Does anyone have any theories or speculations on Princess Serenity's father? She had to be conceived somehow, and I was wondering what anyone's thoughts were? Or maybe it's mentioned somewhere? I looked on the wiki page and I didn't seem to find anything so I don't think it was ever mentioned.

Any thoughts?

I'm trying to remember if we ever had any past official discussion on it cause I'd be interested to see what others said in the past buuuut I personally like the idea that Princess Serenity has no father as she was birthed from the Galaxy Cauldron. In the manga, there's a small hint that it's possible that Queen Serenity did not actually give physical birth to Princess Serenity, but unfortunately those scenes of the past aren't detailed enough to really say for sure. Other versions of SM don't really delve too much into that either: the original anime doesn't allude to any father figure, so I guess its safe to assume its similar to the manga; PGSM gives us nothing, and Myu hints at the possibility there was a Moon Princess sort of figure before the Silver Millennium, but its not cut and dry if that's what they are suggesting or not.

A small head canon that I've stolen from a friend is that Queen Serenity and thus Princess Serenity are incarnations of Cosmos, much like Queen Metallia, etc. are all incarnations of Chaos. Considering Queen Serenity was able to make it to the Cauldron somehow, it makes you wonder just what sort of being she really is.

But either way, unless its written well in fanfiction, I don't subscribe to Princess Serenity having an actual biological father especially since there is no canonical mentioning of it.

My personal belief is that Princess Serenity was "born" from Queen Serenity's desire for a daughter, possibly with the power of the Silver Crystal acting as a catalyst. I don't imagine her as having a father.

I like the idea that she's an incarnation of Cosmos.

Yeah I kind of agree with this. Plus there were 0 hints that Princess Serenity had a father/

Although a Silver Crystal/asexual/virgin birth also makes sense, I always thought of Princess Serenity’s father as having died many years before, as it is commonplace for only one parent to be mentioned in stories. For example, only Legolas’s father was ever mentioned in the original Lord of the Rings books (although he mentions his mother in the Hobbit films), Arwen’s mother was never mentioned in the film series (she was mentioned only in the books), and neither was Odette’s mother ever mentioned in the Swan Princess film. Snow White’s father and original mother were never mentioned in the original Disney film, either (only in the story books). However, you know all of these characters came about from somewhere. The same can be said of Serenity’s father. I think that perhaps he was a man of little power or significance, as Queen Serenity was the rightful ruler, and he may have simply married her from humble beginnings and died sometime later. Just a thought, though. But that’s my thinking none the less.

I'd like to think Princess Serenity had a father, who was just not mentioned in the series. My headcanon, on manga version, is that he was killed in a battle against Nehellenia and her forces. My thought is that she was the big enemy in the Silver Millennium and waged war against the Moon Kingdom back when it was at its strongest, until she was finally sealed away.

That is also a good theory! I’ve never thought of that one. I forgot how close Nehelenia was to Serenity. That makes sense.
