Ami's shoulder length hair is dark brown and edged with bangs. She almost always has her hair part-way pinned up, with the other half lying flat. She might try and change it up once in a while, but she is pretty comfortable with her current style and tends to default to it from day to day. She is often seen wearing her school's uniform, or soft unassuming pastels paired with covering jackets and sweaters. She isn't one to wear flashy clothing, and tries to not stick out too much.

Personality Traits: The first trait most people think of when they think of Ami Mizuno, is her intelligence. She is incredibly smart and spends a lot of her time studying and enriching her knowledge in countless different subjects and areas. She tests well in her school, and even though she would never flaunt such success, much preferring to keep her head down and out of sight, her name still gets whispered around - sometimes in awe, sometimes in jealousy and heated envy - and most people in her school know who she is. The Smart Girl. The Genius Girl. Sometimes she wishes that people would be able to see past that, that her intelligence isn't the only redeeming quality about her. But the fact is that she enjoys reading and studying and learning. So she just tries to ignore the fact that most people only want to talk to her because they want help with their own grades.

When she meets Usagi, everything changes - sometimes so fast, Ami can't keep the world from spinning in chaos around her - but she enjoys the change. And she enjoys Usagi's warmth and her friendship. It was a thing she never truly thought she'd have, and with Usagi, it feels even more special. She has since found even more friends in Rei and Makoto, and she loves each of them dearly, but it's always Usagi that she feels the closest to. Sometimes she worries that her friends will one day leave her, that all of this happiness was simply temporary. But then Usagi smiles and Rei glares and Makoto laughs, and she ignores those feelings and tries to live in the here and now.

Additional Information:
Ami owns a pair of glasses that she actually doesn't need. Her eyesight is perfectly fine, she just relies on the glasses in much the same way as a mask. She has since tried to stop using them, now that she feels a little more confident, though some days that urge is strong to put them back on.

Ami enjoys listening to Minako Aino's music when studying as it helps her focus.

The steady click of the knitting needles comforted her. It wasn't the same comfort as the warmth of her friend's laughter, or the excitement of beginning a new book. This was different - it was comforting to simply focus on the project, to create something entirely new with her own hands. The rythmic clicking, the feel of the yarn as she pulled it around the needle, watching the garment grow with each stitch. There was satisfaction in knowing that it would continue to grow into a pair of mittens or a scarf that would one day keep a beloved friend warm.

Ami indulged herself with a small smile. For once, it didn't feel weird to smile, even though she was alone in the room. Being around Usagi's bright cheerfulness made smiling feel almost natural.

On that thought, she looked to the pink yarn she was currently working with, and her smile changed - softer, more secret, a little shy. The pink was perfect for Usagi. Delicate and bright, with hints of strength in the weight of the yarn. Ami ran her fingers over the ball of wound material, feeling the softness.

To the side of the table, more balls of yarn lay in waiting. Stark red and deep green, and a pale blue that lay just a hint away from the others. Her smile faltered, and with slow movements, Ami picked up the yarn and placed it snugly next to the rest. Where it was supposed to be.

She dared not lift her eyes away from the yarn - if she did, the emptyness of the room threatened to swallow her whole.  

So instead, she focused on the task at hand. She had mittens to finish. Better to take advantage of the quiet headquarters, she told herself. They'd all be back soon enough, along with the flurry of activity that she found so fun and overwhelming. Her friends would be back soon, she repeated again. Together. With her.

Where they were supposed to be.

And if a part of her doubted it, whispering 'what if they don't come back? what if they have forgotten all about you?', she drowned it out with the steady clicking of her knitting needles.

Powers and Magical Items:
Jewelry Star Bracelet: A bracelet that she uses in order to transform. In her civilian form, it appears as a silver charm bracelet, but when she transforms, it's thicker and almost watch-like in appearance.  
Teletia S: A cute pink flip-phone that she and the other senshi use as communicators. It also has the power to take a picture of someone and then transform its owner into wearing the exact same outfit, even storing such pictures for later use.
Sailor Star Tambourine: A star shaped item that jingles when shaken. Later on in PGSM, she is given this item to use as a weapon to further strengthen and focus her attacks. Even later she changes it into the Mercury Sword.
Mercury Sword: A weapon similarly shaped to that of a Chinese Dao Sword, it has a crystalline icy blue blade and a golden handle. She calls upon the powers of the planet Mercury in order to change her Star Tambourine into this weapon.
Mercury Aqua Mist: Her first attack. It's offensive but can also create a misty haze around her to give herself and her allies a tactical advantage.
Shine Aqua Illusion: An offensive attack that summons a rush of swirling water that harms the target or freezes them for a short time.
Mercury Aqua Storm: An attack that she uses specifically with her Tambourine, which shoots out bursts of water and blue energy at her enemy.
Mercury Aqua Cyclone: An offensive attack that summons a ray of snow and ice that she can direct straight onto her intended target, inflicting damage.
Mercury Aqua Blizzard: A strong offensive attack that summons snow and ice around her, which is then blasted towards the enemy, inflicting damage.
Moonlight Attractive Attack: A strong group attack that she can only perform when together with Sailors Jupiter, Mars, Venus and Moon. Using their Tambourines and the Moonlight Stick, they summon their powers together into a single force of energy to attack their enemy, doing large amounts of damage.

Dark Jewelry Star Bracelet: The corrupted version of the Jewelry Star Bracelet, Ami used this to transform into her darker counterpart when brainwashed and corrupted by Kunzite using the phrase "Dark Power, Make Up".
Dark Sword: A sword made of pure sharp ice, Dark Mercury created this weapon out of an icicle and wields it with destructive force and accuracy. Can also send blasts of energy at her enemies.
