You can make something like this [Tutorial] Making Gif using Gimp Beginners (Picture HEAVY) Litusagieat    Using Gimp. if there is too much of a gap between the images for this it will look off.  I'm using 2.8.6 version. older versions will be different. and it is a bit easier.

so you can do two kinds. like the one above, or one with just images!

1st open all the images you want to use

Then make them all the SAME SIZE!!! This is important... so do it.

next export it. saving it makes it a Gimp files and we don't want that.

now close the images and leave out or open the one you want to START with AND next open the rest under open as layer.

Once you are done, adding all the frames. Click on Images, Mode, and choose indexed.

Click convert. if you haven't messed with this before it will be set in the right mode.

Click Filter, Animation, optimize for Gif

now it will open the frames in a new window and now you want to right click and click one the top edit choice. this will let us change the time for the frames.

Change the numbers ONLY.  the starting number is 100 and that is very fast for this one 800-1000 for a moving one like the one above try 300.  the higher the number the slow it will go. you can mix speeds too.

after changing all of them, go back to filter animation and click play back.

[Tutorial] Making Gif using Gimp Beginners (Picture HEAVY) Ones1110

now you can preview what the gif will look like, just hit play, if the speed is good, then continue, if it's not change the numbers
[Tutorial] Making Gif using Gimp Beginners (Picture HEAVY) Ones1210

now save it, using Export. and save it as a .gif   you MUST do that

if this pops up, it means you did it right if not, a few reason, a step was missed, your gimp is broken and you have to un-install and re install it.  Or you have a older version. ( this will pop up on older versions, but it is done different to make it)

 now you are done.

and this is if you want to do a clip.

now if for more moving one, you want the screen caps to be closer to the last one. to make it move better. like the one posted at the top.
