Going to be making some of crystalsetsuna's 50 Chibiusa project^^ I'm starting with Komaki so I here she is, the work in progress. I plan to make a background, maybe a cherry blossom tree with a small stream and the palace in the distance, with a mucha styles background around her senshi form or something like that. I'll turn it into lineart before attempting to color, any ideas on what kind of pen I should use? I literally only ever use regular HB 2 pencils and sketch paper lol. I only just recently got into colored pencils. I can't wait to try copic markers^^ I'll post the lineart separately before I color it so others can try too^^ Is there a specific pen tip for lineart though? I tried a fine tip ball point pen but it wasn't working out well. The color wasn't dark enough and the fine tip isn't fine enough lol maybe I should research it haha Anyway, here is Mamoru from the art contest for his birthday, congrats by the way mysteryofloveandjustice. When I went on to congratulate you the topic was locked and only admins can post there now. I already emails Haine about it^^

When I get a scanner, I'll upload them before I do the lineart and then after I do the lineart. I'm gonna lok up which kind of pen to buy u.u |

YEY! Thank you I worked really hard on it >.> I wish I knew how to smooth lineart for digital art though I'm worried it looks to bulky but I'm hoping after it's colored it won't be so bold^^

It looks great, lovie!! It can be hard to draw characters that are not your own xD I love the detail you are able to get into their design. The clothes look pretty and the hair is nice and flowy xD Oh and I especially love those shoes/boots xD If you are worried about the lineart looking too bold, a simple trick might be to make the lines a different color other than pure black. It can make a lineart look softer in my opinion hehe Maybe try a dark purple or brown or blue or something and see if it looks more to your liking I look forward to seeing more updates

Thanks guys! I figured Mamoru needed some fan service haha^^ Thanks for the lineart tips^^ Do you know anyway to clean up a pencil sketch digitally because I have no idea u.u I used a marker to make the lineart and it's still picking up pencil marks I'm so new to the digital stuff haha

You could try playing with the brightness/contrast of the picture, as well as playing with the color levels. Those tools can make the lighter grey pencil marks disappear, whilst making the darker greys and blacks even more noticeable. Do you have a drawing tablet, or a program capable of drawing paths? Using that, you could draw over your sketch on a separate layer to make a completely new lineart as well. These are just some ways I personally do it when I scan in a picture xD There are probably other ways as well! You could possibly look up various ways to clean up a picture on DevArt and other sites too! :3
