Wig, did not put hair up in it, obviously you can see my hair. My hair is too thick and annoying to deal with for a simple picture.XD Shoes I painted and attached ribbon. Currently they're just taped inside 'cause I did not want to glue them just yet, but it's good enough for the moment. The skirt isn't as short as I thought it was going to be but that can be fixed. better too long than too short =P...and yeah the bow likes to spin around so it was screwed up. I can't see without my glasses so I did not notice. XD...and now I see the choker is crooked. I fail.

Anyhoo! Here it is for anyone who cares. it's just for Halloween at the moment. XD.

Yea. My mom sews pretty well so I asked her to make the costume. She said it looks fairly easy to make. My issue though will be the purple boots and the staff. I have black combat boots that go to my ankles which I might use if I don't get purple boots. I have to somehow make the staff.

myfriend is going to be Saturn for Halloween and is going to use her high lace up converse, the ones that go to your knees. I think hers are black. And for her staff she is just using a grim reaper staff thing. Close enough for her. Lol.

Haha, I have knee high converse but they are different shades of pink patches! So not working. And a grim reaper staff... that is a good idea. I will keep that in mind in case I am unable to produce my own.

I bought cheap white ballet flats and painted them with aqua acrylic paint, and then got some aqua ribbon and added to it ^_^

Advice needed

I bought purple high healed shoes today at a rummage sale for very cheap to wear in case I can't find purple boots. Do you think purple socks with lace on them with the shoes would look stupid? :lolz:

Well, if I get a job I will put money away for those boots they sell on ebay. I would wear them with normal day clothes since I am odd like that. People at my college stare at me. I wore pink fish nets one day to school.

Wow, the wig was cheap? It looks pretty nice o: I would recommend wearing something under the skirt to make it poof more and trying to straighten the bow a bit, but it looks good so far! I love the shoes c:


@Sailor Yumi: Have you considered getting black knee-high boots and spray painting them purple? I think that would turn out pretty well. Spray paint can work wonders on cosplay shoes and accessories.

it was $17. Compared to the others I saw it was cheap. And haha yeah the bow keeps sliding everytime I take a picture -_-

@SailorYumi: Or you can make boot-covers! Basically you just buy purple fabric to match the color of your heels, and then cut it out to the shape you want and sew it to your shoes. I have not thought about that. I can go to a thrift store and find cheap boots. Thanks.

If you want to make your bow stay put use a safety pin on each side (we had a terrible time with ours wanted to spin with one and some of them even two centered pins!)

@Sailor Yumi, I second the spray paint for boots, if you know how to sew boot covers can also be made (And they are much easier to do without sewing for shoes that are the correct height!)

Only thing about painting shoes, they sometimes tend to crack and peel over time. Depending on the material it might not stick at all.

Vinyl and Pleather tend to give the most trouble with paints, (excepting the clear plastic or metal bottoms in some "stripper shoes") generally a very light sanding followed by primer, paint and a very good sealant will give you some wear time before cracks start.
Cold hard fact, if you move the painted part of the shoes at all during walking / sitting they will eventually crack and peel. My Jubilee boots were given the full sanding, priming, painting, and heat sealing, and for about 10 hours work I was given 3 crack free hours.

If you paint cloth shoes, acrylics tend to play a little nicer than spray paint, fabric paints work best but can be a little pricier depending on where you can buy them from.

Save making your own shoes, boot covers are one of the best ways to go, there's a myriad of how-to's, ranging from complex to simple, and even if you can't sew, there's things like stitch witchery and the all hailed hot-glue to make it look correct and photograph well.

I think the easiest thing in the boot category is buying them on Ebay, they have Sailor Moon boots that are really well maded on there.
