While SS was viewed the downfall of the anime by many, I really like the characterization and appearance of Nehellenia. She is very beautiful and actually have a personality unlike the other "big bads" of the anime series. Ambitious, ruthless, manipulative and extremely narcissistic.

I actually prefer the SS ending instead of the whitewash in Stars. The SS ending was very shocking, showing her being extremely crazy and narcissistic, rather to die or being sealed in the mirror and live as the old woman, that's different than the other big bads. The whitewashing was fine but unnecessary.

I agree that the SuperS Finale was one of the best - I'd have to rewatch it before I put it above the first season finale - and that Nehellenia was a well thought-out villain.

On the side, what I think is generally disliked about SuperS is the pacing.  Nehellenia takes quite a while even to appear, and the first half of the season is filler-tastic.

The 90s anime was very good with adding depth to the supporting cast, including villains. I think it also helped that she was one of the few Big Bads who actually had a human form so it made it easier to create personality as oppose to the formless villains in previous seasons.

Yes! Totally! Even though Beryl fused with Metalia it was still not quite the same. I felt like Nehellenia had a unique set of motivations compared to the others.

I think I agree that her original ending was probably better than being healed but I actually really like that there was both in the end. I felt like growing up I learned something more about humanity because there was both if that makes sense.

Totally, SuperS got a good main plot along with good villains but the pacing was wayyy too slow, the ending was fine and bit unique. Nehellenia showed a lot of personality in the last few episodes, she should have got more screen time and set up. 

But I still think the first season's finale was the best.


Diagonsed: her StarS ending was good, I just think the SS one fit her character better.


Also about that old witch, was her part of Nehllenia?
