Welcome to the 23 Annual Hunger Games!

I'm your host - Caesar Flickerman! - here to kick off the annual games in style! As we speak, tributes from the districts of Panem are being transported to the arena, their hearts thumping with excitement - not unlike you, they cannot wait for the Games to begin!

But as we wait on their arrival to the arena and subsequent preparation, I would like to invite you to rewatch clips from last night's interview with me as a means to pass the time - and get to know this years tributes again! Let's take a look, shall we?

Pre-Games Interview with Caesar Flickerman:: [9:04:41 PM] *** Kyralih added Dee O., AgentAyu or AkikoUranus ***

[9:12:53 PM] Kyralih: The lights dim and the audience hushes as a single light shines up from the large stage. With a burst of orange light, Caeser Flickerman appears! "Ahahahahah!" he laughs, "Hello, Capitol! You all know who I am," he pauses for applause, smiling invitingly and dancing across the stage, making a point to wink at the camera. After some showboating, he hushes the crowd, " but tonight is not about me! Tonight, we meet our tributes for the 23rd Annual Hunger Games!"

[9:15:48 PM] Kyralih: "As per usual, it's Ladies First! Please welcome to the stage our District One female tribute, Aurae!"

[9:16:52 PM] Alice: A smallish young woman in a very white full-skirted dress that shines with the light of hundreds or thousands of miniature diamonds confidently strolls across the stage to greet their host, smiling at the audience.

[9:17:06 PM] Kyralih: As the young woman makes her way on stage, Caesar smiles, motioning towards her, "Isn't she /beautiful/?"

[9:17:15 PM] Kyralih: "My, miss, you are /stunning/! Who are you wearing?"

[9:18:14 PM] Yonten Bianucci: *cellphone goes off while sitting in crowd, is immediately ejected by way of rocket boosters strapped to the bottom of his chair with a girlish "AAAAAAAIIII!"*

[9:18:53 PM] Alice: "One of my closest friends is a hopeful designer for formal attire," she responds, carefully displaying her skirt so that it catches the light. "How could I not allow them to be showcased for this momentous occassion?"

[9:19:55 PM] Kyralih: "Well, your friend is certainly talented! But whose dress wouldn't look lovely on such a beautiful model!" He smiles, encouraging the audience.

[9:20:31 PM] Alice: She laughs and touches his shoulder playfully. "Sir, you are /too/ kind."

[9:21:33 PM] Kyralih: He smiles at her touch, and changes subject, as though suddenly struck with a startling idea. "Tell me, Aurae, what was your reaction when the Game Masters gave you a score of 10?" He leans forward in interest, "I hope you don't mind my saying so, but you don't seem so threatening to me!"

[9:25:09 PM] Alice: She leans towards him with another grin, mimicking his actions and doing her best to keep the audience and cameras engaged. "It was a happy surprise, but one that I must admit I was hoping for. Don't forget that one doesn't have to appear /threatening/ to pose a threat," she replies with another smile. The way the light reflects across her eyes at that moment has an edge of seriousness, something more menacing than the pagentry of glittering dresses, glossy curls, and constant smiles.

[9:27:12 PM] Kyralih: He chuckles happily at her response, "Oh! We'll have to watch you /very/ closely, won't we?" he only half-jokes, and changes subject yet again. "Speaking of, do you have anyone special back home keeping a close eye on your performance? Any sweethearts or family?"

[9:27:19 PM] Yonten Bianucci: *falls screaming like a little girl, still sitting on his rocket chair, only to miss the edge of the pavilion as the chairs course had intended (too many French fries most likely), and lands with a thud on the western corner of the stage. The host and guest pay him no mind as he crawls out from under the chair and slinks into the front row to find a seat.*

[9:28:39 PM] Kyralih: Caesar glances behind him with a raised brow at the misplaced audience member, shooting the camera a charasmatic, knowing smile before retuning his attention to the tribute

[9:29:51 PM] Natasha Bianucci: * Natasha giggles in her seat at the fallen champion, before looking carefully about the tribute on stage, wondering what she meant with her devilish grin, and her words.*

[9:30:02 PM] Alice: She giggles at his first reply, perfectly on cue. "Oh, I'm sure that my family will be watching intently. They're very proud to have me representing our fine district." She smooths the skirt of her dress again, sending bright flashes of reflected prisms towards the cameras and crowd. "Although sweethearts I have none--my three older brothers are a bit /too/ over protective," she adds with light-hearted laugh.

[9:30:53 PM] Kyralih: He laughs genuinely alongside her, "I'll bet!"

[9:32:40 PM] Kyralih: He reaches over and takes Aurae's hand in his, "Well, Aurae, tribute of District One, may the odds be ever in your favor! Good luck in the arena - I can see you're one to watch!" He releases her hand and stands, signling the end of Aurae's screen time.

[9:34:47 PM] Alice: Aurae leans over and plants a light, clearly staged for effect, kiss on Cesar's cheek, then curtseys deeply. She spins back around and waves at the audience and cameras, all smiles and gratitude. "Thank you so much, Cesar--and thank you, Panem!" And with that, she exits swiftly--but precisely on cue.

[9:35:37 PM] Natasha Bianucci: *Natasha applauds Aurae as she leaves the stage.*

[9:36:04 PM] Kyralih: "What a beautiful young woman! And such a lovely dress! But we can expect nothing less from our Luxury district." Caesar comments lightly as she descends teh stage. "Next we have our male candidate from District One - Austin!"

[9:37:56 PM] Yonten Bianucci: *mutters as Aurae leaves the stage* "shameless flirt. I'll have to watch out for that one..."

[9:37:58 PM] Kyralih: A beefy young man joins him on stage; his interview with Caesar was not quite as charming as Aurae's; it was clear that Austin wasn't quite as witty as one would hope, but his eyes were dangerous. His score was only a 6, though; what was he hiding? Or had he volunteered without fully realizing what was at stake?

[9:38:22 PM] Kyralih: Caesar dismisses him from the stage to a polite applause

[9:42:03 PM] Kyralih: "Our next young woman hails from District Two, our manufacturing district! Please, join us on stage, Nao!" Caesar invites, standing to recieve the next female candidate.

[9:43:51 PM] Kyralih: Caesar chuckles, "Maybe she needs a little encouragement! Please, everyone, a round of applause for Nao, of District Two1"

[9:44:13 PM] Yonten Bianucci: *obligatory applause*

[9:44:27 PM] Ari-Chan: A short haired blond walks out on stage in abutton up shirt slacks and a tie a big difference from the girl from district one. She walked across the stage towards ceaser with confidence in her everystep (sorry got distracted by something)

[9:45:52 PM] Kyralih: "Ah!" Caesar exclaims, "Here she is! Good evening, Miss Nao," he bows his head jovially and motions to the stylizes overstuffed armchair that serves as the tribute's chair.

[9:47:10 PM] Ari-Chan: "good evening to you as well" she says before walking over and sitting down crossing one leg over the other.

[9:48:14 PM] Kyralih: "So, Miss Nao, I hear you are an only child?" he probes

[9:49:08 PM] Ari-Chan: "yes I am mom and dad didn't want anymore after me" she answers not missing a beat and she wasn't planing to either

[9:49:58 PM] Kyralih: Caesar nods, giving the conversation a little space as he throws her a curveball, "Do you think you will be returning to them?"

[9:51:02 PM] Ari-Chan: "well that's my plan I guess we'll just find out when the games start now won't we?" she said raiseing an eyebrow at the question

[9:52:14 PM] Natasha Bianucci: *Natasha takes note of Nao's self doubt, shaking her head to herself silently.*

[9:54:01 PM] Kyralih: He chuckles, enjoying her easiness with the question, "I guess we shall! Now, Nao, your attire tonight is a little interseting! Are you and your stylist making a statement to the fashion-forward of the Capitol?" He looks to the audience conspiratorially, as though he were letting them in on a big secret, before returning his attention to Nao. ((He's sincere, not making fun XD))

[9:56:37 PM] Ari-Chan: "not really this is just the way I normally dress never been one to wear dresses." she said."actually if I think it's girly in any way I won't touch it with a ten foot pole" she finished with another shrug.

[9:57:37 PM] Kyralih: "Oh!" Caesar replies, "That's interesting!" he replies, "Have you always been a 'tomboy'? Or did you start focusing on your more masculine side in preparation for the Games?"

[9:57:55 PM] Yonten Bianucci: *makes note of possible lesbianism, could sway a sponsor with that.*

[9:59:05 PM] Ari-Chan: Nao raises an eyebrow at the question. "been a tomboy my whole life." she said

[10:02:31 PM] Kyralih: Caesar laughs appreciatively, "Wonderful! This should make things interesting!" He changed topic quickly, becoming suddenly serious, "Speaking of the Arena, can we expect any special talents from you?"

[10:04:17 PM] Ari-Chan: Nao looks at cesar "now why would I tell you all of my secrets just going to have to wait forme to actually hit the arena before you find out about any of my special talents that's for me to know and for everyone else to find out." she said easily yet compleatly serious.

[10:07:43 PM] Kyralih: "Aha!" Caesar laughs, "My mistake! Of course you must protect your strategies, what was I thinking?" He turned to the audience, motioning towards himself as though he were crazy. "Well, Nao, I look forward to whatever surprises you have in store for us once you've hit the arena!" He finished, signaling the end of their interview.

[10:08:41 PM] Ari-Chan: Nao nodded to Cesear before standing up and walking off the stage.

[10:09:17 PM] Kyralih: He stood respectfully as she left, motioning towards her to draw the audience's eye.

[10:09:56 PM] Natasha Bianucci: *Natasha respectfully applauds the second tribute as she leaves the stage.*

[10:10:06 PM] Natasha Bianucci: *third*

[10:10:22 PM] Kyralih: "Next up, also from District two, is Nathan! Nathan scored an impressive 10 from his training!" ... their interview is fairly standard. Nathan is deceptively cheerful.

[10:11:18 PM] Kyralih: "Dina, of District Three!" Dina was a young girl - barely eleven. Caesar was gentle with her, asking about her favorite things, trying to cheer her up, and then thanked her.

[10:12:08 PM] Natasha Bianucci: *Natasha shakes her head, feeling slightly sorry for the child, but then again, that's what the games are all about.*

[10:12:49 PM] Kyralih: "Derreck! Also of district three!" the boy seemed a little more at ease than his fellow tribute, but he was definitely trying hard to look tough.

[10:14:21 PM] Kyralih: "Thank you, District Three! Next to the stage is our first tribute from district four, Cere!" He motions the girl onto the stage with another bright smile.

[10:17:46 PM] Kyralih: "Cere, I understand, is the eldest of four in her family," he added as an additional greeting as the girl made her way on stage.

[10:17:58 PM] Cere: Cere walks onto the stage with a proud smirk on her face. The dazzling sequins in her aqua marine dress give the spectators the impression of water droplets clinging to her naturally tan skin. She has her long brown hair held up in a high ponytail. She smiles sweetly at Cesar. She stops and turns to her audience and waves, "Hello Panem!" She bows as the audience roars with applause before slipping into the chair in front of Cesar, crossing her legs.

[10:23:36 PM] Cere: Cere met Cesar's eyes, "Why yes Mr. Flickerman, I have two sisters and two brothers." She smiled curtly.

[10:24:58 PM] Kyralih: "And yet you volunteered for the reaping!" Caesar continued, his expression filled with surprised intrigue. "What made you want to particpate in the Games this year?" he asked.

[10:26:44 PM] Cere: "In my district it's the highest honor to get to compete in these games. The people in my district are generally wealthy mine is one of the rare exceptions. I intend to win the games to make life better for my family." She retorted leaning in closer.

[10:27:35 PM] Natasha Bianucci: "Awww!" Natasha responds in the crowds.

[10:28:05 PM] Natasha Bianucci: (from in*)

[10:29:08 PM] Kyralih: Caesar sat up straight, turning to the audience, "Lovely /and/ noble! Speaking of, tell me about your /beautiful/ dress, my dear! You look just like an sea nymph!"

[10:32:03 PM] Cere: Cere giggled at Cesar's enthusiasm. She stood up and turned around giving the audience the full effect of her dress, "District four is famous for its fishing industry, so my stylist thought this was suitable for the occasion. I love my district and this dress represents everything it stands for." She answered taking her seat.

[10:35:25 PM] Kyralih: "Beautiful! Simply beautiful! It reflects well upon your district! Tell me, Cere, are you as dangerous to fish as you are to our hearts?" he asked teasingly, hoping to get her to tell them just a little bit more about her home before her time was up.

[10:38:15 PM] Cere: "Mr. Flickerman if you're referring to a beau, then I must decline. I like to keep my personal life a secret just in case it goes against me in the arena." She replied courteously.

[10:39:27 PM] Kyralih: He turned to the audience slyly, "And she's smart, too!" he waited for their response, then turned back to the young woman in the sequined dress, "Cere, it has been lovely. Good luck to you in the games!" He stood, signaling that her time was up.

[10:41:13 PM] Cere: Cere smiled and stood and bowed to the audience once more before blowing them all a kiss. She waltzed off the stage and back into the tribute room.

[10:42:09 PM] Natasha Bianucci: *Natasha takes note of the fact that she found this tribute very attractive for some reason she didn't quite understand.*

[10:42:38 PM] Kyralih: "Next we have Carson, also of District Four!" A tall blonde walked on stage; he was quite handsome. "So, Carson! Another volunteer! And you scored a /ten/!" .... their interview was rather standard.

[10:44:19 PM] Kyralih: "Thank you, Carson! And good luck to you in the arena. Next up we have Akiko, of District Five!" he called, standing with his arm outstretched towards the side of the stage.

[10:45:28 PM] AgentAyu or AkikoUranus: Akiko walked out onto the stage full of confidence. She twirled around showing the audience that she too was not wearing a dress. She lightly tugged the collar of her jacket and adjusted her tie for show. As she continued walking up to Casear she gave a two finger salute to the audience while flashing a big smile. "Casear! So good to finally meet you in person!"

[10:46:43 PM] Natasha Bianucci: *"Spunky!" Natasha whispers to herself.

[10:47:17 PM] Natasha Bianucci: She adds the note to her notebook.*

[10:48:44 PM] Kyralih: "Wonderful!" Caesar commented, clapping and acting for all the world as though the girl had come out wearing the most marvelous of ball gowns. He liked the toss up that was the trend of girls wearing pantsuits. He returned her playful salute in kind, "And it is lovely to meet you, too, my dear! Now, tell me, who are you wearing?" he asked, hoping to hear more about this new fashion statement.

[10:51:01 PM] AgentAyu or AkikoUranus: "Well, I'm wearing Armani. Which I'm completely honored to wear since their line is mainly tailored towards men. But, my team thought it would fit me rather well. I especially love the gold tie detail they added in last minute. It's supposed to represent the electricity since my district is what helps bring the power supply through out all of Panem!" Akiko did appreciate her team's eye for details.

[10:51:37 PM] Yonten Bianucci: *observes other champions and sponsors making notes in archaic notebooks. Looks down at his lap at his high tech tablet he uses for note taking, and smiles to himself. Looks up, still smiling, to find a clearly ancient and incredibly 'manly' woman two seats down from him eyeing him and smiling, also looking at his lap. His smile dies an undignified death as he quickly stands and looks for another seat as far as possible from the old woman.*

[10:52:17 PM] Natasha Bianucci:

[10:52:18 PM] Kyralih: "I agree, it does fit you well! Doesn't it, Capitol?" he asked, turning to the audience for applause.

[10:52:34 PM] Natasha Bianucci: *cheers*

[10:53:11 PM] Kyralih: "Now, Akiko, I hear that the pride of your district - the Power Plant - was also in your future plans! What position did you hope to have within the electric company?"

[10:55:28 PM] AgentAyu or AkikoUranus: "Well, I hope to be able to take one of three positions I have my sites on. Security officer, because someone has to make sure some stragglers in our district don't mess with the power plants. That wouldn't be good for anyone no matter which district you're froom. My mom is a system analyst, so I thought that would be fun to learn from her. Or even maintenance to make sure everything is running smoothly."

[10:57:51 PM] Kyralih: "Security officer?" Caesar exclaims, "My, that sounds dangerous!" he plays, turning again to the audience feigning fear for Akiko's safety, "But then, with your score of seven, I have no doubt that you would be more than able to defend yourself and the plant! But following in your mother's footsteps - Akiko, tell me more about your mother! I would love to hear more about an imporant person in your life!"

[11:01:30 PM] AgentAyu or AkikoUranus: Akiko leaned forward. She was really proud of her mother. "My mom is a huge inspiration for me. Unlike other people in our district she wasn't able to go to school because she had to help my grandmother raise all her siblings, my aunts and uncles. One of my uncles was actually a tribute in some of the earlier years. He sadly didn't make it past the first day. Anyhow, my mom worked hard at the power plant to get to where she is today. She actually started out there filing papers in the maintenance offices. But, people saw she had potential and sent her to night school until she was able to be a system analyst. If my mom could do that without going to school, she really sets the example for me that you can do anything if you set your heart and mind to it." Akiko turned towards the screen. "I love you, mom!"

[11:02:08 PM] Natasha Bianucci: "Awwwww!"

[11:04:20 PM] Kyralih: Caesar put his hand across his heart, "And I'm sure she loves you, too! What an inspiring story!" he comments, waiting for the audience to settle down a bit before continuing, "But, you know, Akiko, that if you /win/ the games, you wouldn't have to work in the power plant - you wouldn't have to work anywhere anymore. What do you think you would do with all of your free time if you became this year's Champion?"

[11:06:36 PM] AgentAyu or AkikoUranus: Akiko took a moment to think before smiling, "To be fully honest Caesar, I'd probably still work in the power plant. I've been working my way up to that before finding out I would have been this year's tribute, I think it's only right I continue working towards that goal."

[11:09:24 PM] Kyralih: "Such dedication! Isn't she fabulous?" Caesar asked, motioning again to the audience, smiling ear-to-ear as he stood - her time was up. "Well, Akiko, I wish you the best of luck in the games! If you show as much drive and dedication in the arena as you have here, I suspect I might be seeing you on this stage again!" he offered her his hand, presenting her to the audience, "Akiko of District 5!"

[11:10:35 PM] AgentAyu or AkikoUranus: "WOOOH!" Akiko shouted as she joined in the cheers of the audience. As she was beginning to walk off stage she kissed her hand and blew it into the audience while sendng them one last big smile.

[11:11:46 PM] Natasha Bianucci: *I love flirts!*

[11:11:52 PM] Kyralih: Caesar is left laughing at Akiko's cheer and exit for nearly as long as the audience was laughing. His next guest, Aaron, also of district five, fell flat after her performance, and his score of five gave him nothing to really fall back on.

[11:12:33 PM] Kyralih: But by his exit, the audience had settled down and was ready to listen once again.

[11:12:44 PM] Kyralih: "Next, hailing from district 6, is our female tribute, Heidi!"

[11:14:15 PM] Natasha Bianucci: *Natasha leans down to pay attention to the next tribute.*

[11:15:55 PM] Dee O.: A petite redhead made her way across the stage, hesitating ever so slightly as she faced the large crowd for the first time. With the bright lights blinding her, she blinked to clear her eyes, flush staining her cheeks. Nervously she ran a hand down the side of her dark blue skirt that hit her mid thigh. It was paired with a white button down shirt, suspenders, and a pair of black boots with a low heel. Gathering her courage, she continued across the stage to Caear. "Hello." Her voice was soft but carried.

[11:17:59 PM] Kyralih: Caesar smiled softly, "Hello to you, too," he greeted. "How are you liking the Capitol so far?" he asked, keeping it light as he signaled for her to take her seat, falling into his chair as well.

[11:20:36 PM] Dee O.: She sat, relieved to have something solid under her. Crossing her legs demurely, she rested her hands lightly on her knees. Her eyes were trained on Caesar as a nervous smile teased her lips. "It is all very grand. Not at all what I'm used to at home. Much cleaner, that's for sure."

[11:25:11 PM] Kyralih: Caesar smiled, nodding. She seemed shy; he didn't want to overpower her, but intended to draw her out. "Cleaner?" he commented with a hint of humor (in her favor), hoping she would elaborate.

[11:28:28 PM] Dee O.: Under his careful questioning, she relaxed and even giggled a little. At his question she sat up straigher and gave a soft sigh, one that spoke of enduring patience that came from living with two men. "Both my father and older brother are mechanics. So things around my home are very messy."

[11:31:06 PM] Kyralih: "Oh?" Caesar asked, his eyes comically wide as he looked at her, his lips forming a little 'o' as his eyes moved to the audience, "Am I correct in sensing that /you/ may be the one to clean up after them?"

[11:33:57 PM] Dee O.: She nodded once, rolling her eyes just a little. "Yes, you are correct." Then she smiled brightly and looked at the crowd. "But as tiring as it can be, I do love them."

[11:34:23 PM] Natasha Bianucci: "Awwwww!"

[11:34:44 PM] Kyralih: "Aww," Caesar joined in. "Do you miss them?" He asked, softly, his eyes on hers now.

[11:36:31 PM] Dee O.: Thinking of her family made tears well up in her eyes and she sniffed, swiping at them with one finger. "Yes, I do very much. Its hard to be apart from them, but I hope that I'll be able to return to them."

[11:38:40 PM] Kyralih: Caesar put a comforting hand on her arm; perhaps this was the wrong move. "I hope you will, too." He smiled, "And, hey, with a score of nine, you very well might be back with them soon!" He decided to end this one a little early. He stood, offering her his hand to help her to her feet.

[11:39:11 PM] Kyralih: But before she could go, he paused, keeping her hand as he remarked, "Your outfit is very pretty!"

[11:39:24 PM] Kyralih: And then he spun her in a circle, hoping to send her off the stage with a smile.

[11:39:51 PM] Dee O.: She accepted Caesar's hand and rose, giving him a small smile. At his comment she glanced down and blushed. "Thank you." Ending the twirl, she quickly exited the stage.

[11:41:08 PM] Kyralih: Caesar leads the applause as the girl exits the stage, and waits a moment before calling Hank, the boy from her district that had scored an 8.

[11:42:18 PM] Kyralih: After Hank came the district 7 tributes, Janice and Jason (scores 5 and 4); then district 8 with Sarah and Sam, with scores 9 and 10. Then came district eleven...

[11:43:52 PM] Kyralih: District 9 had Juno, a tall and silent girl. She didn't say much; she scored a 9.

[11:44:53 PM] Kyralih: District 10: Tina and Ted (9&6), District 11: Xena and Xavier (6&12); District 12 Zakira and Zonan (7 and 5)

[11:47:34 PM] Kyralih: As the last tribute left the stage, Caesar remained standing, walking forward to take center stage. "May all of the tributes get a good night's rest, for tomorrow begins THE HUNGER GAMES!" The crowd cheered as a laser light show begins, the stage erupting in smoke as Caesar disappeared.

Ahaha! Wasn't that great? So many personalities this year, so much hope! These games promise to be exciting, there's no doubt in my mind! But for those of you who forgot to take notes during the interviews - don't worry, I sometimes forget too! - we've arranged a little slide show for the tributes, stating their name, their district, and their score!

Tributes and Scores:

Those were some impressive scores! Especially from District Eleven's Xavier! A 12 is near impossible to attain! I wish we could have seen what it was like for the tributes to train and get a better idea of their talents, but, alas, we cannot. But then, what fun would it be to know everything from the beginning? Surprises are in store! And now, I believe, it is time to review the rules of the Hunger Games!

Gameplay Rules:

Status, Talents and Abilities

Given a chance to hide from people that enter their zone (It would appear as though someone were in the area. Weakness: Tracking talent. EXAMINE would reveal them)

Can initiate sneak-attacks (+1 attack bonus from hiding spot)

o Poisons

§

Can leave poisoned food or water in a zone (Ability: POISON)

§

Can examine an edible for toxicity (Ability: TEST FOR POISON)

§

Can tip their weapon in poison, if poisoned substance is on person (Ability: ENVENOM)

§

Can find spot poisoned edibles to use (Ability: EXAMINE FOR POISON)

§

Poison slows and eventually kills tributes who ingest it (2 turn delay)

o Edibles

§

Can find food more easily in plant zones by finding edible plants and insects (Ability: EXAMINE)

§

Gets +1 hunger from eating food.

o Fishing

§

Ahahaha, who am I kidding? There are no rules in the Hunger Games! It's kill or be killed, with the Champion receiving riches for the rest of their lives, and supplies for their district for the rest of the year! Helping them along the way are their District's former Champions:

Throughout the games, tributes will be able to fill out the map based on what they find in each of the areas; of course, we will be keeping their map location a secret through our program!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE HUNGER GAMES HAS BEGUN!

The Television focuses in on the arena, sweeping over trees until it comes to a clearing near dead-center of the map. The camera turns, showing the impressive Cornucopia in all of its glory - within its woven maw lay a splendor of supplies, each incredibly valuable to any of the tributes in the ring; there was the weapon store, bristling with knives, swords, tridents, spears, and one bow with a set of arrows. Other weapons lay strewn about, getting smaller and smaller the farther they get from the Cornucopia, as was the case with the more basic survival supplies. As always, the Cornucopia was the treasure trove, filled with rations, tents, backpacks brimming with supplies... their number and size, too, dwindling as the radius increased.

Any tribute that dared attempt to enter the Cornucopia would be rewarded, should they survive.

Tributes that ran might be able to pick up the odd supply, if they were quick enough.

In a perfect circle surrounding the Cornucopia from some distance were the tribute chutes. Each had a number on it representing the district the tribute within was from; starting from the northernmost point and moving clockwise, districts 1 through 12 wrapped around the circle. ((D. 1 is true north, D. 3 is true east, D. 6 is true south, D. 9 is true west; tributes, choose carefully which direction you run in if you choose to run away from the cornucopia)) A clock appeared in the bottom of the screen - the tributes would see it projected in the sky - and suddenly the chutes opened as the tributes were elevated to the surface. They blinked heavily in the bright morning sunlight, each looking around in an attempt to take everything in.

As Zonan, the male tribute from district 12, looked around, his eyes failing to adjust to the sunlight, his face contorted. Before anyone could remind him of the danger, he sneezed powerfully and stepped backward off the metal plate. Zonan, male tribute of district 12, died in a powerful explosion caused by stepping off the plate before the timer ran out. [b style="font-size: 13px;"] His sudden death probably came as a shock to the people surrounding him - his partner from 12, Zakira, and the girl from 1, Aurae. A canon going off punctuated the clock as it continued to count down.[/b]

"Woah!" Caesar Flickerman exclaimed, narrating over the visions on screen.

Zakira of 12 stumbles back, looking at where Zonan used to be. She's hesitating.

Xavier, from district 11, runs towards the Cornucopia. He's now armed with a knife.

Xena of 11 rushes forward. She picks up a backpack and turns back to run into the forest NW of the Cornucopia.

Ted from 10 dashes north, and runs into Xena. They fight. In the scuffle, the pair roll into a small knife. Xena grabs the knife; Ted is dead. Xena rolls up, horrified, and pulls herself to her feet.

Tina ran forward, picks up a bag, and keeps going, towards the Cornucopia.

Jove and Juno rush forward together. Jove grabs a bag, Jupiter a bow. They continue forward.

Sam runs forward, skipping any ground items as he heads straight for the Cornucopia.

Sarah turns, looking towards both of the hesitating girls near their starting position - Xena and Zakira - and rushes forward, hoping to find a weapon.

Jason takes off towards the SW forest.

Janice stumbles into Hank. He punches her aside roughly, knocking her out. He'd finish her later. he heads towards the cornucopia, sizing up the competition. ((Edit: Janice is dead.; Hank hit her really hard; he thought she was just KO, but she's gone)).

Seeing his in, the slight Aaron dives forward, grabs a small pack of throwing knives, and throws one at Hank with ease. Hank is dead. Aaron turns, grabs a small tarp, and heads south into the forest.

Heidi stood in her tube, her hands shaking from nerves as she waited for the Games to begin. Panic fought with logic and she struggled to keep her mind clear and focused. There was no way she would survive the bloodbath of the Cornucopia, so her first instinct was to flee. But when the tube rose, revealing the Cornucopia and it's treasure trove of weapons and supplies, she knew she had to get something that would help in her survival. Some kind of weapon and even a small supply pack would be helpful. A quick glance around and Heidi knew what she had to do, even if it lowered her chances.

The explosion from one of district twelve's tubes startled her and for a split second she paused, glancing that way. The sight made her stomach churn and she was almost sick then and there. Then there was no time to think about his mistake as the Games started. The immediate carnage was enough to convince her that her first instinct was correct. Whirling and putting her back to the Cornucopia, her eyes searched and landed on a small pack. Dashing forward, she reached for it.

Akiko let out a deep breath and loosened herself up before entering the tube to enter the arena. Her plan of action was quickly grab a weapon, maybe a small pack if she had time, and get out of the Cornucopia area quickly. As the tub rose her into the arena she began to feel the adrenaline begin to kick in. She looked at all the tributes, paying closer attention to the tributes from District 1 through 4 and 6. Akiko gave a slight nod towards Nao before searching the Cornucopia for something that would help her.

She spotted a short sword not too deep into the Cornucopia. She also made a mental note of where some small packs were. If she timed it right she could grab her back as she left the Cornucopia. First priority was the short sword though. Akiko jumped hearing the explosion, but didn't look at who was the unlucky tribute to step off the platform before the countdown ended. What she did know was that it wasn't the ones she was really keeping her eyes out for. When the countdown reached zero, she made a sprint towards the short sword.

Carson of district four seemed to guess Akiko's intention and dashed after her. He launched himself after her and ((rolled die ^^')) fell just short, his hand grabbing only her ankle. She managed to escape.

Akiko quickly recovered from nearly tripping because of the District 4 tribute and still made a dash towards the sword. She'll deal with him shortly. If she wasn't near the Cornucopia yet, neither was he.

Shouldering the backpack, Heidi ran on. She kept one eye out for other tributes as she made her way away from the Cornucopia. The rest of her attention was trained on the ground, hoping to find some kind of weapon, even though the chances were slim this far out. Catching a gleam of metal, she angled towards it and bent down to scoop it up.

Cere tightened her ponytail and stepped on her platform ready to rise into the arena. She felt the silver anchor clasp holding her hair in place, reminding her of the ones she left behind back home. The faces of her younger brothers and sisters filled her mind from the day of the reaping. They looked so scared and so unsure of themselves. Anchor her second youngest sister came to mind. Cere knew that if she lost the burden of maintaining the household would rest on her shoulders. She knew her obligation was to win. There was no other choice. She listened to the countdown, hearing the blood pump in her ears. The arena stood before her in all its glory. Who knew of the snares and traps the Gamemakers had set before them? She gulped back the bile in her throat and nodded to Aurae just a few feet away on her own platform waiting for the countdown to end. She felt her stomach lurch in her throat when she heard the explosion of the unlucky tribute who had stepped off the platform before the countdown was over. She smirked to herself feeling relieved that at least one of the tributes was out of the way. She truly didn't want to kill anyone, but Anchor's frightened face gave her determination. After the countdown ended, Cere raced towards the Cornucopia grabbing a satchel on her way. She noticed a quiver full of arrows with a bow standing in plain view. She took a deep breath racing towards her prize.

Derreck of district three dashes towards the Cornucopia, the thirteen year old hoping for some luck, or at least a big bag.

Dina ran straight off into the woods to the NE.

Austin of district 1 weaves away from the explosion, heading for Nao.

Cere picked up a medium-sized bag.

Derreck wove to get out of Cere's way, tripping over his own two feet and landing on a set of metal claws hiding in the grass. Derreck is dead.

Cere watched as the tribute from district three dove out of her way. She was glad he didn't try any funny business with her. She cringed when she heard a snap and a loud scream from the boy behind her as the metal claws snapped his helpless body in two. She shook her head ignoring the distraction and ran towards the cornucopia.

New knife clasped firmly in her hand, Heidi was ready to leave. The longer she stayed here, the more chance of her being engaged in a fight, something she wanted to avoid for the moment. A glance over her shoulder revealed the chaos of the Cornucopia and she wasn't sure which tributes were even alive at this point, though she did see some she recognized from last night's interviews.

So, she kept moving south, away from the action.

Nao nodded back to Akiko her eyes going back in front of her. She didn't seem to nitice the poor tribute that had just been killed in the explosion either. As soon as the count down ended she stepped down and started for the cornicopia. As soon as she noticed where Cere was headed her eyes narrowed. She scooped up the nearest weapon and started a mad dash for the bow and arrows as well. there was no way she was going to let that go easily she needed that weapon so she was going for it if she had her way the bow and arrows would be hers.
