Alrighty. Here are the contestants for this month's otaku. I got a pretty decent amount and all of them are very creative and wonderful. So, I entrust in you guys to vote for the best otaku, since you can only vote once. Please, be very careful with the voting process. And of course, as usual, participants may also vote in the contest. Voting will only be open until the 16th!

Now without further ado...

Entry 1:



- Sailor Periwinkle Knight

- Sailor Peri (as her close friends call her) is a fairy guardian of dreams and nightmares. She calls forth dream energy and nightmare energy for her attacks. Dream energy is often positive, healing energy. Nightmare energy is usually dark and powerful, putting dread in the hearts of Peri's enemies. Peri avoids using the Negative energy as it slowly corrupts her and will over take her body. When this happens, she becomes Sailor Nightmare Periwinkle. It is temporary and Peri can fight off the evil depending on the grasp. She always fears of the day she will be unable to do so.


-As a guardian of dreams, Peri is always on duty. She rests in the land of Elysion and is friends with the maenaeds and creatures there. Most of her time is spent amongst humans in world, but often unseen. She has no civilian identity unless absolute necessary to face her enemies. Peri is often flittering between dreams and nightmares, protecting the ones that slumber from any form of chaos taking hold of them and corrupting them. In a way, she is there to prevent truly evil people from developing, for when people have darkness in their hearts and dreams, chaos takes a hold and corrupts them into a true evil being. Of course, Peri cannot watch over everyone on her own, so things slip through. That's why there are other dream guardians that exist within the universe, but for now Peri is the only one on her world.


Entry 2:



Sailor Amarante

Sailor Amarante is the guardian and soldier of of flora. As such, she has the power to manipulate plants; including manipulating them to do her bidding.

Being born as a guardian, Sailor Amarante is a very peaceful and powerful senshi that respects combat and uses it only when necessary. Her duties include "crafting" plants to life, "waking plants" after winter, and havesting plants. Sailor Amarante can sense what a plant needs and have an intuitive understanding of how to help it blossom and grow. She loves the Earth as a whole, down to every last detail.

Sailor Amarante is immune to all poisons, fungi, viruses, and bacteria. However, she posseses a special poison that is lethal to those with a tainted heart. She has knowledge of all flora and extensive knowledge of even some fauna. Sometimes she seems to possess the ability to have small critters (humming birds, insects, etc.) as her allies and helpers.


Entry 3:



Sailor Keres
“Body, mind, or spirit, it doesn’t matter which you threaten.
I am Sailor Keres, prepare for my poisonous venom!”

Sailor Keres is the Fairy of Poison, and a princess reigning from the Palace of Disease. Quite like her powers, she has a very barb-like personality. Her death resulted from a deadly plague that spread throughout her kingdom. By chance, she was reborn onto the planet Earth as a human girl. She was raised in a single parent household, by her father who worked as a doctor. She deeply admired how he helped people, and later became a doctor herself, working for a tiny clinic. One day she reawakened and remembered who she truly was, when she was attacked while walking home and suddenly transformed, sprouting wings and seeing her skin had become a purplish complexion, holding a whip with a venomous tip in her hand. She dedicatedly fights against evil as a senshi now, with the hopes that by doing so, she will protect others’ wellbeing and put a stop to illness.

Influences/Powers

“Keres Fairy Power, Make Up!”
This is the phrase Sailor Keres shouts to transform.
She presses her hands to her chest, and begins to spin clockwise.
Purple bubbles of venom begin to converge around and attach themselves to her.
They slowly form her attire, starting with her green arachnid brooch, then they quickly sprout her wings from her shoulder blades, and the rest of uniform.
She ends by posing with her hands on her hips, gripping her poisonous whip.

“Keres Toxic Assault!”
Sailor Keres quickly grips her whip, and swings it toward the enemy.
She repeatedly strikes at her foe, each hit leaving a venomous mark.
This attack can be use at any range, but is more damaging the closer its used.

“Keres Bacteria Bloom!”
Sailor Keres clasps her hands together, and then opens them.
A purple and green flower sprouts from them, and releases poisonous pollen.
The pollen quickly attaches itself to the enemy, and will poison them slowly.

“Keres Therapy Seed!”
The attack that Sailor Keres only ever uses in emergencies.
It is a healing attack, that requires her to use her own energy.
Her hands glow a yellow aura as she presses it against the recipient’s body.
It can instantly cure an illness that a civilian was inflicted with by an enemy.


Entry 4:



Sailor spirit of Gichigami ( Pronounced as Gitche Gumee)

She is a Guardian of lake superior . Her powers are water and ice based. she also can make the lake very wavy. the water in her attacks is very cold

she comes from and lives in Lake Superior. her pale ice skin comes from the fact that the lake is so cold (or that she is spirit?). Gichigami comes from the Ojibwe term meaning big lake. It's most likely she drowned in the lake around the time the Ojibwe were around giving her the name gichigami instead of the lakes name which is Superior. Some sailors on the seas have said then seen her but most think she is just a old tale.


Entry 5:



Senshi Name: Sailor Asrai
Influences/powers: Water/Darkness
Description: Based off of the name Asrai (A small, fragile, female beings who turns to a puddle of water when they are captured or exposed to sunlight.); Asrasi is a small fairy who works at night to lay the dew upon the grass and also to fight the enemies of the darkness. Even smaller than most fairies (ex. Fairy Diana) she is made fun off at times and resulting in her more bug-like look. Though, putting that aside, she knows she is important and sees her life and powers as a blessing.


Entry 6:



Sailor Lampyris
Lampyris is derived from the greek word for "shining".

Sailor Lampyris is the bringer and protector fireflies, and they in turn protect and fight with her whenever she must. Lampyris is a fairy senshi, and she has a magical affinity for creating light and using it as an attack, and she can also draw light to herself and create a darkened battlefield. Her fireflies can help her to find the enemy, whilst the enemy can not see anything.

She hates fighting, however, and prefers to dance in the dark with the fireflies, flying in the air and creating a show of twinkling lights that no one can ever seem to get too close to before they all disappear into the dark.


Entry 7:



Sailor Arianthe. She is the sailor soldier of the planet Arianthe (greek for song flower). Her planet was destroyed by Sailor Galaxia. While she managed to escape and keep her star seed, she went insane.

Sailor Arianthe had been the guardian of plants and nature. She began to look for another planet to call home and landed on earth. Quickly, Arianthe noticed how polluted the earth was and how plants were treated. She decided that her duty of the guardian of nature meant that she needed to start stopping anyone who threatened the environment. She became basically a supernatural eco-terrorist, using control over plant life to kill anyone in her way.


Entry 8:



Senshi: Sailor Mustardseed
Powers:
Mustard gas: Destroys enemies by shooting powerful gas at them.
Seed Explosion: Hits enemies with seeds at a powerful rate that wounds them.

Emily is a really shy girl who is the youngest of four children. She has a good relationship with her sisters and her family. She is 15 and from Michigan. She dislikes fighting and is a total scaredy cat. On her way home from the animal shelter she works at she was caught by surprise when a giant creature came charging at her. She ran as fast as she could to get away from the creature, but eventually got caught. As the last drop of her energy was about to be drained a bright light came to her and she heard a voice telling her to awaken. When she opened her eyes she was dressed in a different outfit. It scared her and the monster was still trying to attack. Without thinking she yelled something and the creature disappeared. Since then she has been trying to find others like her, she didn't want to be a fighter, she just wanted to live her life.


Entry 9:



Name: Black Lily (often just shortened as Lily)

Influence/Powers :

Lily’s realm of influence is the existence of night as she is the Guardian of night. Not limited to the darkness, the chilliness and haze of the night time also hold a role when it comes to her powers. In daylight she does not carry an item of any kind but always keeps the lily kind of flower in her hair. In the night Lily actually uses the flower to summon her powers and to transform into her Guardian form and when she does so, the flower glows a faint light similar to many stars in the sky. When needed, Lily uses her powers to reveal the true form of the flower to use it in a fight as the flower is in reality her weapon, a silver staff with some purple gemstones.

Description:

Lily is only 4 inches tall in her fairy form but when the night comes and she starts her daily duty of guarding the dark hours, she transforms into her Guardian form, having the looks of a young woman. As mentioned earlier Lily carries a staff which she can summon her stronger powers with when she is in a battle. In the night Lily is used to spend her time looking at the stars on roofs but is never captured by the moment so deeply that she wouldn’t notice a lurking threat.

The reason as to why her flower glows when she transforms and why she loves to gaze up to the stars is tied with her very existence. Even though she does not possess a direct power of the stars, she was born from the brightest stars in the sky to fulfill her duty to guard the night. She carries out her duty with dedication and when fighting against her enemies her eyes sometimes turn emotionless, reflecting her fury and will to fight till her last breath.
