The Galaxy Cauldron is proud to announce a special event writing contest. The challenge for this writing contest is anything that surrounds any canon villain of the Sailor Moon universe. You are free to interpret this challenge as you like. The rules are as follows:

Rules
1. There is no word limit! (Be reasonable, please)
2. Entries must be a one-shot. Multiple chapters will not be accepted.
3. Entries must be rated PG13 or lower.
4. Entries must be related to the challenge (canon villain of the Sailor Moon universe)
5. Your entry must be a new entry created specifically for this challenge.
6. You may only submit one entry.
7. You may not show your entry to anyone else or post it elsewhere on the Galaxy Cauldron until after the contest is over and the winner is announced.
8. Sailor Moon series themed entires are required.

Note: Voting will last until the 11 April. All questions may be directed to Sailor Venus.

Do you guys like the special events? I hardly got any entries for this one, so I'm hesitant to do it again. The point of the special events are to give you an opportunity to write without the worries of over-reaching a word limit.

I like the idea of them ((thought part of the fun of regular writing contests is the challenge of keeping it 1000 words or less XD)) but the topics are usually a little too broad to inspire a quick story, so I have to think about it. And if I don't have a lot of time to spend thinking about it, I assume I'll be struck with some inspiration before the end of the contest, but then suddenly it's the last day and I didn't come up with anything and I go :/ because I still can't come up with anything. ((Not the case this time XD I listened to a song yesterday night and was all 'OH THAT'S IT!'))

!! Maybe next time for a special event rather than broad topics like love or villains or next-gen heroes, could we try a song fic, or a fic inspired by a specific song? There doesn't even need to be a vote for the song or anything -- just throw your playlist on shuffle and choose the (random number)ed song that comes up and say "BAM, writing contest song." Link the song to the contest via youtube and say it can either be a song fic (like the characters act out the lyrics of the song in some form or fashion) or a fic inspired by the song (as in 'hmm, this song is happy and upbeat. I'mma write a fic that's also happy and upbeat and would be fun to read with this song acting as the background music to the words').

I like most of the prompts you have had posted thus far, but I'm just a slow writer. I can't seem to finish anything in time for the deadlines, either, which really throws a kink into my wish to participate. I am trying to get better about it, it just seems like things keep coming up. *Huggles apologetically.*

I do believe we can throw in a writing contest that incorporates songs. We'll do that for the next special event, which will likely be ... summer.
