Appearance: Ami is of a smaller stature but not unusually short. She has a small delicate frame as well. She had blue hair that varies slightly in length depending on the timeframe, but it is always short. Her eyes are a deep clear blue. She is occasionally seen wearing glasses and is almost never without a book of some sort. She dresses conservatively and very neatly, wearing mostly earth tones with vests, blouses, and skirts being the most common attire along with brown loafers. In school she wears a uniform with a knee length dark blue skirt with a blue bow behind, white short sleeved blouse, and a pinkish red bow in the front.

She moves with a quiet and unobtrusive grace, often causing her to be overlooked.

Personality: Ami is incredibly smart with a rumored IQ of 300. She is a top A student, always getting the highest ranks in her class. Despite this amazing intelligence and quick learning ability, Ami believes she has no talents and that learning is the only thing she can do well. The only social interactions she was used to were people begging her to help them study, but these were not true friendships. Often her shyness was mistaken for coldness, or a lack of desire to be social. Ami feels a deep sense of loneliness, at least until she meets Usagi who befriends her and asks nothing in return. Despite the wonderful friendship that she values so much with Usagi and the other senshi, she is still riddled with self-doubts, feeling like a burden to the others, or wondering if she is less capable. Through the development of her friendship with Usagi and the others, she begins to gain more and more confidence and starts to become more comfortable with herself. Those who take the time to befriend and get to know her soon find that she has a very kind heart and would do anything to help.

Besides this, Ami is very tactful and uses her words carefully, trying to avoid hurting anyone’s feelings. She has a passion for learning new things. Secretly she is a romantic who loves reading romantic fiction. Her favorite foods are sandwiches. She loves bathing and swimming, finding comfort in immersing herself in water. She also enjoys playing chess. It helps her to focus when there is something on her mind.

Any Unique Abilities/Skills: She is quite skilled with computers and has also been known to have sensitive hearing (PGSM) and use her water powers for dowsing (Crystal). Her strengths lie in calculation.

History:
During the Silver Millennium the princess of mercury was one of the four senshi guardians for Princess Serenity. She as the senshi of wisdom and water and was well known for her intelligence. In some arcs (Crystal, Manga etc…) she developed a fondness for one of Endymion’s inner circle. She and Zoisite explored a romance after Serenity began escaping down to Earth and leaving her guardians to go fetch her. The romance was not to be however as Beryl brainwashed the four shittennou and the Earth’s forces into believing the moon only wished to dominate them. They attacked the Moon and Mercury was forced to face her lover in combat to the death.

After being reborn in Tokyo (presumably in the 90’s according to the anime) she was eventually befriended by Usagi Tsukino who was the only person that seemed to want a genuine friendship rather than study help. Soon Luna would discover her true identity and she would become the second of the senshi to be re-awakened. In this era her parents are divorced and her mother is a successful doctor to whom Ami looks up to. However her workaholic ways mean that Ami was left alone most times growing up. She and the senshi faced Beryl and the shittennou again, and while the princess was victorious, the scouts lost their memories again, only to be awakened by Luna once more during a crisis. Contrary to Usagi who wanted the quiet life with no senshi duties, Ami was grateful to be re-awakened and to serve her purpose in protecting the princess. She has a strong sense of duty.

In PGSM, at one point she becomes brainwashed by Kunzite and taken to the Dark Kingdom, but as the story progresses she has difficulty with the brainwashing, something within her fighting back because of her valued friendship with Usagi.


Other Noteworthy Facts: Blood type is A and her star sign is Virgo. Her dream is to become a doctor someday like her mother. Favorite subject is math.

By design her sailor fuku is similar to Sailor Moon’s but in varying shades of blue.  The dominant color is solid blue accented with areas of a lighter blue. She wears small blue stud earrings with which she can summon the VR visor. Her skirt and knee-length boots are dark blue while the bows at front and in back are a lighter blue. Her gloves are white with dark blue cuffs at her elbows. Her collar and choker are dark blue. Her VR visor is also a semi-transparent blue.

In her super form, the back ribbon is larger and longer, and trails behind her upper legs. Her front bow bears a heart and her shoulder pads become longer and slightly transparent. Her choker displays a five-pointed golden star with a blue gem in the center of it.

Ami made her way slowly down the hall towards the list of exam grades posted on the wall. Many students dreaded looking at the wall of grades, and she did too but for a different reason. Already there was a crowd gathering. She could hear exclamations of cheer and cries of dismay. As she drew closer, she could hear her name whispered between some of the students. Clearly, she had made top score again. She almost wondered if she even needed to look now, but Ami liked details, and she was curious as to the exact points.

Steeling herself and tensing, she slipped quietly into the front of the crowd, glanced at her score, and attempted to slink out again unnoticed.

“Mizuno-san!” “Mizuno-san!” The voices of at least two students echoed in the hall as two boys lunged towards her, pleading looks in their faces. “Please Mizuno-san, will you help us study for the next exam? I’ll never get into a good high school like this!” Suddenly she found herself being surrounded. It was like this every year. Other students would offer candy, food, even money for help on the exams. If she wanted, she could have all the friends she wished. But this was not real friendship. Sure, she had tried it years ago, so thrilled with her sudden popularity in school that she promised to help the others study just so they would hang out with her. It was a hollow friendship, a fake veneer that hid tarnished metal underneath. Ami did not want any part of buying friends anymore with her intelligence.

She backed up before they could surround her, muttering apologies in a quiet shaky voice as she spun on her heels and made a hasty retreat just short of running. It hurt. It always hurt every time she had to go through this to get her grades. In those moments when she was swarmed by fake friends was when she felt the loneliness the most.  Her face felt hot and she knew if she did not get away it might begin to show.

Finally Ami made it to the roof of the school, the one place she was almost always guaranteed to find peace. The blue haired girl sat against the edge and wrapped her arms around herself and her books. Maybe if her grades were not so good, she could find a friend who liked her for who she was, not her test scores. But studying and getting good grades were the only talents she possessed. Without that, what was left?

Can you mention people assumed Ami didn’t want to engage in social conversations although she was just shy? Can you also mention that thanks to her mother’s busy job, she grew up mostly alone, and that she gradually gains self-confidence after meeting her friends? Also, could you fix her bloodtype to be A and her horoscope to be Virgo?
