Each arc of the serie, with the exception of the first arc, featured a duo villain very similar to each other, that would often lead the Senshis to trouble. (Castor and Polux doesn't count since they were created by Toei.)
We had Chiral and Achiral, the Boule Brothers of Black Moon. We had Xenotime and Zeolite, the sort-of clowns of Dead Moon Circus. We had the sisters Lethe and Mnemosyme, servants of Galaxia, and finally, Cyprine and Petyrol.
But for me, I found these two were a very vague point of the story. They are of no importance to the comprehension of the story, but as a lover of the Death Busters, I feel like I want to know who are they to one another?

To me, even if she was merely a monster-of-the-day (sadly), in both continuities of the serie she appeared in, I always wondered who was Petyrol. (Or as I saw peoples calling her: Petite Roll, Puchirol, Ptilol, Petrol, etc.)
Is she Cyprine's sister? A clone? A mere "weapon"?

We all know by now that all the Witches used to be humans before being turned into perfect daimons. Was Petyrol one of the lot, or was she created by Cyprine afterward?

I personally first saw her as Cyprine's actual twin sister, and also as somebody who doesn't care much about being a Magus / Chief Executive. But instead decided she would help her sister reaching this. I didn't see Petyrol's appearance as her "spliting away" from Cyprine but as her "coming to help".

The more I thought about it, the more I realised it didn't make sense since Naoko herself said they were "one twin". (Which basically should mean there is another one.)

So, for now, I think Petyrol is "another side" of Cyprine (she might be skyzophrenic...?) given life. But I'm wondering what other peoples might think about that.

Ptilol (as probably the best romanisation of her name) in my opinion, is Cyprine's "twin" but not biologically. Ptilol and Cyprine are one but when they fight, they split into two. So I guess, you are right, she is a sort of weapon. As a Level 999 Witch, Cyprine's ability at magic surpasses everyone's but Kaolinite's. If there is a schizophrenic in Sailor Moon, its got to be poor Sheba, though I think the right term for her is more of a dissociative identity disorder.

Sheba... Sailor Astarte? True, with all this Dark Cain stuff @_@...
Oh hey, we could more or less say the same about Hotaru in the Infinity arc.

No matter what my headcanon was, I imagined Petyrol and Cyprine to have a nice relationship together, I imagine them as great friends, like sisters should, so I don't think Petyrol was intended to be nothing but an advantage in battles. :B
Thought, Petyrol didn't appear along Cyprine in Mistress Labyrinth... Might be because none of the witches had an important on-screen time. But I like to think that it's because she is keeping Petyrol a secret from the other witches.

It's not just Dark Cain, its Astarte and Sailor Astarte and Sheba D: Was Astarte real or just a figment of Sheba's imagination? Which personality controlled Sailor Astarte!? aaaahhh all the unanswered questions XD but this is the wrong page for all that.

I was really disappointed with the Witches 5 in myu, I think you are right, thir roles were just too small to warrant adding in a sixth one. Maybe Ptilol was just on vacation, on vacation in Sweden and when she got back she was confused and angry and then there would be a sequel D:

Well, in the musical, the witches were merely as important as the Death Nightmares. :B And they were more or less replacement for them.
Actually, this idea of Petyrol going in hollidays on her own woudl be a badass idea.

Hmm... I guess in a sense they were replacing the Nightmares, though Mugen seems to be based more off the anime and Usagi Ai no Senshi was more of the anime, so I don't really see it as a remake. If anything it's a remake its Last Dracul Jyokyoku, and as we later found out, the Death Nightmares turned out to be important after all. Ptilol should rise and resurrect the Death Busters for sure.
