I am going to be on LOA from April 25 to May 8, so I was hoping to get the conversation started/etc. with the goal of hosting the festival on Friday, May 12 through Thursday, May 25.

The updated dates are Thursday, May 18 through Wednesday, May 31

I will happily host an otaku or dress-up contest. And I can make the word search.

I can totally host a flash game or two. Especially one of the links provided by sports, if he doesn't mind/nobody else is hosting that particular game.

Would I be able to host a shiritori game?

I had an idea but I'm not sure how we'd impliment it. Basically a typical sakura has 5 petals. I was thinking somehow we could have people earn petals (which I can pixel) and if they earn 5 they get a special bumper (I can also provide pixel for that too.)
Thoughts?

@Dark Sportsnutd, I think it would be necessary to do some modifications to the matching game file you located. You couldn't necessarily use that exact PDF, because it has the answers on the bottom. It would be better, I think, to create a matching game inspired by the one you found. As long as you have two columns of words, players can match.

@Starchild, as for the pixel idea, I would love to do this by having people earn a petal by participating in the other events. For example, get 1 petal for submitting answers to the word matching game, one for playing in one round of shiritori, etc. With the pixel idea and the other two things you mentioned previously, I'd prefer if you picked two events total. ♥ I want to keep it fairly distributed, if possible.

@Sailor Jupiter, the cherry blossom lottery looks like it was very cute! Let's do it again!

The start dates are likely to shift, so if you're interested and think you can put something together, or like you suggested step in for someone that would be great. ♥

I'd still love to participate, and I'd still like to do Shiritori. I don't need much to get it going, so I'll be able to whip it up pretty quickly. I'm going on LOA on the 26th, so if it extends past that date, I won't be able to do much. Is that okay?

I think the better option might be to just shorten your event, since we tend to have things such as points and cleaning up threads and such afterwards. Since you'll be back mid June I think it'd make more sense to just wrap it up early.

Sorry for the bump, but who would you like to distribute these petals? Would you like to be in charge of that or have another admin or myself do it? I just need to know if I need to send them to anyone other than myself.

Would it be okay for me to host a digital paper fan decorating contest? I have the .png file already made, I'd just have to write up the contest rules and request the banner and prizes.

BTW, are we starting all of the events at the same time?

Oh my i'm so behind. x_x I never really offered to host anything cause I wasn't sure if I'd be able to and there seemed to be plenty games. However, if someone really needs a back up or just some help in some other form, let me know! I can be a backup if an emergency comes up or something. ^^
