Janice turned her attention to Tenka. "My, how loud", she thought to herself. "Where do these people find all this energy? I hope one of those twin brats win this thing, I don't want to have to do this next year too."

She considered for a minute. "Perhaps it wouldn't be a complete waste of time talking to her" and proceeded to approach her.

"Tenka dear! What a pleasure to meet you. My name's Janice, Champion of District 9. How have you been enjoying this year's Hunger Games so far?"

"I am sure you, like everyone, have enjoyed all the action the tributes have offered us. But what's past is past - how would you like to make the rest of the games even more exciting?

What could be a better way for this year's games to end, than a battle to the death between siblings? Siblings that worked together to the end, no less. Why, this may even be a first for the Hunger Games! I can already imagine it - a dramatic dialogue between the poor twins, before they reach for their weapons and begin their ill-fated battle. So tragic, yet so fascinating!"

"My tributes have proven their worth in Cornucopia and are well-equiped I'm sure. But won't it be most unfortunate if they simply don't have enough energy left for this fateful battle! It would be such a shame, don't you agree? How would you feel about donating just a small sum for food and water for them? Then they will no doubt be able to provide us with the ultimate showdown!"

Tenka, still watching the monitors like a shark for Akiko to eat her s'mores, unceremoniously grunted at Janice's approach and attempt to gain her attention. "I don't know anything about the twins other than that they are boring. They haven't killed anyone or done anything even remotely interesting - not enough for the game makers, so not enough for me. We'll see about giving them - whatever it was you wanted, as soon as they start doing something worth my attention."

A smile crept through her lips, "But it would be interesting to see siblings against each other. We'll just have to see."

While Dome awaits responses from the sponsors, he turns his attention to his mobile unit, to send Carson a small water bottle. and a note that reads, "give em' hell, kid."

Carson awoke to an unexpected surprise. Two, in fact. The first? The river had finally calmed down, returning to what it was when he crossed it the first time, a stream. An easily passible stream. He smirked as he packed his belongings – well, Nao’s and Xavier’s belongings – wondering if the other tributes had enjoyed his marooning on the west side of the map, trapped beyond the river and forced hunt squirrels rather than them. But before he left his makeshift campsite he received his second surprise – a champion’s parachute. He looked at it warily – he hadn’t received anything since the game began – and opened it, finding a full bottle of water inside, along with a note:

Give ‘em hell, kid.

He looked up and nodded, taking a swig of the cool clean water as a sign of thanks, and tucked the new item into his bag. He had condensed the two bags he had down into one, tucking the second into the first just in case. He was filthy, covered in mud and leafy debris, but he didn’t bother to clean himself off as he stepped carefully across the stream; in fact, once crossed, he reached down into the mud and applied more of the substance to his face and hands, and then began plucking leaves from trees, turning himself into walking forest floor. Apparently satisfied, he struck off, his sword in hand.

Jove was gathering edible roots, stuffing his pack with them as Juno filled their waterbottles with stream water from the mountain. They both looked refreshed and no worse for wear, yet wore their weapons on them, as though just waiting for a surprise. Juno’s bow was slipped over her shoulder; Jove’s knives tied to his pant leg. Their rock shelter behind them smoked, as though they were cooking a meal, yet they didn’t seem worried about other tributes knowing their whereabouts, other than their constant glances towards the tree line.
 
…which is why they never expected an attack from behind.
 
“JOVE!” Juno screamed, having turned her head slightly towards the true mountain and spotted their adversary before it could get the jump on them. She sprang backwards to distance herself, capping their bottles.
 
“FORGET THE BOTTLES!” Jove yelled, standing with a long knife drawn offensively, “Get out of there!”
 
The camera panned to show a twelve-foot tall grizzly bear lumbering towards them, picking up speed as it rushed towards Juno, the girl with the long brown hair still determinedly holding their water supply as she backed away. “I’ve got you! Run back here!” Jove yelled, and Juno complied, throwing him the larger bottle when she got close to him.
 
Together they ran into the forest as she pulled her bow around, but as she turned to sight her target, she skidded backwards to a halt, “It’s not following,” she said, Jove doubling around to join her.
 
“Your pack?” he asked, dragging his own in one hand, his knife and waterbottle filling up the other.
 
“In the cave,” she replied dismally.
 
Jove frowned, looking back towards the small ‘home’ they had made for themselves in the games. “Well, better than a cave-in while one of us was sleeping, right?”
 
Juno rolled her eyes, playfully punching his shoulder. “Yeah, I guess. Here,” she handed him her bottle, and they set to packing his bag, looking around for anything of use in the forested area they typically used for hunting. After a while, she looked at him. “Think it’d let us sneak back and steal our fishing lines?”
 
“Think those fish would fly out of the stream and just let us eat them?” he replied.
 
“Shut up,” she said, smiling as she slung her stuffed quiver over her shoulder and held her bow at the ready. He shrugged, taking his knife in his left hand, his fingers twitching towards the brace of throwing knives. The twins went deeper into the forest, forced to let the games begin.

Some laughs openly at the recent scene on the monitor. "Hahaha. They were that rested and they couldn't even handle a bear? Amazing. That performance was soooooooo worth sponsor support." He scoffed sarcastically.
