anything to fancy. Possibly something along the lines of supermarket attendant. Or just a regular shop job. That is my personal opinion at the moment. She may've knuckled down and managed college but we don't have that to go on. So we have to go by what we have seen.

i think she would work with kids. i mean, she wasn't stupid, only thing was she didn't like studying. however, with mamoru next to her, she started having incentive to study. i can totally see her as a kindergarten teacher.

Well, I suppose that would make sense since she did work with kids a few times in the anime. Plus having to handle Chibiusa. She could've worked under the employment of Makoto? I think that I remember an episode with Makoto being great with kids and thinking of opening up her own nursery. Or am I wrong?

makoto's dream was to work with food or flowers. i personally believe she would be a kick-butt wedding planner and that would have her working with everything she loves.

I know that she dreamt of working with food or flowers but I think that in one of the episodes it states that she wouldn't mind opening up her own nursery either. And if she were a wedding planner, I can just imagine the weddings. They'd be stunning.

If this is going to be a job in-between high school and marriage, I think Usagi would make a really cute 90s "office lady," one of those female Japanese office workers who served tea and did clerical or secretarial work. It's not prominent anymore, which is great because it's a sexist and demeaning position in all honesty, but I think that it would have been cute to have Usagi working either at the same office that her father or Mamoru is working at while she waits until they get married.

In terms of an actual career, I think that--if she could manage the schooling--she'd make a great therapist. Everyone already loves being around Usagi. I think she could help a lot of people. It would be very stressful for her, but I think she'd find it rewarding.

^I'd also say therapist would be a very fitting job for her. If there's one thing Usagi seems to excel at, it's emotionally connecting to people, and getting them to connect to her. And I think that sort of quality would really benefit the process of therapy.

In Bill K's Sailor Moon fanfic series Usagi worked as a mangaka before becoming queen. Personally I don't think we've ever seen Usagi demonstrate any artistic skills, but she does like to read manga, and as an expy for Naoko Takeuchi it makes some sense.

What job would have the most flexible hours? Can you imagine it?

In Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy had a job at a fast food place for a while, while still being able to carry out her slayer duties... It's a shame that super heroes jobs don't pay well.

Usagi didn't seem to have any real career plans from what I could tell. Her long term plans were pretty much get married and have kids.

That said, and because I'm evil, I think she should be a chef >: }

Imagining her as a therapist though is intriguing.

Initially yes - but IMO she would tend to get too emotionally involved with her cases, which would wear her down. I think that school counsellor or kindergarten/elementary school teacher would be right. She could finish much easier junior college for this.

I would pin Usagi as a Daycare worker or a teacher.  She's actually really good with kids.

A nursery is a garden type shop where you can by flowers and plants for your front and back yards. At least that's what they are called here in America. Then again I guess you could call a child care service a nursery if it's taking care small children seeing how at home the baby's room is called nursery. 


Usagi would totally take care of children! I can also picture her as a food critic seeing how she loves to eat food! XD

I was gonna say teacher as well Usagi is smart, but not in the same sense as the other girls. Kind of like the Einstein quote, ""Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." She's very intelligent on certain levels that other people aren't, but she lacks intelligence in academic areas that society judges us on. I think Usagi is extremely intelligent when it comes to people and is very energetic at the same time which is what makes me think she would be a great teacher. She has that sense of innocence about her where she strongly believes in things that we try to instill in children today, such as loving one another and that a person can do anything they set their mind to. Also, it takes a VERY special person to have enough love and patience to deal with children and I think she could do it because of her love for others

I don't think she'd make a good therapist, because therapists are usually very calm, selfless people. Usagi is pretty selfless as far as giving up her life for others, but a therapist must be selfless in the sense that it's not about what she has to say, but about the other person. I just can't see Usa listening to someone talking about like their husband or something without being like "MAMO-CHANNNNNNNN!!!!!!" hehehe :)But she WOULD be good at kind of understanding a person's underlying feelings behind what they're actually saying.

I can imagine her as a social worker. She has such a big heart, she would pour everything in every single one of her cases and help everyone the best she can. Probably she'd get frustrated with bureaucracy or procedures that say she can't do more, though, and might often take things into her own hands.

I could also see her as a nurse. Of course, studying medicine seems like something unthinkable for her, but when it comes to the practice, I think she's best at taking care of other people. She'd lift everyone's spirits no matter how bad their illness are and just tell them they'd get better no matter what (although then she'd probably cry forever every time she loses anyone).

Yeah, I got sort of used to Bill K.'s interpretation of Usagi as a manga artist, but I can definitely imagine her as many of the suggestions provided here.

I think she would have gone to college. Her grades did become better at the end and Mamoru went to college, too, so she would have given her best to make Mamoru proud. And I think the others would have been on her case, nobody wants to have a ruler who didn't even go to college after all. I'm not sure what courses one would take in preparation for ruling the world in the future though. Languages, history, politics and economics would be definetely useful.

Well we did see her model for yumemi yumeno. She could have been a model since Usagi is very pretty. I definitely do not mean the model that walks down catwalks. Perhaps a model for a magazine or an art piece.

I think Usagi would make a good bus or taxi driver. It doesn't require a massive amount of studying and she gets to make friends with and talk to a bunch of new people every day. And I doubt she'd worry about her salary if she's going to be queen later anyway.

Haha same here. If she were to o get a job, it'd be at some fast food joint, where she woulda gotten fired for eating too much 

I think a lot of the jobs mentioned would be suitable for Usagi, but I like the idea of her being a kindergarten teacher. I also think that since she knows she's going to be the Queen, that after Stars she would work towards being the best Queen she could be. So, despite her dislike for studying, I think she would do whatever it took to make herself the best Queen she could.

Considering Usagi is based on Naoko herself, I agree with the mangaka suggestion since she always loved reading manga.

But isn't Usagi a horrible drawer?... Anyway, I like the idea of her being a nurse since she does specialize in healing.

I feel like she might get too squeamish to be a nurse (not canon or anything, just how I see her). If not working with small children, I could see her as a waitress. She might not go out looking for a huge career job as she knows shes going to have to be queen eventually. The others want careers to do with their dreams, where as Usagi just wants to be a good wife (eventually mother?). In terms of education though I could see maybe Mamoru and the other senshi all tutoring her in subjects that relate to ruling as a queen.
